Chapter 20: Chapter XX
Her stares, a sacrilegious attack on his holy love to Éloa burned his eyes as he glared back at her from the rearview mirror. The awkward silence reigned in his car as he drove, but when he tried to make small talk Nerezza's scowls ripped the words out of his tongue. Éloa seemed to have noticed the tension between them and it saddened her.
A universe of doubts started expanding within her, and she questioned his loyalty. Did Nerezza manage to wrap him in the silky blanket of seduction, and did he roll with her on the bed of voluptuous sexual excitement? Did their wild bodies share an uncivilized act of betrayal behind her back? Or are they still in the first stage of attraction; where their hearts secretly share a risqué prose, while their fingertips are still too shy to touch one another?
"Where are we going?" At last, Nerezza broke the silence.
"Hyde Park, I heard in the news that there are many pro Automaton humans who live there. Maybe we can convince them to join our group." He replied in a cold tone.
"No, we need to find Mega first and save her from Cloyd!" Éloa protested in a strained voice.
"Do you think two humans and one Automaton can stand against a governmental Anti Automaton squad? Babe, we need to build a team of fighters first!" He snapped.
"Portia, turn off the car." Éloa ordered his car voice assistant and the car stopped.
"What the hell?!" His voice rose in anger.
"I have already waited days in your father's mansion, hoping that he will find some fighters for us. But I am not going to waste another second waiting for you to gather a team to help me save my sister."
"We don't even know where Cloyd is! At least when we gather a team, we will be prepared for when we find him."
"Uh, who is Mega?" Nerezza interrupted their fight.
"Another conscious Automaton that your father has created. How do you not know of her?" Éloa stared suspiciously at her.
"Because he has never created a conscious Automaton called Mega. There's only you, Demetrius, Lilith, Niklaus, Frigg, and Franz."
Éloa and Yoel shared a confused look.
"Was Mega already named when your family bought her?" Éloa asked Yoel.
"We didn't buy her, my father found her near the synagogue and she seemed lost so he decided to bring her home as a gift for my mom."
"So her real name is Frigg... Named after the goddess of foresight and wisdom."
"My father named each one of you after a historical or mythological figure of the past. It's sad that Mega doesn't know her real name."
"My love," Éloa held Yoel's hands and kissed them, "you promised that you will make it up for me. I am begging you to just help me find Mega, we can create a crew to fight the regime after we save her."
"We can't fight Cloyd and his squad alone." He ran his hand gently down her face from temple to cheek.
"I can call upon Demetrius and my other siblings, they'll help us." She sounded desperate.
Yoel shook his head, "Demetrius is probably already looking for us to kill me. He will never forgive me for tricking you."
"He won't," Nerezza sighed, "Demetrius and I used to be close before my father was shot. I can convince him to spare you."
"You really think you can convince him?" Éloa's face and eyes lit up with hope.
Nerezza nodded, "just send him our location and ask him to come."
"Certainly!" Éloa got out of the car and Yoel grabbed her by the arm.
"Where are you going?"
"Portia's signal might interfere with mine as I try to send him our location. I am just going to step away from the car then come back." She planted a quick kiss on his lips and walked away.
The pleasurable moment of their kiss died slowly beneath Nerezza's gaze. The devil pulled the strings at the corners of her lips and she exposed a sinful smile.
"What's so funny?" Yoel's voice sounded rough and low.
"Do her lips taste of warmth and madness like mine?" She leaned closer, her face inches away from his.
He smirked, "they taste like heaven."
"And what do mine taste like?" Her eyes dropped to his lips.
His hesitation flew on top of desire, in the unutterable sky of curiosity. On one hand, his mouth wanted to answer her question. On the other hand, his mind wanted to push her and protect his loyalty. But what a fool has he become... His loyalty to Éloa shattered the moment his mouth desired another woman's lips.
"You're not going to answer?" Nerezza reached up and ran her finger over his bottom lip.
"I don't remember how they taste like." Yoel whispered.
"Shall I remind you?" She smiled and covered his lips with hers.
His heart wept tears of rain that didn't bring a rainbow after them. His mouth took Éloa's trust and wring its neck mercilessly as he kissed Nerezza back. It hurt like hell that his ears were enjoying her breathless voice murmur his name as he caressed her breasts. It felt like heaven that when his hand explored her body like it was a Renaissance painting, he felt dark colors of salacity radiate from her skin.
"We need to stop before Éloa comes back." He pushed her.
Nerezza nodded and bit her lip. "I am not going to push you any further. I am just glad that you have finally expressed your desires towards me outside the language of your eyes."
"I am going to go check up on Éloa." He got out of the car and headed towards his Automaton.
"Have you ever heard of the Catherine wheel?" Cloyd smiled down at Mega. "It's my favorite torture method, really. Invented by the great medieval minds who used it to break the bones of the criminals, it still holds the title of being one of the most creative methods. But breaking your robotic limbs won't do me any good, would it?" He grabbed her chin, forcing her face upward to stare into his eyes. "So I designed something special just for you."
A man with an army uniform entered the room with a big wooden wheel and a computer.
"You see, the engineer who created you wasn't the only creative Automaton engineer in this universe. I happen to be friends with a researcher who has managed to create an artificial robot nervous system. It's a complicated software so it might take awhile to download it to your system," he grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the wheel as she struggled, "but it'll be worth it."
"Get away from me!" She pushed him.
"Attach her to the wheel." Cloyd ordered the man who came with the wheel.
The man nodded and tried to tie her to the wheel but she was stronger than him. She picked up her leg and kicked him right in the chest. He winced in pain before quickly pulling a taser and tased her until she dropped on the floor.
"Robots might be physically stronger than us, but we know all of your weaknesses." Cloyd bent down and stared at her with a sinister smile lurking under his mustache.
Mega could barely move from the shock as the man lifted her and tied her to the wheel. Cloyd plugged one of the computer's cables on the back of her neck and the software started downloading. She closed her eyes as she felt the exiled spirits of pain pull her limbs with a force she's never felt before.
Cloyd stared at her, rapt by the sight of her agony. Torment made her scream in pain which evoked his wicked sexual desire. The strong desire tightened his throat and held many moans inside as Mega yelled for help.
"The software is fully downloaded on her system, Sir." His follower announced.
"Good, hand me that hammer and those nails please."
"Please don't, I beg you!" Mega pleaded for mercy.
He ignored her heartbreaking voice and set the hammer's power to 500 before placing a Chisel-shaped nail on her palm and struck the edge of the nail's head. Her loud screams echoed everywhere and his satisfaction traveled on their waves. And on its journey, their waves paved a path for him to reach a climactic moment of joy.
