Ruby Green was obsessively intrigued yet anxious, unsure how much of her earlier statements the man had taken to heart.

"Did you spread the news?" Brandon Piers looked at the woman on the hospital bed, thinking about the 'big surprise' he received yesterday, his amber eyes showing a rare hint of annoyance.

"I... don't understand what you're talking about?" Ruby Green murmured timidly. For some reason, the gentleman before her always behaved with perfect decorum, even his questioning lacked any hint of aggression. However, she couldn't help feeling scared, her voice laced with a hint of guilt.

Originally, she had taken the place of Abigail Green, pretending to wake up from his arms. Brandon had once shown his gentleness, but a few days later, he became distant and had never touched her since.
