Chapter 1: Episode 1
The beginning
Aisha, short for isha was just a little girl who just wanted to be a child, play, have tea parties and beaker with her siblings .she was the only girl and third child of three children so she did not take royal duties as a priority but her mother queen Zara always wanted her to be the perfect princess, and one day fight against the injustice the women faced in the kingdom, you might say she is a queen she has power but she couldn't do much as a queen because she was termed a wife to the king and had no authority. According to the law of the Barmudaians, "it says a queen is nothing more than a consort with no royal or political authority over the kingdom, But every child of the king was given such rights, especially the boys or princes, "she had no power to speak or command even the guards but Isha though a princess had a little say in the matter and served as a little ray of hope for her mother and all the other women in the kingdom
The law put women in the kingdom under such belittlement .so the only hope a mother had was her little 10year old daughter.
Every night before isha dazed into sleep she would tell her stories of a great woman who ruled a faraway land and how she made women have a say in that kingdom. Just to get the situation of things into her head. But little isha would not get why her mother always used the same bedtime stories every night. Isha never wanted or saw herself to be royalty but soon enough she had to learn all of her mother's plight and wishes the hard way .after the incident
Chapter 2
the Incidence
It's the winter season in Bermuda, and the yearly Vandall ceremony was in process, this ceremony was cheerful cause it had drinking, eating, partying and so many other frivolities, you might say it was a time of relief for the women from all the belittlement, you might say the women should be happy, but sadly it wasn't. This was the holiday the women dreaded the most it was a holiday of eating and other joyous ceremonies but for only the men and the women, it was a holiday they hated because it only celebrated and encouraged their weakness, during this holiday they were treated as tools.
This holiday was a tribute to manliness. the men during this holiday would wear a coat made from animal skin mostly bears skin
and braid their hair and would shout and chant songs mostly about the muscular gender
they would sing a song
The words were
we are men, we are men
higher than all beings beneath the heaven
given dominion over the earth and all its creations, who can talk when men are talking
who does dear speak when men are speaking?
They would sing and chant this song as they walked in mass on the street leading to the kerdes palace, guided by several giant poles. All men from 18years old and above had to be part of this ceremony. As the men marched and sang their song, Queen Zara looked through her window which was foggy from all the ice from her chamber and said in a low voice
'their ego grows, even more, every year as she lets a deep breath out
mother! Aisha called, what an angelic voice she had her voice immediately put a smile on her face as she turned around to see her little princess, "oh my love how are you," am fine mother what are you doing at the window"Aisha enquired
" oh nothing just gazing at the birds hoping I could be free someday from all these " then she stopped, thinking that her daughter might not be interested to listen, then these words came from Isha "free from what mother " those words put a smile back on her face as she was happy that she was interested in knowing what her mother wanted to be free from
then she continued as she walked around the room in a sad but angered voice "free from denial, free from belittlement, free from shame" as she said these words she remembered all she has been through in her godforsaken marriage and her mocked role of being Queen, tears rolled down her cheeks.
Aisha was now surprised to see her mother crying was saddened then she asked "who made you go through all of these is it father" she said with a disappointed voice
her mother replied "not only your father my love but all men put their wives and daughters under this treatment"
Aisha then said in an enraged voice "who gave such a law " her mother said as she sat on a chair "it has been so for centuries, and I hope it stops someday"
but mother you're the queen you can stop these right "these words brought back tears to her eyes as she stood up and went back to the window, then she said in an emotional voice" I am a mockery of a Queen I have no power, my love, I can't stop it and I don't want you to end up like me weak and powerless "but mother your not weak " Aisha replied in a low but reassuring voice. "oh my love if only you knew you had the power to stop all these"
her mother replied as she wiped her tears, remembering that she had hope, which was her daughter.
Aisha thinking about her mother's voice felt like a little tiger ready to act but little did she know that her actions would have consequences
3 - The Dark Vandall
Aisha, Aisha my love "Queen Zara called as she noticed that her daughter's mind has toned out, " Mother you said I have the power to stop this so am going to stop this, am going to bring an end to your sorrows mother I promise you and it all has to end today "she said this words as she stood up like a young soldier ready to go for war. No, my love, her mother said with a worried and angry voice
you can't your not ready yet so just have patience" And wait until when mother! Aisha interupted you said I have the power, now am going to use it for good, she said this as she dashed out of the room with the voice of her mother calling her back from a distance "Aisha, Aisha come back now," she ran out of the Queen's courtyard and through the hall of fame of past rulers most especially Kings.
Then she got to the royal chamber where the kings usually had meetings and judged cases, at the giant door of the chamber she felt intimidated by the size of the door
Then she wondered why there were no guards at the door, then she remembered that there were men so they would be part of the celebration .
As she reached to open this door she realised that she has never spoken to her father since she was born but only knew his face she wondered should I carry on? should I go back?,how will the King take her words?
After her mind brainstormed a little she shook her head and said" I can't stop now! so she pushed open the door , the whole men who were laughing and rejoicing paused and looked at her.
Shocked and surprised she started walking into the chamber towards the front end of the room where the king was Sitted drinking wine, as she entered so boldly the men wondered how she was so brave walking amid men 10 times her size .she was the first girl or woman to ever enter the king's chamber and most especially on the Vandall ceremony, as she walked she looked around the chamber and saw statutes and other monuments all given to men then she stopped at the 7th step of stairs leading to the king's throne.
What do you want child? the king said with his deep intimidating voice
but she wasn't intimidated by his voice she said in reply
justice, for all women in this kingdom "
Justice! the king said as he sat up on his throne" hmm what do you know about justice child, please get out from here if you have nothing to talk about and go play with the maids".
But Aisha screamed " No father I am here to speak with you and you will listen "at this the guards tried attacking her because of her stern reply to the king but the king stopped them with a wave of his hand "what do you want justice from " the king questioned ,
"I need sorry we need justice for all women, and girls all over the kingdom now and for generations to come " Aisha replied
the words of the girl sounded familiar to the kings ears , he has heard the same words somewhere, he wondered where and he finally remembered the queen always told him those words every Vandall ceremony as he came back to reality he found out that the girl has been talking then he interrupted
" Who put you up to this? she paused and said "no one ".
The King stood up as he stood the whole assembly of men stood up ,her elder brothers stood up as well, then he said "Who sent you" with a thunderous and enraged voice .
Now Little Isha was scared as she was the only girl among the men she was shaking,
the King moved and began to come down the stairs of his throne , he said as he came down Who sent you! she began crying ,then he knelt in front of her and said did your mother send you? she had no words to say as she was crowded by fear in her heart .The King then said "did your mother put you up to this ?" in a slow but agitated voice , she felt scared ,and couldn't look at the face of the King, because she felt that she has put her mother in trouble.
Then the king stood up and chuckled in a deep voice that scared her more, " she sent you didn't she will regret this" the words regret made her look at the king's face , as he called the guards to hold her, the guards grabbed hold of her as she tried struggling, the king left the chamber and all the men also left .As she was still struggling her brothers walked pass her, seeing them leaving she said "help mom, please his going to hurt her, please brothers " it was obvious that they had no interest in saving their mother as they just walked out with no sign of worry on their faces .She began crying as she was still struggling all on her own with no one coming to realse her from the strong grip of the soldiers. so she stopped for a while with the intent of giving up. But then she remembered that her mom always loved her and if she was the one she would fight out of the hold of the guards and come save her so she said " I can do this ", ahe bit the hand of the guard that held her and threw a bronze cup on the head of the other guard which knocked him immediately unconscious, then she began running towards the door , as she came out she followed a little shortcut only she knew that was behind one of the picture of a king. whichhh led up to the queen's chamber, she would follow this short cut anytime she wanted sweets from her mother's room, but this time she followed it to go save her mother .As she went through the shortcut she heard the foot steps of the king and his guards legs stamping on the floor of the way that leads to the queen's courtyard . she said to herself "the king is still far ,"so she had time to go warn the queen about the kings coming, as she got to the queen's room she opened the wall painting in the room and came out she looked and saw her poor innocent mother just sitting down there looking at the window
she then thought about the trouble she has caused her then she began crying as she came towards her saying mother, mommy, please let's leave here at once her mother was wondering why her little angel was crying she said Isha is anything the matter my love where should I go I leave here then she said mommy I did something bad I put you in trouble
I know my love but you were only trying to help, no child can stand the tears of their mother" but mommy is he going to hurt you no my love I will be alright
as she said this they both heard the king's voice from outside "get out from my way " seize him and cut off his head "Open the door
Chapter 4- the dark vandall 2
Open the door the king commanded as the door was broken open by the guards
Queen Zara and isha stood up calmly the Queen said to him "what is it are you here to beat me like you always do ?your guards are watching you have always been a bad influence on them and all the men in the kingdom and even your sons ". Enough of your speech woman who put you in the place to talk to me"the king interrupted no one did the Queen said but someone has to teach you how to treat women I am a king and I am a man you have no audacity to talk to me like that I don't care the Queen replied with a loud and frustrated voice I am tired of all your men rituals what about the women who bore you men into this world they breastfed you and nurtured you while you were still young but sadly you grow up and disregard the womb that bore you enough! The King shouted as he drew out his sword but the Queen did not let that intimidate her she carried on saying you are a disgrace to your mother"! with those words the king got enraged and hit her with his fists the hit was so heavy that she staggered and slipped right through her window and fell from the west wing window of her chamber which was very high, landing unto the sharp edges of the barricades
Aisha was shocked to the marrow . Did her mother just fall through the window?, did her eyes deceive her ?she began walking slowly to the window, hoping that what her mind told her would be a lie .finally, she got to the window and saw the most terrible scene a little child could ever see she saw her mother pierced through with sharp irons and her blood all over her white royal dress .She did not know whether to cry or not because crying would not be enough for the pain she felt.
she slowly Steped backwards from the window and began running down the stairs with tears in her eyes when she got down,she saw a crowd of people all over the Queen, trying to pull her out of the sharp edges of the barricades, and then lay the feeble Queen on the floor. She had to struggle through the crowd ,to get to her bleeding mother .Finally, she got to where her mother was lying down helplessly as she got closer she broke into tears, she beganncrying out "mother please get up let's go am begging mother get up for your angel's sake mommy, mommy please get up please mommy" as her tears dropped on her mothers forehead her mother whispered this words" Always do what is right ,you are strong, you are great ,please make everything better you have the power ". With those words Queen Zara gave her final breath leaving poor Isha devastated by her mother's body
