Chapter 5: Serena

Serena could be considered as tall as Jeffrey, slim and petite with her long blue hair plaited in braids and tied in two piggy tails. She had two braids at the front which were neither tied nor pinned to the others. She was beautiful in her way but when compared with Moon she was a bit lackluster.

Though Jeffrey was always straightforward forward he always recognized the truth and would not call black or white Moon was a very pretty girl, her silver hair alone was enough to beat most girls her age but that did not mean Jeffrey would say his thoughts in front of her.

Serena strolled toward Jeffrey wearing a sunny smile on her face. "Hello, I'm Serena, don't mind whatever this idiot said about me, I'm sure it's nothing good. I think you're cute, how about we hang out sometime?"

Philip who was a bit tense before relaxed. How could he not know his friend? he stood at the side with a grin and watched the drama unfold.

Jeffery's eyes scanned Serena before he slowly opened his mouth. "Firstly I will ignore the fact that you're flirting with a 13-year-old boy. Secondly, I'm younger than you, if you're not being desperate then you must be pulling a joke, but I'm sorry I didn't quite understand"

Serena's face went dark while Philip was laughing his ass off, he always loved it when Jeffrey criticize with a straight face.

"How dare you say I'm desperate, do you know how many boys would line up just to get my number?" Serena scoffed.

"Am I supposed to know, we're not from the same dimension" Jeffrey said in confusion.

Serena's face fell since she could tell Jeffrey did not understand what she meant. "You know what, forget it maybe you don't see pretty girls often so you can't tell I'm way about average" she then said with a smug smile.

Jeffrey did not reply but just pulled out his phone from his bag and searched for Moon's picture, then he brought the phone directly in front of Serena's face.

Serena looked at the picture a bit surprised. "That is Shy-Girl, the author of 'Make Us One' why are you showing me this?"

"That's Moon, my sister" Jeffrey did not say more and figured she would understand on her own and she did but instead of turning ugly, her expression brightened up instead.

"Great, can you get me her autograph?"

Jeffrey just took back his phone and started walking towards the still-laughing Philip. "Had enough?"

Serena became angry after being ignored like that. "I'm talking to you"

Jeffrey was a bit annoyed by her childish behavior and turned to her. "This is our first meeting and the impression I have of you is a pampered and self-proclaimed loli. Don't make it get any worse"

Steam was almost coming out of Serena's ears. Self-proclaimed? she had never felt so humiliated and Jeffrey didn't care so she decided to vent her frustration on Philip.

"Laugh all you want but when dad gets back, you won't be able to laugh anymore"

"What are you gonna tell him? that I went out with a friend? I guess he would be excited when he finds out someone watched '365 days' despite his strict warning against it" Philip smirked and Serena's face turn pale.

"How did you find out?" Serena became nervous. Her dad would be seriously annoyed when he finds out. She was only fifteen and yet she watched the movie secretly, even their eldest brother won't side with her. "I didn't mean to I swear Mitchell and Brenda forced me to watch it"

"That is not my problem. Just know I have something on you as well, now shoo" Philip said and sent her away. "Now she's gone, where's Wex, you didn't bring him?"

Jeffrey opened his bag and Wex jumped out and climbed up his hand.

"Hey, little guy" Philip chuckled. He couldn't believe Jeffrey was hiding the weasel inside his bag. But it was a good thing because if Serena had seen Wex then he wouldn't have been able to get rid of her so quickly. The girl liked cute things after all and Jeffrey didn't like others touching his pet.

"Let go to the arcade, there's a new game for you to try" Philip rubbed his hands together excitedly.

"Hold on, I got you the latest volume" Jeffrey stopped his excitement and proceeded to bring out the comic he purchased earlier.

Philip's eyes widened in excitement when he heard what Jeffrey said. He collected the comic and hugged it like his long-lost love. "Thanks Jeff"

"Fishbone will be holding a book signing session next week so you'll meet your favorite writer" Jeffrey shrugged.

"Woah, nice, I'll be there" Philip sighed before he continued. "This is the only reason I'm jealous of your dimension, otherwise we have everything here"

"So what, a beautiful cage is also a cage nothing to brag about. Unlike us you viewers are only limited to the viewer's dimension" Jeffrey replied nonchalantly.

"Now you're making me feel bad," Philip said with a sad expression.

Jeffrey turned to him and rolled his eyes. Philip was a critic's son and unlike regular viewers, critics had certain privileges, although not as diverse as writers, they had the freedom to an extent. "Stop being dramatic you've been to a lot of other dimensions".

Philip then changed the topic as they made their way toward the arcade. "I checked out A Mecha's Will, looks like your dad will be ending the book soon"

Jeffery's dad was an author that was specialized in writing novels in the sci-fi genre. His novel was extremely popular among boys and even some girls.

Though Jeffrey never acted like it, he was living with celebrities. His mother's pen name was Phoenix-Feathers and she was the author of 'Together Since Young' a novel with 17 million views, even Moon's book had about 5 million views so yeah he was living with celebrities but he never really cared.
