Chapter 4: Becoming A Whole Again

<Somewhere in the void>

"Haha, what a unique soul!"

God uttered with an amused expression on his featureless face while looking at Dave through a strange piece of material. Then he moved forward, passing a few galaxies in the process.

"I would love to see his face when he learns that the Ninja World's Naruto is actually him."

"Now that I look closer, it seems his soul hasn't fully reunited with his other part yet. Well, I suppose this makes things a little less interesting."

He said while looking at something that seemed far away. Then he waved his hand, releasing a tiny needle-like projection towards the void, speeding towards a particular destination.

<Konoha – Next Morning>

<Naruto/Dave Pov>

*Yawn*

I opened my eyes after an excellent night of sleep, only to be greeted by a wooden ceiling. Last night I felt exhausted after conversing with Kurama. It seems that entering the seal consumes a considerable amount of mental energy.

I mean, I am in the body of a five-year-old; what can I expect? Honestly, my body's stamina is pretty shitty, and most importantly, my chakra is a mess. I can solve the chakra problem with Kurama, but what do I do about the stamina problem?

Well, I really have to exercise, don't I?

*Yawn*

Mmm, I really didn't have any plans for today except for training with Kurama, so I think I'll take a good look around the village.

Then I ran towards the closet and started sorting through the clothes. Luckily, I couldn't find the famous Naruto jumpsuit. I guess Naruto bought it later. Let's face it, It was ugly as hell.

After selecting a simple white shirt and a pair of blue shorts, I started searching for some food. You guessed it: indeed, there were only ramen noodle cups there. But I gotta say, they tasted heavenly. I think Naruto's and my tastes are pretty similar.

While walking throughout the village, I got many harmful, intent-filled stares. I couldn't help but be disappointed by their ignorance. If anything, I am the prison of the killer of your friends and family. However, I can sympathize with them a bit since I clearly know how it feels to lose a loved one all too well. Let's just keep the depressing thoughts aside.

I got to see many significant places throughout my walk. The Hokage building, Ichiraku ramen shop, hot springs, Konoha cemetery, and many more. When I finally reached the academy, it was evening, everyone had gone home, and no one could be seen in the streets. A bit further away from the academy, I found the most iconic place in Naruto.

THE SWING!!

It looked marvelous with the orange sunlight falling on it. I was eager to try it out. But I didn't have the luxury, as my body went limp after I felt something pierce my brain. My mind started racing as I tried to make sense of what had happened.

'Was I attacked? What's happ----'

That was my last thought before I was hit with tremendous pain. I felt like my soul was being torn over and over. Yet, I couldn't move or scream.

I really wanted to scream my heart out. I really did. But the reality was not kind to me. Never have I ever felt helpless like this before. The last thing I remembered when my mind became hazy was the setting sun.

Even Kurama was alarmed but could only helplessly watch how things played out.

<Pov End>

A few Anbu observing him from far away noticed this abnormality and hurriedly reached Naruto. They quickly sent him to the Konoha hospital after seeing his unresponsive state. Following that, they reported everything to the Hokage, who listened with a worried face. What he was concerned about, no one knows…

<Konoha Hospital – A while after admitting Naruto>

Naruto could be seen lying in a bed covered with a white blanket. His whole body was pale like some vampire had sucked his blood dry. The nurses of the medic corps were startled seeing him. No matter how much they examined him, they couldn't clearly identify the problem. So they could only provide him with essential treatments and let him rest.

After about an hour, everyone could see that his complexion was returning to usual little by little. They sighed in relief and went back to their work. And 'no,' they felt relieved because they got the order directly from the Hokage. If the medical corps somehow messed it up, they would be in a lot of trouble.

Seconds turned into minutes, minutes turned into hours, and finally, morning came.

A five-year-old kid with blond hair and blue eyes suddenly jolted awake from bed. It was none other than Naruto.

"Arrrgh! My head!!!"

"What happened to me? I can't remember anything."

Naruto mumbled while looking around his bead, wanting to find some clues.

"Errrrr wait..... who am, I?"

He was baffled right now. Was he Dave? , Was he Naruto?

Then it clicked for him. He is not Dave anymore. He was something more like a middle ground between the two souls. No, it's better to say he became whole after the incident.

"Naruto"

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki."

He uttered.

'I am Naruto, yet at the same time, I am not exactly the same. I have no doubt that I have lived another life. I also have memories to back it up. What's more, I feel strangely complete.'

Naruto thought to himself with a solemn look in his eyes.

What Naruto didn't know was that God helped him fuse his soul. However, it's arguable that he would be willing to call it 'help,' considering how much torture he went through when that happened.

Naruto took a moment to go through his unorganized memories again. It was a mess there. 'I guess I need time to clearly make out my memories,' He thought.

Then he started to go down from his bed like descending from a great cliff since he was still pretty short.

As usual, he got many stares that could kill him when he made his way through the hospital. 'Heartless bastards,' he thought. Hell, even the nurses didn't look after him much: the very people who had sworn to protect any life. He doubted that someone would even treat him if it weren't for the Hokage's order.

But he knew how hypocritical the person who looked after him was after going through his memory. He couldn't say he hated him or had any positive feelings for him. It was just a business deal based on a promise to his father. Nothing more, nothing less. Naruto knew that he couldn't expect more.

Naruto felt like his body was still not tuned up after the incident. So he walked through the streets aimlessly, not giving a sh*t about the gazes. Unknowingly, he arrived at his favorite place again. You guessed it, good old swing.

He walked like a spy in the movies, looking all around while holding onto his head. He was afraid that something would hit him again. But seeing nothing happen, Naruto relaxed and sat on the swing. It was oddly comforting, and he liked it a lot. So he decided to come here when he had spare time.

Then he stood up and ran toward his apartment to talk with Kurama again after suddenly remembering what had happened the day before. 'Kurama must be freaking out right now.' Naruto thought.
