30% Alchemy System: The Ancient One's True Descendant / Chapter 3: First Lesson Basic Soul Pill

Chapter 3: First Lesson Basic Soul Pill

"First let's start off with the basics, we are going to learn about different fires alchemist use. To start off with let me show you mine."

She held out her hand with her palm facing up and her started to glow and a dark blue fire erupted in her hand.

"WOAH!!" I said

She then snickered at my excitement and said, "Most alchemist have their own unique fire something similar to mine. Mine is called [Midnight Flames] it is within the top 5 strongest fires, in particular it is ranked the third. Anything other than the top 5 fires means you will likely not reach master rank, however, it isn't impossible."

I then nodded like I understood what possessing fire of this magnitude meant, then asked "What are the other four top 5 fires?" Wanting to see if mine was one she would mention.

She then said, "Starting from the weakest to the strongest we have, [Crimson Fire] which glows red, [Jade Fire] which glows green, my fire [Midnight Flame] as seen glows dark blue, then [Plasmite Fire] which glows bright white, and lastly we have [Phenix Fire] which glows dark orange."

Sad I didn't see my fire there, I asked, "Does there exist any stronger fires other than the top 5 mentioned?"

She looked at me, while giving me a confused face as to why I would ask. She then said, "There are ancient flames that legends say burn black, but the names have been lost, and we don't even know how good they are because we never had a chance to use them."

I then nodded, thinking I need to try my fire maybe it is black... "Is there a way to see if I have a fire even though I never tried alchemy before?"

She nodded and went to a closet to pull out a crystal ball.

"This ball here will tell us if you have a fire, but it wont show us the color of your fire, for that you need to increase your soul strength and eventually you will be able to release your flame."

I smiled and nodded

She walked up to the stool I was sitting on and placed the crystal ball on the table, she then grabbed my hand and placed it on top of the ball.

Nothing happened so I looked over at her to see if she was making any expressions.

We sat there for 5 minutes and nothing happened... "errr Terri? I think it is broke?"

She said, "Patience is key, alchemy is all about patience. A top tier Alchemist has at most a 70% chance at producing an elixir or pill, remember this. Alchemy = patience."

I nodded and then the crystal ball started to glow

"OOOOO great great, you have a fire... hopefully it is one of the top 5, however, if it isn't it is ok I'll still be proud of you and teach you the ways of a master alchemist"

I was smiling ear to ear hearing those words. Even my birth parents weren't this nice to me.

"ok, now that we briefly went over fires, let's have you get the feel of what it means to be an alchemist."

She then took out a book called 'beginner recipes of alchemy' flipping through the book, she came to a picture and recipe of a Basic Soul Pill. As soon as I laid my eyes on the picture I heard a ding followed by [Learnt Basic Soul Pill]. I opened my [status] and saw:

_________

Looking at my recipes I noticed a huge difference in detail comparing the Basic Soul Pill and the High Tier Recovery Elixir. I was a little dazed when I saw this, and Terri noticed... she poke my side making me jump and she said, "come come, take your caldron and sit here"

I pulled my bucket sized caldron and waddled next to her sitting at a fire proof stone table.

She then aimed her hand under my caldron and lit a [Midnight flame] under my caldron. With Soul water and Spirit grass off to the side, she passed me the book of basic alchemy and said, "I'll control the fire, you follow the recipe and throw in the needed materials."

I look at the recipe in the book and at my [status] and notice there was no instruction on quantity... I looked at the book again then at Terri looking for an answer.

Not getting a peep out of her I slowly moved my hand to the spirit grass like the instructions and grab 3 strains of grass then looked back at her. She looked like she was about to laugh, so I turned back and grabbed 3 more strains... I looked back at her and her cheeks were puffed up holding in laughter.

Ahhhh screw it I said internally, grabbed all the grass which was over 100 stains and threw it in. I followed the instructions and saw it was turning to ash. I grab the Soul Water bucket and not knowing quantity I dumped the whole bucket in and started mixing.

All said and done Terri was now busting up in full laughter... saying, "Are you making soup or a pill, hahahahhaha."

I frowned a little sad by her words and my confidence a little shaken, but kept stirring the mixture.

She was still laughing, but soon after the mixture became more solid, I pulled up the spoon I was using to stir and when I pulled up it was a giant lollipop.

At this point Terri was on the ground dying of laughter.

I looked at her and gave her a 'grrrr' face, then stared at my giant lollipop. *System, did I make the Basic Soul Pill?* [Yes, from the looks of it, you used 10 sets of material for this pill and due to the passive [Guidance of Master Alchemist] you made 20 pills into one giant pill. My recommendation would be use your own fire as it will make the pills for you.]

While Terri was calming down from her laughter, I opened my mouth and nommed on the Basic Soul Pill Lollipop while staring at my status page.

Terri's eyes opened wide and shouted, "STOP!!! you could explode!"

However, by the time she said this I had the whole Lollipop in my mouth. By the time I was able to comprehend the situation to spit it out, more than 90% of it dissolved in my mouth." I started spitting out the little bits I still had, while looking at Terri.

"A...am...am I going to explode??" I asked alarmed

She put her hand on my back and didn't notice anything wrong. Then BAM it hit me, my whole body emitted steam. I was in panic, I kept looking at Terri as if she could do something.

Then the steam suddenly stopped.

"Terri am I still going to explode? I just met you please save me! I lost both my parents already and I'm finally happy again..."

She hugged me saying "You're fine... I'm not sure how... but you wont explode."

She didn't let go, but just stayed hugging me.

"CCCCan't BBBBREEEEAATHHH, your squishing me Terri!"

She didn't stop but rather she hugged me tighter, further pushing me into her boobs.

When she finally released and kissed me on my forehead. I opened my [Status] page.
