Chapter 71: Chapter 0: Info-Dump

Star Dou Forest is one of the Douluo Continent's most famous great spirit beast habitats, located southeast of Balak Kingdom, with Suotou City lying less than five hundred kilometers near it.
The area it covers is practically equal if not greater than the Balak Kingdom's territory, spanning the border of Heaven Dou Empire and Star Luo Empire. Within it, two-fifths of the area is in Heaven Dou Empire while the other three-fifths lie in Star Luo Empire.
It's an immense primeval forest, the forest's interior terrain is complicated, with wetlands, swamps, thick grooves, and even some mountains, lakes springs, pools, and so on. The spirit beasts there are known for their viciousness and killing intent, which is just the human viewpoint.
Basically, the humans expect themselves above everything and think that the beasts should roll over and die when the humans come to hunt them and when the beasts retaliate, they are termed 'vicious'. It's basically eating chicken while blaming the tiger for killing a deer, but it's all human psychology and hypocrisy.
The spirit beasts are extremely terrifying and they grow stronger as they age and gather spirit energy to mature. But as long as a Spirit Master has the requisite power and a bit of good luck, they can find the most suitable Spirit Ring for themselves. The closer to the center of the forest, the more powerful the spirit beasts.
Legends even say that inside the depths of the forest reside the hundred-thousand-year spirit beasts.
Spirit Beasts are creatures native to the Douluo Planet, they were born after god aura and divine beast aura leaked out from the Douluo Divine Realm onto the planet. They were regarded as the first inhabitants of the planet before spirit masters appeared.
There is a wide range of spirit beasts from different types to different species. They live in many different environments. The most common ones are the ocean and the forests. The most powerful spirit beasts are those that have cultivated to the 200,000-year-old level without taking a human form, they are referred to as Great Beasts like Da Ming, Er Ming, Bi Ji, and Thomas who will pop in as the Golden Tree.
[A/N: Before going into the plot, let me explain a bit about the spirit rings and ranks so that the folks who don't know about it can understand the power scale, and for the guys who know, just read it again to refresh your memories.]
When a spirit beast dies, they drop something called a spirit ring. This ring contains all the cultivation, the spirit beast has accumulated throughout its life as well as the innate ability it was born with. The grade of the ring is determined by the spirit beast's age or cultivation level. Spirit Masters kill spirit beasts for their spirit rings. They need one at each 10th bottleneck. Basically, at rank 10, 20, 30, 40, and so on till 90 when one becomes a Title Douluo and looks for a god seat to ascend to the divine realm.
Each and every human has their own spirit, they can be of the beast, tool, or auxiliary category but what separates a commoner from a Spirit Master is the presence of Spirit Power in them. Even if they have 1 spirit power in them at their Spirit Awakening, they can cultivate as Spirit Masters and scale ranks as they cultivate to become stronger.

<30 to 39> Spirit Elder.
<40 to 49> Spirit Ancestor.

<80 to 89> Spirit Douluo.
<90 to 94> Titled Douluo.
<95 to 98> Hyper Douluo.
99 Limit Douluo.
100 God.

So, the plot will be following soul land 1 where Bibi Dong will be replaced by Helena and when she goes to the Star Dou forest, she will find Thomas and the plot will unfold.
Part 1 will end and Helena will return back to Kami-sama but Thomas will be doing other things, and after 10,000 years, Gu Yuena will awaken and the plot will begin.
They will start off as friends and the romance will develop very slowly because I want to build it up instead of rushing it. There are a lot of time to spare and a lot more worlds to visit, so stay tuned.
And don't worry, I am not going to do any cliché shit over here, only exclusive stuff over here…
P.S. Someone might have posted a review for someone else on my story. How did I know? Simple, I have never been to DxD and I don't have a harem and I really don't waste wishes, right?
