Chapter 1: A Second Chance?
In a vast expanse of land, where only blades of grass stretched as far as the eye could see, a middle-aged man stirred as if awakening from a profound slumber.
"HAAAAAHHHHH, huh? How long was I asleep?" Ron mumbled, attempting to rise. "Hmm? Where am I? I don't recall leaving that ridiculously expensive apartment." He puzzled over the bizarre experience.
Suddenly, Ron shot up, surveying the unfamiliar expanse in haste. A grand revelation struck him, "I-i-i got isekai'ed?!"
As he mused, the space in front of him distorted, pulling him from his monologue. A majestic voice resonated, "Sorry to burst your bubble, child. The last available world you're thinking of got taken by someone like you a millennium ago. It will take eons for a world like that to be available again."
"OH FU—Why do people always appear out of nowhere? I would've died a hundred times if it weren't for my strong heart." Ron exclaimed, trying to calm his vigorously beating heart.
The being with boundless power spoke again, this time with the voice of an elderly man filled with wisdom, "Take your time, child. Time is the last thing we lack now."
Raising his head to examine the being, Ron marveled at the galaxy-covered figure radiating immense power. Yet, he couldn't ignore the unfamiliar terms used by the being.
'Wait, did he just call me a child? I'm a bona fide 34-year-old man.'
'Worlds? So I'm not in another world? NOOOO—'
"Be quiet; your thoughts echo loudly in this dimension." The being halted Ron's thoughts.
'Huh? Oh, wait. Hello, hello, mic check.' Ron's thoughts echoed loudly, like surround sound in the boundless dimension.
"So where are we again? Right. Ron Sanchez, you have died."
Ron, now known as Ron Sanchez, replied, "Oh, I was expecting that, sir. It's weird how fast I gathered my thoughts just now, though."
"That is my work. My aura is peaceful and calm, allowing those around me to feel at peace. I won't harm you; I'm here to give you a second chance since you died prematurely."
'A second chance? How did I die? Wait, is that even important anymore? My life's pretty much average, and I have no one left, except regrets.'
The being, hearing Ron's thoughts, spoke again. "Now that you've sorted out your thoughts, let's move on to the part you're waiting for."
As a massive fan of anime, manga, and novels, Ron instantly understood what the being referred to.
"Sir, what kind of world will I get transported into?" Ron asked with excitement radiating from his soul.
"Everything will be decided by these wheels." The being waved its hand, and three massive wheels appeared, each as huge as a planet. In each wheel were divisions for characters, talents, items, and the names of every world Ron knew.
Ron's imagination ran wild. The being uttered the words Ron had been waiting for.
"Shall we start?"
