Chapter 1: Prolouge
Asphyxzia's pov:
I slowly opened my eyes.
"Pixie? Pixie are you really awake?"
I rubbed my eyes and sat up."mama? Why are you here?where am I?and why are you crying?"
"Pixie, darling you've been in a coma or the past 3 years.you had hurt yourself when a hammer fell on your head at a construction site"
My breathing hitched.then I started breathing faster.No.nonononono it can't be-dont tell me it was a dream no I know it's not.my life was good. I finally found what I was looking for I had those who loved me. And-and Dashiell, he was real, I know-
I realised then that mama was still speaking
"Stop",my voice was a whisper
"Pixie I know you feel distressed-"
I barked out a laugh. Distressed. Distressed didn't begin to cover it. those traitors. how will I live in the normal world again after I trained ,lived and breathed the supernatural? How would I- how could I- it wasnt really a dream was it? please,dont be a dream...no I remember Dash and Evan and-and... no, I have to remember. I have to...that- but it was fading already as I focused on it...as if it really were a-
"NO" I screamed. "ITS NOT JUST A DREAM ,ITS NOT".
I feel like my heart is just being torn out.
"GIVE IT BACK!" I sobbed "GIVE IT BACK, GIVE IT BACK,GIVEITBACK. PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS AWAY FROM ME PLEASE...."
I kept screaming at the ceiling
"No please give it back-- dont be so cruel please....PLEASE...." my voice broke.
"Pix--"
"Nooo" I wailed clutching two fistfuls of the blanket."NO"
My mama was crying but I didn't care. why? Why give me something only to take it away?
I didn't notice the doctors and nurses coming in or one of them stabbing a needle into the IV Thingie
I was still screaming as my vision went black.
Dashiell's pov:
"....still think it was a good idea?" Evan asked snidely.
I closed my eyes. Her screams had cut through my heart like heated iron rods had poked through it. Her desperate tears and screams had almost made him say to hell with it and take her back to the kingdom.
I looked at Evan.
'Yes' my voice was cold."It's for the best"
The punch caught me unawares and I went sprawling into the dumpster. I brushed off the trash and rose with a snarl.
He snarled back.
I blinked. Did he just--
"yes I did, so wipe that stupid look off that face you smarmy slimy bastard.did you see what you did to her just now?, huh? You did what even that asshat couldn't do to her. You broke her"
I slammed my power down on him "shut.up,Evangel I am your prince and you will obey me"
"Of course milord," he mocked."Why do I exist but to serve you and your every whim yourgrace?"
I felt ashamed.
"sorry."I muttered, releasing him.
Evan clapped a hand on my shoulder.
" whatever you plan to achieve by this brother,I hope it's worth the cost of breaking her"
'she won't break.' I mumbled, more to myself than him. 'she won't, she is strong', but my reassurance seemed empty even to me.
Evan just started walking back to the portal where we first met her
I looked back at the hospital. Toward the window to her room.
Goodbye forever my love,I thought toward her, knowing that it won't reach her.
Asphyxzia I'm sorry. so sorry for hurting you, so sorry for tearing you from the life you wanted. The life you had.But I can't fight with you there. I cant unsee the moment he ripped out your heart I can't forget the moment I held you, bleeding out from the hole in your chest. I can't watch that again.
Do you know how I saved you? We exchanged heartstones my love, I know it not the kind of wedding we envisioned,and I know it was too early, but it was the only way to save you. And I dont regret it. There is so much more i want to tell you but you won't read this so there's no point. I'm writing this to get closure. I am sad we didn't have time to grow old together, and I'm sorry you will not be able to find happiness with anyone in the future.

I folded the letter and placed it behind the loose brick in the factory wall we usually hid messages in, then placed a high level seal on it.
"What's the point?"
"For peace of mind Evan, even when I'm a world away I'll feel as if I at least said goodbye. We wiped her memories, so the next time she wakes up she won't remember our world. Even if she did, she will not be able to open this " I swallowed a lump in my throat. a few tears escaped.
Evan hugged me. "Come on, brother, let's go home."
And together we walked through the portal, sealing it behind us.
