Chapter 2: Life at Camp
It had been a week since Mira had arrived at the camp. Mira had not been having a great experience so far. She had been ostracized by most of the camp. A few people would talk to Mira, people such as, Annabeth, Will Solace, and Luke. Currently, Mira was sitting at the edge of the lake, just looking at the water.
Annabeth approached Mira as she saw that she was sitting by the lake alone.
"Hey Mira, how you doing?"
"I'm more or less fine. I'm just sitting here because I prefer this place to the constant....tension between me and the other campers."
"I suppose that could make being here hard."
Annabeth sat down next to Mira, gazing at the lake just like her. Annabeth had been conflicted all week. For one, she liked Mira, she was a good friend for her, yet Annabeth had this feeling that Mira wasn't someone trustworthy. She never bought into it because she just assumed her godly side was reacting to Mira's titan side. Annabeth decided to make a bit of small talk as she began to feel awkward just sitting staring at a lake.
"Soo, we've got Capture the Flag today."
"That's true, it will be nice to blow off some steam. Anyway, hows that new kid, Percy I think his name was?"
"He's doing fine, he's with the Hermes kids as he hasn't been claimed."
"Hmm...Well that's nice I suppose."
Mira, done with small talk, stood up and gave a hand to Annabeth to help her up. She simply took the hand before asking where they were going. Mira told her that they would be going to spar as she couldn't wait until tonight to hit something.
Mira and Annabeth stood in an arena, both without weapons. The arena's bell sounded and both fighters ran towards eachother. The fighters sent fist after fist at eachother, only for the other to parry each time. This went on until Mira decided to try something risky. Seperating for a brief moment, she simply jumped up and used Annabeth's chest as a backboard to backflip through the air. She landed to see Annabeth recovering from the attack. This went on for half an hour until Mira suddenly said to stop. Annabeth asked why and Mira just said that they had 2 hours until Capture the Flag and she didn't want Annabeth or herself to still be tired from their little spar.
Mira and Annabeth left the arena together. They went and got two bottles of water from the gift shop. Mira quickly drank her whole bottle while Annabeth wasn't much better, if only a little more modest. They both went back down to the lake to wait for Capture the Flag. They stayed at the lake, simply talking to one another while waiting for Capture the Flag to begin.

The sound of a horn filled the air. Mira and Annabeth got up from the lake's shore and went to their fortress to get prepared and plan a strategy. Once everyone was prepared, a second horn sounded to start the game.
Mira was on the front line. Scythe in hand, Mira ran as fast as she could towards the enemy base, sparing a glance at the new kid who was stationed at the rivers edge. She arrived at the enemy base only to have to fend off against several Ares kids. Two kids rushed at her while four of them stayed back. Twirling her scythe as she usually did, she waited for the two to arrive at her. When the people were close enough, Mira shot off the ground and went through the middle of the two demigods. Before the demigods could turn around Mira had already sliced at their legs, severing a few nerves to make it very difficult to stand. The two demigods collapsed and Mira looked towards the four who had stayed back.
She was about to cut them aswell when Luke suddenly ran out from behind them, holding the Ares flag in his hand. The demigods stared at that in shock when suddenly, people heard the cry of a bloodhound. Mira's eyes narrowed when she heard this. She rushed to where she heard the cry. Once she arrived, what she saw was the new kid, Percy, standing in the river with the claiming symbol of Posiedon above his head.
Everyone began clapping at the child of one of the eldest gods. Mira felt a bit sour at this as she knew that a child of the big three wasn't a good thing. She was also a bit sour because she was booed and such when she got claimed. Shaking her head, she walks back to the lake to be alone and try to not stab something. Annabeth seeing her walk off followed her.

Sitting down at the lake, Mira was looking at the golden pink sky. Hearing footsteps, Mira looked towards them to see Annabeth. She smiled slightly seeing her best friend.
"Hey Mira, how you doing?"
"I'm doing better after I cooled off a bit. It just kinda pissed me off that all I got were boos and scared or threatening looks when I got claimed, and the new kid got everyong clapping and shit."
"I'm not going to pretend that I know what that's like Mir (Its pronounced Mear) but I can say that I don't care that your Kronos' daughter. Your my friend and your parent won't change that."
Smiling lightly at that, Mira motioned for Annabeth to lay next to her.
"I just don't understand, I mean everyone thinks it so great to have a son of Posiedon at camp. Everyone seems to forget about the pact that the eldest brothers made."
"I suppose your right about that, but unlike Percy, you have a great best friend"
"Yeah, Will is pretty great."
This comment caused Annabeth to scowl a bit. Mira chuckled at that reaction and told her that she should know it was only a joke. Looking at the night sky, Mira got up whilst helping Annabeth up aswell. They both went to their respective cabins, well Mira went to the big house as the camp refused to make a Cabin for Kronos. Mira quickly hugged Annabeth goodbye before heading to the big house and going to sleep.
