Chapter 4: 4. FIGHT OR FLIGHT
"I can't believe I'm doing this." I turned to face the large dog that was charging towards us.
"Kate help me!" Sophie screamed
I brought out the large kitchen knife and charged towards the grey dog.
Seeing me coming it opened it's large mouth to finish me off in one strike.
Unfortunately for it I was swift to dodge it's bite.
"Run Sophie! I'll meet you later!" I screamed at Sophie signalling for her to leave me.
"But..."
"Just run!" I screamed.
The large grey dog attacked me again, this time with it's sharp claws
*Sching!*
The sound of metal clashing against metal was heard as I blocked it's attack
It attacked again with it's claws
*Sching!*
Surprisingly the large dog was very slow albeit I had blocked the attack I was still sent flying due to the weak body of girls.
"Arghhh!!" I screamed in pains.
But the large dog didn't stop there, seeing it's meal on the floor defenseless it decided to give the last blow.
Stomping it's feet to the ground, it intended on finishing me off
*Don!*
I had successfully dodged the attack that created ripples on the floor.
"You filthy dog, you just tried to kill me, be a gentledog and let this beautiful lady over here end your life." I said charging towards the dog again.
The large dog swung it's huge claws at me, I leaped into the air and surprisingly this body could do that just fine.
Landing on the mutated dog's back, I dipped my knife into it's thick skin, but I was stunned that my first blow did just a little damage as a small cut was seen at the back of the dog.
"Howl!!" it howled in pain shaking it's body to get rid of the person that was taking a free ride.
"Damn, how am I supposed to kill it now!" I cursed at it. it seemed like it was impossible for me to kill this mutated monster
"If I give up now, I'll probably just die a loser again and I can't afford to do that."
The mutated dog's gaze fell on the one who just tried to kill it, and I could tell from the look on it's eyes that it's bloodlust was at it's peak
"Let's try that again." I charged towards the mutated dog with full speed, and this time it didn't wait for me to get in close distance with it as it released a very powerful strike.
"Arghhh!!" I screamed in pain as my skin was cut by an invisible force.
"What the fuck was that... So you get superpowers too, isn't this cheating"
*Grrrr!!* the mutated dog charged at me, I tried to move but I couldn't, it was like the power the dog had used on me had a paralyzing effect.
"Am I going to die again?"
The mutated dog closed it's distance with me, it opened it's huge jaws for a quick bite.
*Pang!*
Surprisingly someone had thrown a frying pan which collided with the dog's face.
*Grrrr!!*
The mutated dog shifted it's gaze towards the culprit
'Even if she was dumb, she still gave me a little more time to live.'
The mutated dog sprinted towards Sophie's direction.
Sophie acted on instinct and began running while screaming
"Ahhhh!! help! help me!"
"What was this girl trying to do, attract more zombies." I had to do something about it before backup would arrive, I struggled to stand to my feet and surprisingly it worked.
"Hey ugly face, why don't you pick on someone your-Oh shit!" the dog was pissed by my complement and made me his Target.
I held my knife upright waiting for it to close it's distance
"It's got to have some weak point, maybe it's abdomen."
When the dog had closed it's distance, it leaped to the air trying to pounce on me but I dodged it and slashed at it's abdomen.
"Hoowwl!!" the mutated dog gave an ear deafening howl.
"Got it's weak point!"
"Kate are you ok!" Sophie shouted from a safe distance
"I'm okay, just don't make too much noise to avoid attracting more zombies!" I said
"Oh... ok!" Sophie yelled
"Girls are dumb."
*Grrrr!!* *Grrrr!!*
"I thought you were dead, back for more, aren't you?"
It charged towards me again, and I did the same.
At a close distance, it swung it's claws at me, I did a barrel roll towards it's stomach and pierced it abdomen this time with every bit of my strength
*Howl!!* *Howl!!* *Howl!!*
It let out a pained filled howl before falling to the floor accepting it's fate.

Seeing all the notifications on screen didn't bother me as I was really exhausted from fighting the mutated dog, and I didn't know if it was actually me or this body was pretty weak.
"Kate are you ok?" Sophie ran towards me with a worried look on her face
"Yeah I'm fine."
"You're pretty tough, I didn't know you knew martial arts."
"I don't either, I guess it's the adrenaline rush."
"Either way you looked cool swinging that knife around." Sophie said
*Grrrr!!* *Grrrr!!* *Grrrr!!*
We heard numerous growling sound
"Kate..."
"Not another mutated dog." they were about fifteen more mutated dogs and they weren't as huge as the first one
"Kate I think you killed their mama." Sophie said
"Damn Sophie run!" I was really exhausted and I wasn't stupid enough to take them all at once.
We ran as fast as we could with Sophie carrying a large backpack which weighed her down and I was really exhausted.
Suddenly one of the mutated dog leaped In for a bite, I reacted on instinct slashing at the dog's throat, it fell to the floor
