Chapter 13: Jarl vs Odin
hey guys did you like my previous chp ? , I tried to make the chp better by expressing thoughts of peoples .
now let me burst the bubble of people who want the mc to be op this early in the fic , mc is not Odin's match I made this chp to make his power level clear and not just explain that he got these powers, thank you for reading.
Odin:"seems like no matter how many guards I send they will not be able to test you, so how about you go against me instead"
Jarl:" huh !" I exclaimed then thought he is right ,I also want to know just how much is the gap btw us , so I agreed.
and now we are opposite each other on the arena surrounded by people in the stands which also includes our family namely mother , Loki and Thor and thought just what led to this , well it happened like this , the thing is that Sif was not the only one in training grounds when we entered and there were a few people here when we reached , although in the stands sitting with there friends and they hearing about my fight with Odin spread the word and as for Thor well he just returned from midgard and heard about it the fight so he rushed here.
Odin asked me, if I was ready and when I said yes, he motioned for a soldier to start the fight, the soldier brought his hand up then asked if we are ready and when we answered yes ,he brought his hand down and fled the scene not wanting to get caught up in our fight.
we looked each other in the eyes then simultaneously charged each other and attacked him with his spear and me with my halberd.
as the edges of our respected weapons met sparks flew out ,we stepped back a little then clashed again and again we clashed for many rounds that to the on lookers look like we are even but that's not true as I I was on the losing side and I was trying desperately meanwhile Odin was not even looking a little bit winded , that's what happens when you are fighting a powerhouse who shaked the Galaxy with his name in his prime and even though it's been tens of thousands of years since then it doesn't mean a newbie like me with only 100 years of practice can top, but give me a 1000 years then I will surpass him I just know it.
as we clashed I didn't want to lose that quickly so I for the first time in from of an audience used my divinity. and backed away to do so, as I backed a few steps we paused and Odin said,
Odin:" ooh looks like you are going to take it seriously now huh?" ,he said that raising his remaining eyebrow.
Jarl:" well I don't want to lose too soon:" I said that knowing that although I am confident in my power I am no match to him , right now that is.
After saying my piece I concentrated on my power and tapped the ground with my halberd and suddenly tree roots started coming from the ground and attacked him to which he just easily cut through , I stepped the game one level higher and tapped the halberd's sharp tip on the ground and suddenly wood started sprouting and shaped itself like me then I covered them in illusion making them look like me but they did not have weapons on them.
I looked at Odin who looked amused then said,
Jarl:" how do they look ,I call them wood clones"
Odin:" well I honestly am disappointed that you think that a few dolls will be able to defeat me"
Jarl:" well you looked like you lacked entertainment in your poor old life so I gifted you a few dolls , well looks like you not happy with them , so let them at least try to entertain you" I said that then nodded to the clones. they understanding my meaning instead of charging Odin , first made themselves weapons and everyone of them using different weapons that I mastered over my time here such as :" spears , halberds , swords , axes , hammers ,throwing knives and lastly me with my bow standing at the the back to shoot as well as observe his fighting style to come up with a better strategy.
the clones charged after making there weapons and flocked Odin from different sides and me shooting from a distance , now I can see him taking me at least a little bit seriously as I am not some common soldier who even when gathered together can do no harm to him.
as Odin clashed with my clones he quickly realized that unlike my previous wooden attack the wood that the clones and their weapons are tough ,tougher than even asgardian steel that by the way can tank a blow from a rocket launcher and not show a dent.
now you are probably wondering why is that the wood of my clones is tougher ,well in my experiments with my divinity I discovered that I can increase the density of my wood by making it consume more energy , but as it takes more energy I don't do it often.
Odin even then was able to destroy them but they regenerated rapidly but the more they are destroyed the more brittle their stucture becomes because they are consuming the energy I provided to make them denser.
after the wooden clones are destroyed for good ,Odin looked like he just went went through a good warm up. then he said,
Odin:" ah thanks for that warm up son and I was throughly entertained" now he is just trying to make me angry but I am not angry ,as I knew beforehand that I will lose and actually I am excited , hey hey guys not like that get your minds out of gutter I am not a masochist,
I am excited cause I want to test my limits against someone I know can take the full output of my power.
