“Bethany, I really don’t want to go!” I said firmly over the phone.

Bethany had called right when I was getting ready to head out and go apartment hunting… again.

“Please, Vie. I really don’t want to go by myself, and Lizzie is insisting that I be at this party. It’s really important to her and I don’t want to let her down,” Bethany begged.

“I-I don’t know, Bethy. I’m really not ready to see Trev again,” I said softly.

“Come on, Vie. Show him that he can’t get you down like that. Find those lady balls that you have grown. Strut in there with your head held high and your sexiest outfit on,” she encouraged.

I groaned in dismay. “All of my sexy outfits are still tied up in storage.”

“Ahh. Well… go to my house and pick one.”

“Yours are two sizes smaller than me. It’ll be illicit,” I insisted.

“Oh, stop finding excuses and show up. The parties at 5. Be there or I’ll send someone to find you.”
