Chapter 29: Treating Kim

*Vroom

The bus came straight towards Jason causing the group of people surrounding him to jump away with expiration all over their face.

"Big Sis we get it you are here to get your partners but is there a need to be so damn aggressive!" One of the gang members could not help but mutter when he saw Arya through the almost transparent windows of the bus, he jumped hastily to avoid getting rammed by the bus.

*screech

The bus came to a skidding stop right in front of him. Harry opened the door and said " Come on inside"

"Sayonara brothers!" Jason waved at the group of people with a smirk on his face and then walked towards Kim.

Jason gently took Kim in his arms and carried her inside the bus and laid her on one of the seats.

When Harry saw the state Kim was in, their eyes widened. Arya, on the other hand, could not hold back her tears on seeing her sister in such a terrible state.

"How!?" Arya asked with a pained voice.

"Don't worry she'll be alright" Jason said in a low voice. " Just drive for now I have a way to treat her injuries"

On hearing that Arya finally calmed down and then put the bus on the reverse and turned again causing the group of people to scatter around to avoid being hit by this violent lady.

As they came out of the stronghold Jason turned to Harry and said.

"Map the directions to my sister's school and on the way find a fueling station for the bus and a jewellery store. Also, don't disturb me for some time I'm going to treat Kim's injuries"

Arya looked back and her face gained a concerned look, it looked like as if she wanted to say something but she held back when she heard Jason.

Treating her injuries will be tedious and gruesome at the same time, he did not want Arya to go through it so he'll have to take up the mantle and treat her.

Jason brought Kim to the back of the bus there they had the last seat joined to it will have to work as a makeshift bed for her.

Jason bought a plucker from the system store and he also took water and some wet wipes harry got from the mall.

He first tore a packet of wet wipes and wiped her torn-up face with them and cleared the dust and grime from her face.

When he was done there were bloodstained wipes lying around him. He knew that he could just apply the healing cream but cleaning the wound might give her a better chance of recovering without any scars.

He then took out the healing cream and took some of it on a wipe and applied gently on the torn-up areas.

After working on it for some time it, he finally applied for the medicine on all the wounds on her face now it was the turn for her leg. He'll have to pluck all the metal shard that was logged her leg one at a time till all of them are removed to help her make full recovery. He grit his teeth and readied himself for what was to come next.

Jason inhaled loudly as he wiped the sweat of his brows while the task was not physically tasking but it did take its toll on him mentally.

Now he had finally applied the healing cream on all her wound and covered them in a makeshift way with some paper towels he could find in the back of the bus. He really had to commend Harry for his foresight he had taken all the little things that would come in handy later from the mall. He had really forgotten about them he only thought about the main things that could help them survive.

"How much time will it take for her to heal," Jason asked the system.

"Considering the severity of her wounds and the effectiveness of the healing cream, it would take approximately 30 minutes for her to heal.

Jason let out a sigh of relief, it meant she would be up on her feet in no time.

Now that he had thought about it, the system had become quite elaborate in its explanations ever since its consciousness was unlocked. Before this, it would have just replied with a simple "30 minute".

"It's time to look at the changes I got from mana bead" Jason turned his attention to his body and he could feel that he had gained a minor power upgrade and he could now stay in super speed for longer. But during this rescue mission, he noticed a huge flaw in the implementation of his powers. During this all he was doing was going to the extremes of his powers, he either would go super fast or he would either use none of his powers. While it gave him quite a short term power shot that gave him immense speed but using it put quite a toll on his body and it only gave him a little number of power shots.

This switch on or off implementation either made him super powerful when on and a normal human when off.

He will have to think of another way of implementing it where he can control the amount of power he uses.

"Maybe imagining it as a speedometer with a dial would work" Jason muttered to himself as he changed the switch image of his powers to a speedometer dial one.

He imagined the dial to be just above the lowest value in the dial and looked around. The world around him did not change a lot, it had just become a bit slower, it was barely noticeable but it was there.

Just as he slipped a little bit of his concentration the world around him came to almost a pause with all things moving slowly.

"I need to learn to control it again," Jason said with an exasperated sigh.
