Chapter 29: A Mistake Made

We got off the train and were met by Alex. His elegant ways were missed. I ran up and hugged him. He smiled and patted my head, however, something felt off. He seemed distant from the rest of us, A plastic face covering his usual cheeriness. He avoided eye contact the entire drive home. We stopped outside the house and everyone else went inside, I stopped Alex and asked:

"Want to tell me what's wrong Alex?"

He seemed caught off guard, took a step away from me, and then smiled.

"I can't hide anything from the young master, can I? I'm sorry for the distance Jason. Some things are better left undiscussed. Kindly allow me to handle my private affairs on my own." He coldly replied before heading into the house.

I was in shock at how he talked to me, I felt like that was not the Alex that I knew. I walked over to Yi Meng and tugged on her arm.

"Follow me please," I whispered.

She nodded and followed me to the garden. She looked concerned.
