Chapter 44: The Home of Royalty

We got off the plane at a run-down private field. A large SUV was waiting for us, and a group of armed guards stood by. The three of us got in and got comfortable. The driver was silent, just put a hand on his earpiece and started the car. We were in a two-car formation with our car being behind the lead car. The drive was quiet except for Amanda's happy humming, she seemed like a little kid with her attention jumping from thing to thing very quickly. I just stared out the window running every scenario that I could think of in my head and how I would respond. Lucille just kept tapping her fingers on her chin, lost in whatever she was thinking about. The drive felt as if it was taking forever when we turned down a large, paved road. It winded up towards a large ornate gate with a guardhouse to its right.

"Finally, we are here!" Amanda said excitedly, putting her phone in her pocket.
