Chapter 2: ❤️ Mr. Blackwell
Nico’s p.o.v:
This is waste of time. I knew this but had to come because of dad. Honestly trying to get business through connection its such a lame thing instead they should invest all this in making their projects better, as always they suck. I could have done other important things than just sitting hearing the same contracts. I don’t understand why dad even asks me to go to such meetings.
“Mr Blackwell, I hope you will accept our proposal it will benefit both of us.” Mr Mathews said
Benefits both what do they think they can fool us around. I don’t see this will bring better profits.
“Please call me Nicolas, Mr Blackwell is my father. And we will let you know once I go through everything.” I said
“Sir you have to attend your brother’s photo gallery.” Steven my assistance informed me as we make our way out.
“You can go back, I’ll heading to the gallery.” I said walking towards my car.
I reached the gallery, Xander works at S&S company even though I can support him if he wants to have his own gallery but he wanted to earn the fame with his hard work and not from anyone’s support. Though S&S is one of the top companies in its own industry he got his job here with his own potential.
I was looking around at the photos when someone came from behind hitting my back. I know this was coming.
“You are here. I thought that I will also not show up. I feel like Aiden is the only one who cares about me enough to visit here.” He said
“ I was held up in a meeting.” I said
“You came empty-handed, even when you are late.”
“You really thought I would get you something.”
“Enough both of you. I knew he would not bring anything as he was caught up in the meeting and it would frustrate him enough for him to forget to get you something.” Aiden cut us before we get started.
Aiden is my best friend more like bother. We are friends since college years. We both completed our studies in business together and then took our own ways. I started to work at Blackwell Enterprise which I used to do before but now I had to take responsibility for my actions. He initially worked at a security agency and then he got to apply for as security manager at Blackwell Enterprise and now we work at the same place too.
He knows me well, even if someone says that he knows me better than myself I will not deny it.
“I’ll let you go this once.” Xander said."You have to stay you can’t run off now.”
“Do I have an option?” I said
“Well no my brother.” he said
I and Aiden sat in a corner waiting for Xander to finish
“You are coming this Thursday at the club, right?” Aiden asked
“I’m not sure, maybe no.” I said
“You can’t always back out, they all are asking for you and moreover its Will’s birthday.” He said
“You know I don’t drink during workdays, hen I have to work the next day.” I said trying to get out of this conversation.
“I know but you could at least show up. You can also take a break from your work.” He said
“Yes, but I- ”
“I don’t want to listen to your arguments nothing is important than yourself.” Aiden said cutting me and I have no other way to get out of this, he sure knows how to do that.
“Fine but I’ll leave in an hour no bargaining in this.” I said
“That’s good. No issues you can leave whenever you want I’ll not stop you.” He said
“Dinner at my place.” I said as we walked out.
“Great. I am always finding a way to be at your place, mine gives me a feeling of depression.” Xander said
“Then why don’t you both stay in one apartment?” Aiden asked though he knows the answer to that. He enjoys mocking me.
“Nah, he denies straight away. It's even harder to convince him to let me stay at his place for a night. And as for our parent's place, I would prefer my own place over there.” Xander said I know what he meant clearly.
We reached my apartment.
“I’ll freshen up.” I said as we entered.
After the tiring day, a bath can really calm my nerves. I took my time take to bath as I knew they would have ordered something by now. I got out and changed into sweatpants and t-shirt before heading out.
They both were sitting around the coffee table with the word game in middle. Honestly, I don’t know why I even have that here.
Oh yeah because my left this as a gift and its not good to throw away the gift. That’s what Xander said while stopping me from throwing that away. I too joined them.
“oh, we have ordered the food it will arrive soon.” Xander said. I know brother.
We sat there playing and talking, while awful words which never exist. The bell rang cutting our chattering.
“It must be food delivery.” Xander said
“Nico go get.” Aiden said
“What is this? Why should I go when I even didn’t get to select what I wanted to eat?” I complained. The bell rang again.
“You should go get it before they go back.” Xander said
I sighed and answered the door. They always team up against me on this.
We had our dinner, Pizza which I don’t even like. We sat playing COD. I received a call, it was mom. I left the game and moved away to answer it.
“What the hell! Why did you leave I died because of you.” Xander shouted from behind.
‘yes mom’
‘Hello dear, are you too busy to come to meet your mom?’
‘I’m sorry, just there is much work lately. I’ll sure visit you as I get free. You say, how are you?’
‘I’m good. Now, I called you to tell you that you remember the charity event is up next month, right?’
‘ yes, mom. I do remember.’
‘Then you have to attend it for sure. I’m telling you beforehand so that you don’t back out later. I’ll not listen to your excuse.’
I sighed I don’t like attending these events with all girls trying to hit up on me and others to set me up with their daughters. Mom knows why I don’t like attending them but she still does this. But I have no choice now.
‘Okay, mom I’ll come.’
‘That’s good, now I’ll not hold you, you can go back to what you were doing.’
‘Yes mom, take care.’
‘you too dear, bye.’
I hung up the call. I have to do something about this. It's really frustrating even more than attending those useless meetings. Mom never forced me to be in a relationship, but she never did anything when someone tries to set me up.
A relationship is waste of time. I would rather invest all time, money and energy in work which will do the company some good.
