Chapter 5: Chapter Five: Bambi’s Mad Dash

Bambi could feel his heart pounding against his chest, his palms damp with sweat as he held his ground against the powerful and intimidating Alpha standing before him. His entire body was trembling with fear, knowing that Apollo was capable of anything at this point.

This might perhaps be one of the most dangerous situations he could be in.

Looking at Apollo, Bambi could see the dangerous glint in his eyes, the tilted smirk on his lips as he stood there, arms crossed and looking down at him with superiority. Bambi couldn't believe he had been foolish enough to think he could challenge Apollo and come out alive.

But he couldn't back down now. He had to show Apollo that he wasn't afraid, even though every fiber of his being was screaming at him to run away and hide. He had to defend his safe-home, his territory, even though he knew it was a lost cause.

Bambi's mind flashed back to the headless beta lying on the ground, blood pooling around its headless neck. The smell of death and burnt flesh filled the room, making Bambi's stomach churn. He could feel the bile rising in his throat, but he swallowed it down, refusing to show weakness in front of Apollo.

Apollo, the Alpha who had killed his beta, stood in front of him, smirking. "What's the matter, little pup?" he asked. "Scared?"

He couldn't let Apollo see how scared he was. So, he barked at him to leave, to go back to wherever he came from. Bambi glared at him. "Get out of my safe-home," he said. "And take your dead dog with you."

Apollo laughed. "You think you can order me around?" he asked. "I'm the Alpha here, and you're just a beta."

"I don't care what you are," Bambi said. "You're not welcome here."

Apollo's eyes narrowed. "You're going to regret that," he said.

But Bambi stood there, staring directly into Apollo's eyes and said, "I'm not scared of you."

For a moment, there was a tense silence between the two of them. Bambi could see the anger flash across Apollo's face before he composed himself and let out a deep, booming laugh.

"You're like a little pup barking," Apollo chuckled and pointed at Bambi. "At least get your back off the wall before you howl at me."

Bambi clapped back, saying, "You laugh, but I'm not the only one whose back is against the wall, am I?" He knew he had struck a chord when he saw Apollo's hand sneak into his pocket, trying to hide it from Bambi's view.

Bambi's eyes narrowed as he glared at Apollo. But Apollo didn't seem fazed. In fact, he let out another laugh before saying that he didn't want to resort to violence.

Bambi couldn't believe the audacity of Apollo. He had just killed someone and now he was trying to act like he didn't want to use violence. Bambi scoffed, unable to control his anger any longer. He took a step forward, closer to Apollo and said, "You just killed someone. You're a monster."

"I don't want to hurt you," he said. "I'm just here to talk." Apollo sighed. "Besides, I didn't really kill anyone. All I did was silence an insolent dog."

Bambi couldn't believe the audacity of this man standing in front of him. Apollo was arrogant, a man who thought he could get whatever he wanted. But Bambi wasn't about to back down, not from anyone, especially not this man.

He scoffed at Apollo's suggestion, not even bothering to entertain the thought. But as Apollo started to walk closer, Bambi's instincts kicked in. Warning bells rang inside his head, telling him to be cautious. He yelled at Apollo to stay back, his voice laced with defiance and a touch of fear.

Apollo didn't seem fazed by Bambi's outburst. He simply swatted away the things that Bambi threw at him, barely flinching. As he stood in front of Bambi, the height difference between them was impossible to ignore. Bambi was only up to Apollo's shoulders, and even that was a stretch.

They stood in silence, each one sizing up the other. Apollo's silence was intimidating, it made Bambi feel vulnerable. But before Bambi could even think of backing down, Apollo bent down to Bambi's ear height in a gesture of dominance. The stark difference in their heights was almost comical, with Apollo having to almost bend in half to reach Bambi.

But Bambi's heart started pounding against his chest when Apollo spoke. His voice was low and menacing, filled with malice. Bambi couldn't help but feel a shiver run down his spine. What was this man capable of?

"Then, run," Apollo said coldly, his words sending a chill down Bambi's spine.

Bambi's heart raced even faster, this time out of fear. He couldn't understand what Apollo meant, but he knew it wasn't going to end well for him. He stuttered in shock, "Wh-what?"

Apollo's lips curved into a cruel smirk as he looked down at Bambi, relishing in his fear. "You heard me. Run," he repeated, his voice dripping with malice.

Bambi took a step back, his heart hammering in his chest. But Bambi refused to give into his fear. He may not have been the biggest or the strongest person, but he wasn't one to back down from a challenge. With trembling hands, he picked up a nearby object and held it in front of him as a makeshift weapon, ready to defend himself if necessary.

"What do you mean, run?" Bambi asked, his voice quivering slightly.

"Exactly what I said," Apollo replied. "You don't want to come with me, so run. I'll give you a head start."

"You can't be serious," Bambi said. "You're not actually going to let me go, are you?"

"Oh, I'm quite serious," Apollo said. "I'm not going to force you to come with me if you don't want to. So run."

Bambi took a step back, but still kept his defense up. "I don't understand," he said. "Why are you doing this?"

"Because I love you," Apollo said simply.

Bambi immediately cringed in disgust, as he shook his head in disbelief. "Stop fucking around with me, and tell me the truth."

Apollo's smirk widened as he laughed. "How cute." The challenge in Bambi's eyes only added fuel to his cruel demeanor. "You think you can take me on, little Bambi?" he taunted, taking a step closer to Bambi.
