Chapter 7: Fire, water, earth. The first fight
The students sat quietly in an arena reminiscent of the Colosseum. In the king's place were William and Felix. Although instead of wine, there were just bottles of water in front of them, and they were dressed just in black clothes.
"Fights two by two are declared open," William said. "Don't worry, this and the other 3 tests will not directly affect your distribution. We will not look at how many times you will be the best during these tests. We are interested in completely different things."
"And what kind of things is a completely different question," continued Felix. "So put all unnecessary things out of your head and be yourself."
The first team was already ready for battle. A transparent plaque appeared in the air with the names of the members of the first group.
Team 1a: Zen & Lauren
Team 1b: Alex & Kano
Zen and Lauren exited from the left side of the arena. Alex and Kano were on the right.
"Duel number one has begun. You have 3 minutes. Good luck, guys!" Felix shouted and sat down in his place.
Zen raised his hand and a pillar of fire rose from where he stood to where Alex and Kano were standing. It went right between Kano and Alex. They reacted automatically and jumped back. Another pillar of fire formed in the middle of the vertical line, after which the arena seemed to be divided into 4 parts. Above, there could be seen a huge burning cross.
"Wow, that's strong," David said.
"I see, he is a man of art," Ksyu reacted.
"He just likes to show off," David replied.
"He is powerful," Aram thought.
"Not bad, but I don't think it will be enough. Let's wait for the second guy to do something", Reia said.
"This is Lauren, so you can think that Alex and Kano are already finished. They don't have a chance. None of them," said Ksyu.
"Does he have any special superpower?" Reia asked.
"Now you will understand everything."
Suddenly, bandages appeared on the bodies of Kano and Alex. They enveloped the bodies of both guys, leaving only the nostrils and eyes open. Meanwhile, Alex closed his eyes and an umbrella appeared in front of him. He took it in his left hand and began to wave it. Water was pouring from the umbrella.
"He puts out the fire. It is lucky that he has such an active ability like water," David said.
"Yes, but it doesn't matter," Ksyu replied.
"Uh, boring," Reia said.
Suddenly there was an explosion behind Kano and Alex. The next explosion struck right in front of them. But they paid no attention to them.
"Fearless guys, however," said Aram.
"Yes, yes," Ksyu said.
Alex closed his eyes and the umbrella turned into a bow and arrow. He tightened his bow, and it went through the entire arena and plunged into Zen's body.
"Oh my... He will kill him!" Aram shouted.
Everyone began to actively discuss the fight. The audience was thrilled.
After 2 seconds, the arrow went through Zen's body.
"What?" David was surprised.
"What is this superpower? Can he pass objects through himself? Or is there some other mysterious thing behind this?" Reia asked.
Alex didn't expect to accidentally kill Zen. He began to run towards him until he noticed that the arrow went through Zen.
"What kind of game is it?" Alex was a little shocked.
"Shoot a few arrows at him and his friend. If his ability helps him to dematerialize himself, but he is not too strong, then they both will not be saved from all your arrows at the same time," Kano advised.
"Yes, you are right."
Alex fired two arrows at Zen and Lauren. But they again went through their bodies.
"Heck!" Alex shouted and directed his hand forward.
Water began to accumulate in his hand and took the form of a small ball flying towards Zen and Lauren. But the water, like the arrows, went through the boys.
"What the hell!"
"We'll have to get closer."
Alex and Kano started running straight towards their opponents.
"Where are they going so fast?" David did not understand what was happening.
"To their loss, ahahah," Ksyu laughed.
"Why doesn't he throw fire again?" Kano could not understand what was going on.
"Why are they standing still so calmly?" Why aren't they moving, Kano?
"I have no ide…."
Before Kano could finish, they both fell into a huge hole.
"What the hell is this pit? Where did it come from?" Alex began to shout.
"We lost," said Kano, pointing up.
Zen stood upstairs, fire blazing in his hand.
"Stop! Time is over!" said Felix. "Our first winners are Zen and Lauren. Congratulations."
"Damn, damn, damn!" Alex shouted.
"We lost."
"How could they not notice this huge pit?" David wondered.
"Everything is very simple. Lauren has such a superpower," replied Ksyu.
"Something like hallucinations, right?" Reia said.
"Yeah," continued Ksyu. "Most people use such superpowers to create scary, frightening hallucinations. But Lauren is cunning. On the contrary, he created an explosion and covered it up with a hallucination. So the guys just didn't know about the existence of this pit. But the explosion was a too big thing, and they could not hide it from our eyes."
"And they themselves stood in a completely different direction, creating a hallucination of themselves and waiting for the moment when their rivals decided to attack them."
"Cool superpower," Aram said. "If everyone here has such powerful superpowers, then today's battles will be very interesting."
"The only one you need to worry about is sitting next to you!" David shouted, glancing viciously at Aram.
"Worry yourself, understand!"
"Worry yourself, understand," David mimicked him.
"Boys, wait a little, you will soon show each other your mini powers," Ksyu interrupted them.
Suddenly, a voice rang out in the heads of Aram, Reia, David, and Ksyu.
"Team two, get ready. You are next."
