Chapter 69: Chapter 24: Wrapping up Loose Ends.

A few weeks have passed since the night of attack on the Yaoyorozu Manor, Yuki looked like someone who would die in a few days and even the doctor were unable to do anything about it.

The media being resourceful enough caught wind of this news and made a huge deal out of the scoop. The Yaoyorozu family was on it's wits end while the people in THANATOS were going nuts over trying to research the reason for his ailments and possible remedies.

Yuki just smiled and lived life carefree, one could really be jealous of him to know of his retirement at the age of 17 if they did not know about his arduous efforts for the last ten years, the netizens started calling him Guardian Angel and his popularity was at an all-time high.

Most of his time was spent with Eri and the rest was with his family or the rare occasion of him looking over the business and make adjustments or give advises.

Eri was slowly mastering her quirk and could make both animate and inanimate objects move back in time, like a tree turning back into a sapling, a spoon into unprocessed ore of iron. She could fix wounds and broken items, no matter how old the wounds are or how much time has passed since the damage was done.

Eri could control her quirk and keep de-aging the object till it returns to the state where it was good and functionable. Yuki took advantage of that and made her restore a pair of old English rifles that he bought from an auction. Her quirk was absolutely god-tiered, she had control over the aspect of time.

Yuki taught her about the ways of the world as she slowly formed a moral compass to judge right from wrong, and one fine morning Yuki decided to visit Tartarus. The high-security prison to hold the most high-profile criminals, it was an offshore facility that held it's captives a thousand feet below the ocean.

His first meeting was with Shigaraki Tomura, a poor soul that has seen too much of darkness at a very tender age with no one to stand beside him, and the one who stood there for him guided him astray.

With a lot of mental health counseling and a ton of visits from Yuki himself Tomura changed for the better, the hardest part was breaking it to him that his only pillar of life had manipulated him, played him like a fiddle as he held the strings and let him dance to his tunes.

The boy was broken like a porcelain doll, it took a great deal of time and patience to deal with him and even All Might stepped up to make amends to their estranged relationship. It took a while but he accepted his old name and All Might as his guardian, a father figure he could look up to and depend on. Yuki had taken OFA from All Might who was more than willing to let go of his burdens, now that his mission was complete, with OFA no more and there is no longer a reason for AFO's existence.

Then came the hardest part of his quest, to make Shigaraki Sr. or OFA realize his wrongs and turn him to the path of life and light.

In AFO's cell:

Yuki entered the room to find a fairly handsome man in prisoner garbs, the man looked up at Yuki and smiled, "welcome to my humble abode, sorry for the poor welcoming but I am not quite in the proper condition to accommodate my guests. But thanks for paying a visit to your vanquished foe."

AFO spoke in a light voice that was far different from the raspy one he spoke in at the previous encounter. Yuki returned the smile and sat down on the empty chair of the minimalistic room.

"I hope the few weeks have given you some time to think over your life, now that you don't have your quirk and the injuries, what is it that you wish from the world?" Yuki spoke.

"A peaceful end, I know that the history and the people won't be kind to me but I wish to leave this world on my own terms. I don't know how you removed my quirk, but I don't wish to know, there is a slight disappointment that could not realize my dreams, but I don't blame you for it, nor do I resent you for my capture and eventual death. I have overstayed my welcome in this world and there is a lot that I owe to it, my hands are stained by innocent blood."

"There is no redemption for me, only the path of death, and I will not fear it anymore. I have learned a lot in these few weeks of my powerless confinement with an imminent death sentence on my head. I have seen much that I have neglected, I regret a lot of things, my powers had clouded my eyes and I lost my way, from the beautiful dream of equality, peace and understanding for between the normal and meta folks to world subjugation and domination."

"Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, how true…" Shigaraki sighed.

"Welcome to the club, congratulations, you have finally come to the light side, we have candies." Yuki said with a kind smile.

"Since you have the heart to confess, let me say something as well…" Yuki said as he stood up and walked behind the chair.

"I don't belong to this world, and my body can no longer hold my powers, it's corroding as my powers grow stronger and my regenerative factor can no longer hold it anymore. I am dying, and nothing can stop it anymore, no matter how much I desire to stay a little longer, I can't…" Yuki sighed.

"You look awfully human to be an alien." Shigaraki stated with a curious face.

"Thank you for the compliment, but I am not an alien per se, I am an angel who came here to fix things. My powers don't come from my body, they are from my soul and the mortal vessel is not cutting it anymore and for that I have a proposition to make." Yuki started floating around.

"Stop floating around, it's making me dizzy and what proposition do you have for me? I no longer have the OFA to give you a quirk to solve your problem." Shigaraki shrugged.

"Live on for my sake, live in my place where I die in yours. Let me bear your end as I gift you my life." Yuki said with a bright smile.

Shigaraki was stunned, shocked to the point of doubting his hearing and reasoning. "Why on earth would you do something like that for me, did you hit your head or something? I am One For All, the biggest and vilest villain on earth, just how could you forgive me like this? Why are you forgiving me like this? I don't deserve it, Don't be kind to me, I am not worth it. A fitting end awaits me, an end of condemnation, an end that will deter those who dare have thoughts of taking my path."

"Leave me alone Yaoyorozu or whatever your name is…" Shigaraki screamed as tears fell from his eyes that looked borderline hysteric.

Yuki smiled and approached him, Shigaraki flinched when Yuki was about to touch his head but he could not. "It's all right Shigaraki, it all starts from one. I choose to forgive you and give you a second chance at life and for the 'why'… It's because I don't want my family to be sad about my death and you really deserve a second chance. Despite all your wrongs, I see the good in you, the potential to be so much more."

Yuki stretched his hand and smiled, "Take my hand and promise me just one thing, take care of this world and my family… no take care of our family, since you are going to switch with me."

Shigaraki bawled as he looked into Yuki's eyes with hope, fear, guilt and gratitude. The two shook their hands and their souls switched.

"The time is almost over and remember, it's hard to walk the path of light but it is certainly more rewarding. Don't go around ruining my image will you, I would feel second hand embarrassment if you did something stupid, so be careful okay?" Yuki said as the guards came in to escort Shigaraki or currently Yuki out.

"How on earth am I going to manage that, you are supposed to be a business prodigy and I don't know anything about your personal life and all that. Can you be a little more serious about it?" Yuki(Shigaraki) asked with a severe headache thinking about all the problems he would face.

"Just say that you came here and gave your quirk to me because it was harming you and because of the quirk removal, your memories are fuzzy, easy right? And you are supposed to be a evil mastermind, so just deal with things as they come.

"Goodbye Yuki Yaorozu, look after the world, I shall take my leave and I wish you find a beautiful life ahead of you." Shigaraki (Yuki) said with a smile.
