Chapter 18: 16. The devil whispered

In the epicenter of this storm, Silver, suspended in a far more violent storm than the rest, her flesh being torn and healed just as quiclly, with each bit of mana absorbed it causea her flesh to burst and grow rapidly, but she isnt aware, having been drawn to a different realm, Slowly, she opens her eyes, in this place her mind now resides in, blinking slowly, as if waking up after a long rest. The first thing she can see, is a row of stone, and ancient seats, filled with cloaked beings shrouded heavily in darkness. "Who do you think you are? A god? To chase death so swiftly, time and time again?" An elderly mans voice can be heard from her far right, a man holding a narled walking stick, with an aged hand, but no details can be seen under his cloak, but silver ever the adept, Knows which god he is already. "Father sheperd, only the gods stand above death, at least if i fall, it shall be written into the hearts of warriors, thats all i can ask for..." The god of ssheperds lets out a suprised laugh, before tossing the large hood back giving the child in front of him a warm smile" Always was a perceptive one, but what you have done this time, You do realize what you did right? it upsets the balance of the realm, its okay to fight, but total destruction was never our goal child." He says in an old sage tone still maintaining the smile when another much colder, but more familiar voice speaks up, the voice making the old sheperd god frown. "This is a storm you cannot hope to weather!" it roars angrily, seething at the fact that Silver at every turn throws her life into the fight as if its free. Smiling as even now she can feel her mana drawing her feom this realm her reply, soft, but heard by all the gods present."its you who cannot weather the storm...for...i am..." At that Silver fades from this strange realm reconnecting to her body, being ravaged in the storm, and with a pain filled scream, faster than it appeared, the storm vanishes, being reabosrbed by Silver, her flesh tearing splitting rapidly, a ghost phantom of her arm forms and falls, under her skim, and in her organs, the mana runs rampant forcing her to change, to adapt and mutate, or die, for the sheer amount being enough to kill anyone else in her place, proven with the billions of corpses or soon to be corpses around. Groaning in pain, Silver struggles to her feet, beginning the long trek back to camp, her body leaving a bloody trail the entire way, a testament to her strong physique and will power to keep going, her phantom arm, forming, then vanishing, as if the image or shape is shaky and unable to hold its form, she pays it and all the pain racking her body, already blinded in one eye from the damaged mana veins having reached her eye now, after a few hours of shambling, she sees the wall, and what's left of the camp, a deep, pain filled but relieved sigh leaves her, as she sighs medics and mercenaries tending to the wounded all over the dark camp. She lets out on shrill whistle, announcing her presence as she dredges the last distance, and a familiar face jogs over, who else but micah, catching Silver under her one arm to drag her into camp, instantly getting stung as mana rips his side open from her, but ignores it as they make their way into camp. "sil, I love you and all, but can you place explain to me what the hell you detonated and managed to walk away from? you cleared the entire army, and beast tide somehow, or at least stalled the tide anyway." Giving a raspy and tired laugh in answer rolling her head to the side exposing the swollen viens on her face reaching her eye ,and having turned it and half her face nearly entirely silver."I bought us time." is her too calm reply, making her friend frown and tighten his grip on her. "who the high do you think you are?" he asks. unaware that those exact words have been asked by another already.
