Chapter 21: A Mystical Tier Beast
Steven had woken up long after Elijah went hunting a beast with Kai. He opened the door of his room only to find a note by the door.
"What is this, was it Elijah who left this note here" Steven said as he opened the note
Steven read the note and felt angry at himself. It was from Elijah, and it said:
Dear Steven,
I'm sorry to leave you alone. I had to go with Kai to hunt beasts. beasts have been said to be on the way to Cairo. They are dangerous beasts and they would be difficult for you to handle even with me there, and we can't let them escape. I know you wanted to come with me, but you're not ready yet. You need to train more and learn how to control your Ki energy. Trust me, it's for your good. I'll be back soon, and then we can talk. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Kai might be a good partner, but I will manage Steven so don't worry about me and train hard for the academy. Just stay here and wait for me. ones again train hard Steven while I am gone.
Steven crumpled the note and threw it on the floor. He hated being treated like a child. He was not weak, he was not helpless, he was not a burden. He was a hunter, well not yet an official hunter and just a recruit. But he wants to be just as strong as Elijah and like this Kai guy. He wanted to prove himself, to show Elijah that he was worthy of his respect and trust. He wanted to face the beast, to fight it, to kill it. He wanted to be a hero.
"What am I thinking? I am still not strong enough. Well, he will be fine, I just have to train hard so that I can go on a mission by myself" Steven said as he got ready for the day and went to the training hall.

The beast got into a stance and lunged at Elijah, its claws and teeth ready to tear him apart. Elijah dodged to the side and fired out Ki slashes, hoping to hit a vital spot. But the beast was faster than any other than Elijah had ever faced before. The beast jumped up high, swung its leg at Elijah, and hit Elijah right in the head.
Elijah had been stunned by the hit and was trying to balance himself but the beast was already on him. It bit down on his arm, making him scream in agony. Elijah felt his blood dripping from the wound, and his Ki energy fading.
After biting down on Elijah's arm, the beast made a slash across his chest, sending Elijah flying. "At least, I did not bring Steven along, he would have died along with me. I guess this is the end for you isn't that right Elijah"
Elijah crashed to the ground, feeling a sharp pain in his ribs. He looked up and saw the beast running straight at him, its fangs bared and its eyes glowing with bloodlust. He knew he had no chance to escape. He closed his eyes and waited for the inevitable.
But then, he heard a loud groan and felt a blast of heat. He opened his eyes and saw a blazing fireball had just hit the beast sending sparks in all directions, making it stop in its tracks. He also saw a man standing in front of him, with fire in his hands. A fire ability! He must be a peak-rate beast hunter or even higher. Maybe he can save me from this monster, Elijah thought.
The beast lunged at the hunter, who dodged the attack with a swift movement and delivered a strong punch, sending the beast flying. Without giving it a chance to recover, he unleashed a barrage of fire slashes and fireballs, setting the surrounding trees on fire and hitting the beast with some of them. The beast was fast, but not fast enough to avoid all the attacks. "This one is faster than any other mystical tier beast I have ever seen," the hunter muttered, as he continued his assault.
The beast groaned in pain and anger, as it felt its life force draining from the wounds inflicted by the hunter. It knew it had to do something, or it would die. The hunter then started to see the beast releasing its aura around the surroundings, showing purple energy around its body and the beast ran toward the hunter faster than before.
The hunter was surprised by the beast's sudden burst of speed, but he was not afraid. He had faced many dangers before, and he was confident in his skills and abilities. He quickly activated his fire shield, a defensive technique that surrounded him with a layer of flames, and prepared to counter the beast's attack.
The beast reached the hunter in a matter of seconds and tried to bite him with its sharp fangs. However, it met with a wall of fire that burned its mouth and made it recoil. The hunter seized the opportunity and sent out a fire slash at the beast, aiming for its neck. The beast dodged the slash, but not the fireball that followed it. The fireball hit the beast's chest, causing a loud explosion and a cloud of smoke.
The hunter smiled, thinking that he had finished the beast. But he was wrong. The smoke cleared, and he saw the beast standing up, with a large hole in its chest. The beast's purple aura was stronger than ever, and it seemed to be healing its wound. The hunter realized that the beast had a secret ability: it could regenerate from any injury, as long as it had enough energy.
The beast roared and charged at the hunter again, with more fury and determination. The hunter knew that he had to end the fight quickly, or he would run out of stamina and be devoured by the beast. He decided to use his ultimate technique: the fire dragon. He gathered all his fire energy and formed a huge dragon-shaped flame that flew toward the beast. The beast tried to dodge, but it was too late. The fire dragon engulfed the beast and burned it to ashes leaving the crystal in view.
The hunter sighed in relief and wiped the sweat from his forehead. He turned his attention to Elijah who was lying on the ground, badly injured. He walked over to him and checked his condition. He saw that he had a broken rib and some cuts here and there, but nothing he could not do. He used his fire ability to cauterize the wound and stop the bleeding. He then lifted him and carried him on his shoulder. "Don't worry, kid. You're safe now. I'm taking you with me".
"Thank you for saving me. You're amazing" Elijah said weakly then he fell unconscious

"What, what am I doing here, if they ask of Elijah what would I say, I have to run away"
"Hey you are back, how was it" a person asked
