Chapter 2: The Awakened Receives Divine Guidance!
Suddenly a different notification appeared in front of him.
[Warning! You have been highly infected by a Zombie! Your Zombie conversion speed has increased!]
[Warning! Your body has started to convert into a Zombie!]
"OH SHIT!" Seth screamed at the top of his lungs and jumped away. His frozen brain finally starting to digest the searing pain.
Seth held his bloodied face and ran towards the two boys who were left dumbfounded at everything.
Weren't Zombies weak? Wasn't Seth supposed to easily dispose of them? So why was he suddenly screaming and rushing toward them?
The boys seeing the scars on Seth's face panicked and screamed, "Oi!! You got injured by a Zombie? Are you an idiot or what? I thought we were supposed to be the noobs. So why are you getting injured by zombies, huh?"
"SHUT UP!" Veins bulged out of Seth's forehead as he glared at the boys.
"Hey!" One of the boys suddenly pointed towards the wounds on Seth's face that had started to fester and were causing his skin to get darker, "What's going on with his skin?"
"H-Hey! I... Won't a person turn into a zombie once he gets attacked by one? It's been so long since such a case appeared that we nearly forgot the reason zombies are still professionally classified as more dangerous than Goblins."
"But since zombies are extremely easy to kill with their absolute lack of intelligence, they illegally became the weakest monsters."
As the boy was explaining, foam had started to gush out of Seth's mouth, and his consciousness blackened out.
His pupils rolled to the back of his eyes and his brain turned short-circuited.
[Congratulations! You have successfully died and turned into a Zombie!]
[Congratulation! Your brain has died and you will attack instinctively.]
"Grr!" Seth suddenly drew out his dagger and slashed at one of the boys. His body which was trained to split necks in an instant quickly severed the level 5 boy's throat.
The Awakened Zombie seeing everything play out in front of him suddenly received a notification.
[Congratulations! You're infected human has turned into a Zombie. Due to the effect of your, 'Awakened' title, the zombie will obey your every command and will remain loyal.]
[Congratulations! You have infected your first human! Your rank has increased to rank 1! All stats increase by 10!]
[Ding! Your infected, Seth has killed a weak human. You have gained 5 EXP!]
As the shower of blood spilled out of the boy's neck and fell upon Seth and the other boy, the boy's legs went limp and he collapsed on his butt.
It was his first time seeing a creature die... and it was his friend no less.
His brain buzzed as he shook his head vigorously and muttered like he had gotten possessed, "This is a nightmare. It must be. It must be. I will wake u-"
Seth's dagger blurred to the boy's horror and the next second, his neck was split. He couldn't even fully console himself... before his body lost all strength.
[Ding! Seth has killed a weak human. You have gained 5 EXP!]
[Congratulations! You have leveled up!]
"Grrr!" The Zombie roared as he felt a rush run through his body again.
He could feel it again, he had grown... stronger! And fitting this appropriate feeling, his lips stretched back and a strange sound echoed out of his decayed vocals, "Gigigigi!"
His tongue escaped out and brushed his destroyed lips, like a teen given the taste of wine, he muttered the name that had engulfed him in its lust, "Pow-gger!"
A screen suddenly flashed in front of him.

The Zombie's smile deepened as his strength grew. Something primal inside him seemed to be feeding on the rush within him and edging him to grow more and more.
He glanced around, seeing who else would dare challenge him.
And much to his delight, he saw more zombies slowly staggering over.
"Gigi!" The Awakened Zombie chuckled and started to walk over.
But the Zombies ignored his existence and walked past him.
At the same time, he received a notification.
[Ding! Seth has devoured flesh!]
The Zombie tilted his head and gazed back. Indeed, the human turned Zombie, Seth, was gobbling down the two human corpses.
The Awakened tilted his head and silently... walked over.
The zombies he previously assumed to be coming to challenge him also kneeled next to the corpses and started to feast.
The Awakened grew more confused and walked over with small steps- not having any idea what the other zombies were doing, ripping off the flesh of the humans and devouring it.
By the time he reached over, the 7 zombies had already devoured the corpses, leaving only bones.
The Awakened furrowed his brows and searched for flesh to taste.
Seeing no more flesh left, the Awakened felt another new emotion- displeasure.
He growled and squatted next to Seth. Seeing the untainted flesh on his calves, the Awakened grinned and opened its mouth wide, and "Gaaa!"
"Ughh!" Seth screamed in pain, as he was directly turned into a zombie as a human with all his bodily functions available his scream still resembled a living human.
He was different from the other zombies here who had been corrupted by excessive mana and turned into zombies from corpses.
The Awakened munched in curiosity– imitating what he saw from the other zombies– and gulped the flesh down. Instantly, a series of notifications appeared in front of him.
[Ding! You have devoured flesh. Your skill 'Flesh-Bound' has been activated. Your wounds have been recovered.]
[Ding! You can trace the origin of the flesh. Would you like to trace it? Yes/No?]
The Awakened scratched his head dumbly before slowly... clicking Yes!
[Congratulations! Origin traced successfully. You found the Talent- 'Stealth' in the flesh. The Stealth Talent has successfully been incorporated into you.]
Seeing the notification, the Awakened felt something etch deep inside him.
As he pondered over the feeling, he grew more confused and just ignored the notification along with the tingling feeling.
He sat next to Seth, the only one who remained next to him, awaiting orders.
While the rest of the zombies went back- deeper into the cave.
The Awakened tilted his head and glanced around at the zombies. There were 7 zombies, excluding the two of them and the 3 alive Goblins. But none of them attacked him.
The Awakened, not having seen anybody attack each other, didn't even consider taking the initiative.
But as if to destroy that hesitation, a notification appeared suddenly.
[Ding! First quest initiated:
To understand yourself better and to awaken the latent thirst for power inside you, clear the entire dungeon and become its master!

"Grr!?" The Awakened blinked his eyes curiously.
As he saw the monsters inside the dungeon after looking at the screen that suddenly popped up in front of him, he felt a lost drive revive inside him.
With a wide grin, the Awakened got up and glanced at Seth, in his incoherent words, he gave his first command to the loyal servant.
He pointed towards the monsters inside the cave and roared, "Grr!"
Ahem! Maybe purred!
