Chapter 36: Plague Of Death II

The only positions in the Quintessence that are still empty are the two in Umbrella's Intelligence Network, and Luscious has just taken one of them... Code name Black - Luscious.
Luscious naturally wasn't alone. As a Lord, he has his own territory and people who follow him.
The territory is filled with technological devices, all functioning, including numerous cars. Luscious specializes in the technological side of things after all, and his cyber mind is quite miraculous.
Most importantly, they have several functioning helicopters, several. Umbrella also has helicopters but they stopped functioning since the second fog, and repairing them was quite the hurdle.
It was, thus, obvious that Luscious was not only talented in the field but that he also trained a lot of talented individuals, else he wouldn't have been able to turn his settlment into a mentallic fortress.
All of which were transported to Umbrella, leaving nothing behind. The city has been taken over by the Lords for a reason, because of the ample resources within and the numerous zombies around which can help them acquire Awakening points, the latter being the most important.
However, none of that is important to Silver. The city in his eyes is a breeding ground for mutations and interesting zombies.
Only once everything was done did Silver start his next course of action, truly turning New York into a breeding ground which would in turn help them take over it.
And so the Hive was opened, the vast underground facility opened its secret gate that leads directly outside of Umbrella to release numerous Zombies, abominations, and lickers.
Remember that Umbrella is now capable of turning a single cell into a whole Zombie, mostly due to the miraculous nature of the T virus and the Silver Effect, thus why Umbrella is capable of creating at least ten thousand zombies a day, most of which are stable.
The rest are failed products, Zombies that either break down in minutes or abominations that are so deformed that they can not function, all of which are sent to the morgue for Loyd to decay.
It has been more than two months since the start of Doomsday, and quite a while since Umbrella's cloning project saw success. Therefore, they've already accumulated more than 150000 zombies, all of which were sent to New York.
That's, however, only the start as Silver's focus was elsewhere as he stood at the top of one of New York's many tall buildings, capturing every detail of his target with the Silver Domain.
[Soul: 2529] Silver was still always getting stronger due to his White Dwarf Cell Physiology, even his soul was getting stronger, thus the vastness of his domain, allowing him to see so far away.
The Silver Domain is truly special, further proven by Silver's several experiments and comparisons with other Awakeners that have mental abilities.
Silver found out that those who have a domain similar to him aren't like him. Their domain or as they call it, Soul Curtain, the very outer layer of the Soul, can function outside the body like him to detect things.
However, It can barely detect anything as it's mostly used to detect energy pulses or signals, and if a person can not control their energy perfectly, they can be detected, and most can't.
Therefore, the ability is extremely useful and sought after, let alone something as miraculous as the Silver Domain, so special yet dangerous as the amount of information one needs to process is ludicrous and would likely instantly kill most individuals, let alone the constant pain Silver experiences as his brain and soul struggle to process everything.
Yet he never shut down the Silver Domain for it's too useful, allowing him to explore his target thoroughly from so far away, a nuclear power plant.
"The place is well protected, although the power plant is shut down," Silver stated, "They're trying to repair it? Interesting. It seems that Lord Bernard has some plans for the power plant."
"How many targets are there?" Beside him stood Luscious who asked.
"46, quite a lot for Doomsday," Said Silver as he brought out an architecture plan of the building, one made by Luscious himself as he had spent a lot of time watching the other Lords.
Silver marked 46 points, all referencing each individual in the nuclear power plant, and specifically marked two targets in bold. He then handed it to the team.
Speaking of the team, it mostly consisted of Luscious himself and his underlings, along with Sam and Loyd.
Silver basically left everything to Luscious as he turned around and jumped off the building, and without further ado, Luscious took command, "Green and Red, you should make your way underground while we distract them."
"They likely have at least one reconnaissance awakener, so it's better to be close so that if we are detected, and they swarm us, you can have plenty of targets to take out," Loyd continued in his stead.
"Exactly my plan," Luscious nodded, and they got to work right away, getting to a closer building to the nuclear power plant, one that was within line of sight.
Neither Luscious nor his team was close-range fighters. In fact, they'd rather stay as far away as possible, so they all brought out their specialized sniper rifles and set them up before lying on the ground, all aiming at any target within line of sight.
Sam and Loyd, on the other hand, took the weird path as they dived underground. Just by the virtue of Loyd walking, everything around him decayed, turning into something akin to sand.
Loyd didn't even need to touch anything, as long as he desired it, anything one meter around him could be decayed.
Well, that can only be applied to inanimate and dead objects as it's much harder to decay living targets, likely because they can have resistance to his powers.
Suddenly, the two heard the loud deafening sound of a gunshot, "We've been detected? It seems that they value the power plant very much." Sam noted.
"Totally expected," Loyd shrugged as he watched Sam tap the sandy ground before leaping into the ceiling, breaking it into scattered rubbles, most of which fell on Loyd only to decay.
Loyd followed after him, leaping into the limelight only to feel Sam's foot gently resting on his back, "Do your thing." Sam stated before his foot acted like a compression spring, sending Loyd far to the power plant.
Loyd's back could naturally handle the treatment as his physique is even stronger than Silver's, for no other reason than he kills the most zombies in the morgue, thus having a limitless supply of awakening points.
Loyd's physique is as high as 2000 and his endurance isn't so far behind. It would've been even higher if Silver hadn't instructed everyone to save up a lot of awakening points for an incoming project.
And naturally, none of the other Quintessence were left out as each naturally specialized in one of the three stats.
Loyd was center flying to the building they know to house the main control room while Sam also leaped after him, although targetting one of the heavy-duty containment domes for within is the nuclear reactor.
'Deadly, even from me,' Loyd mused as he spread his hand to touch one of the enemy soldiers' faces, the latter decaying in seconds.
Another soldier really tried to fire at Loyd, but before he could, his head blew up as a blue luminescent bullet exploded the moment it came in contact with him.
That's the deadly thing Loyd spoke of. Luscious' right-hand man has quite an interesting ability. The man's name is Ali, and his energy is explosive, so if it comes in contact with anything with a decent amount of force, it explodes.
The ability works injecting his energy into something or using it directly, in this case, he's using it on the bullets. The ability's only weaknesses are its ridiculous energy consumption and that it's so dangerous that it doesn't distinguish friends from foes, so he might even kill himself if careless.
Luscious' team which consists of ten individuals was basically killing any target in sight the moment they appear, the sound of their bullets reverberating throughout the surroundings in the darkness of the night.
Until suddenly, there was darkness no more, only blinding brightness as something akin to a sun overshadowed the sky, and with that, two individuals showed themselves, the targets Silver marked in bold.
