Chapter 4: I wants to interlude

It was a tranquil night, the cloudless sky pave way the majestic moonlight as the stars in a moment of clarity showed up painting the brilliant night.

There's one in particular mansion, stylized in a traditional Japanese structure.

"I truly apologize for the mistake, Gan'an-sama!"

The woman kneels, head lowered as low as possible, kissing the floor as the man in front of her didn't even bother to turn his head and addressed her.

Just this evening, one of the Shinomiya greatest asset almost got stolen, and whoever the proprietor is still at large, scheming behind the shadow.

Akagi Shinomiya had always been at the end of many important figure's crosshair, not only by the virtue of being the youngest and most gullible, but also the fact they know Gan'an Shinomiya favored him the most out of all his children.

He is now under 24-hours surveillance and intensive care after suffering a hemorrhage to his head and numerous shock injuries. PMC was dispatched to safeguard the hospital.

"Tell me about this evening." He said slowly, gaze still looking over the moon.

"Yes! As the report stated, Akagi-sama was kidnapped at approximately 12 PM- "

"Not that." He raised his voice slightly, "Tell me how he handled those… things. Don't refrain to express your personal feelings about it, Nao."

"Yes, Gan'an-sama. At first, I was in dismay how he handled the situation, he was beaten, kicked, thrown, never once I saw his eyes waver, only the same confidence he held. I believe he is capable to escape the warehouse back then if only for us not to hold him back. He dispatched four armed adults in a brief 2 seconds with ease if through shock values, and never once I saw his hand stirred after what I know the first time, he killed someone. Honestly, I was a bit scared but also relieved."

"Fumu." The man closed his eyes as was contemplating before nodding in satisfaction: "We, Shinomiya, has withstand hundred years of competition, and always come on top. Era may change, Regime come and go, but we always endure."

That child, he holds over the cigarette holder savoring the rush of aroma, will bring us to a new height or even calamity. If only I could know which is it, either way, he had to learn which path he would take as all of my other children do.

The two oldest children are too cowardly, just a mere viper waiting for an opportunity that may never come. Always bickering to each other. For the two others, the only redeeming point is that their brilliant minds are too meek to withstand the turmoil on the grand stage.

Then there's the last one. Akagi. His mother was always sweet, bold, and adventurous, a trait that was certainly passed on to her newborn. The child is resourceful even for someone his age.

He mulled, inhaling the cigarette before puffing the smoke away.

"Nao, if I remember correctly, Akagi still retain the right of his mother's old company, right?"

In fact, the aide for Akagi was chosen by his mother and all her fortunes were given to him as stated in her last will. The only thing keeping him from inheritance is his age.

"Yes, but it's been inactive since her passing. Shall I liquidate most of her assets?"

"No. Grant Akagi all of the assets, he's mature enough to know what to do with them."

"I understand, Gan'an-sama."

The woman was about to excuse herself before her master stopped her midway, "And Nao, as a punishment you shall be his mentor for 3 years. Shape him properly, I'll not tolerate another failure."

"Yes!"
