Chapter 7: Shocking Revelation!
The back garden was pretty big. It had different flowers and a beautiful pond. There was a footpath on it, which led straight to the pavilion in the lake's center. Inside of it sat Lord Xie Yang. Sunlight beamed into the pavilion, falling on his face, brightening it so much that it felt like he was about to ascend to heaven.
Lord Xie Yang had a lot of cultivation techniques; however, he couldn't practice most of them as his body was too weak. He knew of his condition best, and he could tell that his body wouldn't be able to withstand the strain that comes from cultivating Heaven-grade techniques. He had no choice but to start from the basics and choose a grade-0 technique and practice it to become a cultivator.
There were many grades of cultivation techniques. The lowest was grade-0, and this went up to grade-3. Then, there were the Earth-grade cultivation, sky-grade cultivation technique, and heaven-grade cultivation technique, which was the highest one.
Lord Xie Yang hadn't learned a lot of grade-0 techniques in his past life. And among the ones he knew, most of them required an astronomical amount of resources.
He didn't want to be shameless and leech off his father, who had already wasted more than half of his fortune to cure him. So, he decided to use a technique that didn't require any resources!
Lord Xie Yang thought for a moment and decided to practice the art of spiritual communication. This cultivation Scripture didn't have a grade. Its only uses were to allow a person to gain a complete view of their elixir field, acquire the ability to interact with spiritual energy, and store said energy in their elixir field. Once a person gains spiritual energy, he officially joins the ranks of cultivators!

The spiritual communication scripture was no different than a Buddhist scripture. It had a lot of lines. Reciting all of them took him three hours.
The moment he uttered the last word of the technique, his vision blurred.
However, the blur lasted only for a few moments. And once Lord Xie Yang's vision cleared up, he found out that the view in his field of vision had changed for the better.
He could now see hundreds of blue specks floating around him. Each was spiritual energy.
He focused his eyes on the ones near him and urged them to come closer. As if they were responding to his thoughts, the blue specks charged towards him, passing through his robes and touching his skin.
One by one, they seeped into his body and moved straight towards the elixir field located three centimeters beneath the navel.
After reaching there, they settled down, meaning Lord Xie Yang had entered the first stage of the elixir field nourishing realm!
The first realm of cultivation was nourishing the elixir field.
In this realm, a cultivator nourishes the elixir field to increase his spiritual energy capacity and then absorbs the spiritual energy present in nature into his elixir field to fill it
It had ten different levels, and when a person nourishes their elixir field entirely, they can condense a spirit core. Having it meant stepping into the spirit Core Refinement realm and only being a realm away from the spirit master realm.
Spirit masters were able to form a contract with spirits, summon them, and command them to do different things such as fight their enemies for them, defend them or support them in a battle!
It was too far away for the current him, but becoming a cultivator was already better than nothing.
Lord Xie Yang smiled as he had stepped on the path of cultivation once again!
As he felt hungry for more strength, he decided to cultivate. He could still communicate with the spiritual energy for two hours and fifty minutes today! He hurriedly focused his gaze on the other blue specks and urged them to come to him. Some stayed still while the rest went towards him and entered his elixir field.
After thirty-two blue specks settled in his elixir field, Lord Xie Yang could not absorb any more spiritual energy in his elixir field.
"It looks like I've hit a bottleneck."
Lord Xie Yang hadn't even reached the middle stages of the first level of the elixir field nourishing realm, yet he had faced a bottleneck, making him extremely disappointed. Each level of the first realm had four steps, namely, initial-stage, middle-stage, advanced-stage, and peak-stage!
"My body is too weak and has little talent for cultivation." Lord Xie Yang sighed.
If someone had witnessed that he went from no cultivation to a step away from the middle stage of the first level within merely an hour and still had the guts to sigh and act disappointed, they would've smashed his head with an iron hammer!
Compared to others, his cultivation speed was genuinely astonishing!
"Huh?" Lord Xie Yang's eyebrows raised. "Why is spiritual energy leaving my elixir field? What is going on?!"
All of a sudden, the 32 points of spiritual energy that he had gathered in an hour started to leave his body one unit at a time. First, it dropped to 31 points, then to 30.
After another minute, it decreased to 29, startling Lord Xie Yang!
Wondering what was wrong with him, he focused all his attention on his elixir field. It was mostly dark, but 29 blue specks illuminated it a little. Except for them, he noticed grayish grains of sand scattered all over his elixir field.
A single look was enough for him to tell what it was and his eyes widened to complete rounds!
