Preface
Hi there, KIDdyW25 here, and this is my entry for #WSA2023. I'm excited to tell this story, as it holds a dear place in my heart as someone who is religious. Although, when talking with other Newbie writers in the Webnovel Writers Discord server, I was warned that this story might not be eligible for the Webnovel Spirity Awards competition as the story might go against rule 12 of the competition:
"Controversial content such as child pornography, abusive sexual content or content disparaging other religious and cultural beliefs are not allowed."
Distraught, I contacted support, gave a quick rundown of the story themes and what I hoped to achieve in telling the story, and asked if it went against rule 12. The support contact came back to me later and explained that if I believed the story does not breach the rule then I was free to enter it, with the understanding that if the review committee or the content editors that judge WSA2023 deemed the story as a breach of rule 12, then the entry will be disqualified.
Here is my definitive statement on the matter:
I do not believe "Army" goes against rule 12 of the competition.
I hope that you, as a reader, will see this story a little bit like the TV show "Supernatural", but it just so happens that the characters "Army" focuses on are Christian. I will not, at any point, portray other faiths and religions as something negative or disparaging. A major motif in the story will be the freedom of faith of any kind.
And like most of "Supernatural", the catalyst of the end of the world in the story will just so happen to be Biblical.
