Chapter 3: Dungeon Boss

CLANG!

The sound of clashing swords resounded inside the big room. The Skeleton was doing pretty well fighting with its left hand. At first, it was clumsy with not even a good grip, but the Skeleton's adaption in some minutes surprised Kyle.

"It's time now, my friend. I have to go now!" Kyle said while wondering why he was talking to these dumb creatures, but he was a man who liked talking and having allies.

Kyle dashed towards the Skeleton; it slashed again without thinking; Kyle went past it, not finding any problem, and grabbed the Skeleton's head.

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

He kept hitting the skull with his punches in need of a new skill. Finally, after about fifty punches, he heard the notification.

[ Skill Unarmed combat received]

"Yes!" Kyle kept hitting the skull, feeling happy. The punches had become more robust and better than before. In a few more punches, he finally heard a sound.

Before getting inside the body of the skeleton, Kyle had many low-level skills all of which were easy to get without any skill books.

CRACK!

[EXP +15]

Kyle looked around and found broken bones all around him.

"Hehe...finally some armor."

He pulled out the chest plate, the chain pants, and helmet and looked at their information in detail.

----------

CHAIN HELMET

+5 Defense

Durability- 10/10

----------

CHAIN PANTS

+5 defense

Durability- 10/10

----------

CHAIN CHEST-PLATE

+6 Defense

Durability- 10/10

----------

"Woah....it's shittier than my previous gear." He said while looking at it with a frown.

'Well, better than nothing, I guess....'

He wore the equipment; the weird thing was that he couldn't feel that he was even wearing anything. It was like he had no sense.

Another weird thing was how the pants fixed on his hip bones as if this armor was specifically made for beings with only bones.

'Hm... it's been a few hours, and I don't feel hungry.' Kyle wanted to smile, yet there was nothing that could show this smile.

Without wasting time, he went directly up to the next floor.

----------

A whole day passed in the dungeon. A Skeleton wearing chain armor all around its body could be seen dancing among many skeletons making a skull fall on the floor with every step.

"Okay! Only you four are left. I left you all for the end..... now, ENTERTAIN ME!" He jumped high in the room and reached the four skeletons instantly.

CRACKLE! CRACKLE! CRACKLE!

The mouths of the skeletons opened and closed fast, making a crackling sound from the jaw. Then, all four of them attacked together.

Kyle connected the sword with the first attacker and pushed forward; the Skeleton stepped back a few steps trying to regain its balance.

Kyle went to the next one and slashed his sword at its rib; the chain armor on it shuddered a little and made it fall back.

CLANG!

His armor made a loud sound; looking back, he saw a skeleton that had smashed its sword on its chest plate.

"Fucking bitch! I don't have more of those!" He roared and attacked its head, covered with a chain helmet.

The sword hit and broke while also making a significant impact killing the level 3.

[EXP +20]

THUD!

It fell to the ground and Kyle urgently took a new sword in his hand. Having three skeletons who were a little proficient in the sword was not easy to kill.

In 15 minutes, all the skeletons had become dead. Kyle was sitting on the ground with a face shape that looked like a frown.

'I have already cleared five floors; just how many are there? My level has risen too.'

'Well... it's not like I am exhausted or anything; I even got some levels from the grind....'

He got up, making the chain armor make a rustling sound. After many loud steps, he finally reached above the stairs. Unlike before, there was no narrow path to walk. Kyle looked straight with his eyes shining with bright blue color.

".....finally," He looked in the front.

A big skeleton wearing black armor was looking at Kyle with indifference. It was sitting on a big chair that looked kind of royal. A long sword was near it taking support of the chair.

The big Skeleton did not react at first but then got up from the chair. A lot of dust came from around its body as if it had not gotten up for ages.

Kyle wasn't sure if it would attack him or not; the Skeleton was clearly disturbed from his presence up in the dungeon. It was just that it didn't know how to react.

Kyle made it more accessible; he dashed towards the enormous Skeleton with his sword. The latter finally equipped the long sword in its hand.

Kyle jumped and vertically slashed his sword with all his might; the big Skeleton defended itself with the shiny long sword.

CLANG!

The sword connected, and Kyle tried to overpower it with his strength. But, unfortunately, the Skeleton wasn't backing down, putting all his power in Defense.

The time was up as he got back on the floor and made some distance with the big Skeleton. Now that he looked up close, the Skeleton was about 7.5 feet tall, while Kyle was only 6 feet.

"Fuck...." He looked at the sword that was not in good shape; the blade was moving a lot while the hilt was still making the sword's balance shit.

The Skeleton ran towards him with the sword high in the air; it attacked Kyle moving the blade right at its head.

Kyle backed down, looking at the sword move closely towards his head. He stepped back, and the blade hit the ground, making a loud sound.

BANG!

'Now!' He thought quickly, looking at the massive span of hand moving the sword up slowly. He moved forward and climbed at the long arm. The Skeleton didn't even feel that Kyle was heavy and kept getting his arm up with the sword.

Kyle moved upward and jumped, reaching its head.

BANG!

A punch hit on the Skeleton's face; it moved its head in the other direction from the punch's effect. Kyle took hold of the Skeleton's shoulder and did a muscle up. The muscle up was too easy with this body and Kyle concluded that it was because his body weight was nothing.

He grabbed the Skeleton's neck and got up, with legs around the neck. Kyle started hitting it with the most potent punches he got.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The loud sound of hitting something resounded in the big room. The Skeleton couldn't do anything as his head moved left-right with every hit. The skeletons were very durable monsters. It was tough even to break their limbs. But nothing is invincible; the only sensitive part of the skeletons was the back of their head.

Every time Kyle hit the back of its head with a punch, the Skeleton felt a ringing sound in its head.

'Tsk...Am I becoming dumb like these walking bones too?' He thought, facepalming his skull.

The skull of the Skeleton was covered with a black helmet. All this while, Kyle was hitting the armor rather than the skull. It was effective as it was not able to attack but not lethal. He pulled the helmet quickly from the head and threw it towards the ground.

THUMP!

"Now we are getting somewhere!" Kyle said in a hoarse voice, hitting the skull non-stop. Kyle was thrilled and lucky to find such an easy boss, but that was not the case.

If one were unaware of the skeletons' weakness, they could end up fighting these relentless bones until they were utterly exhausted. Meanwhile, the skeletons would continue their merciless assault, their hard, bony hands inflicting deadly blows. Many fell victim to their vicious, unyielding attacks.

After a while,

CRACK!

[EXP +55]

[Unarmed combat level up!]

[Congratulations for clearing the dungeon]

[Calculating awards]

[Low tier creature detected]

[Ownership of the dungeon can be changed.]

[Acquire the ownership of the dungeon?]

Kyle got off the falling Skeleton while reading the notifications. Ownership? That too of the dungeon!?

"What the actual fuck, Why would I be the owner of a dungeon?" Kyle couldn't understand. He clicked on the highlighted 'Dungeon owner' text, opening another tab.

----------

DUNGEON OWNER

Dungeon Status- Level 1

Number of monsters that can be accommodated- 110

You can disown the ownership anytime you want, except under exceptional circumstances.

----------

'Me? a dungeon boss? Are you kidding me?' Kyle couldn't help but be reluctant to own a dungeon.

This concept was new to him as owning a dungeon was never an option for the humans or so he believed. Not much was known about the humans on the top other than how they ruled over the world for a decade now.

'But this looks like a good opportunity. I can't roam around in the human civilization like this' He looked at his body parts and frowned. He hadn't thought about what to do after clearing the dungeon.

'This is like an opportunity I could have never got while being a human.' His eyes shone, thinking of what he could do after accepting.

"Well... I can disown it anytime, so..... no worries I guess?"

He clicked the accept button and felt an energy coursing inside his body, since he got this body, Kyle was unable to only hear and speak, all the other things were non existent for him.

[Congratulation on becoming a dungeon owner!]

[New Title Gained- Dungeon Owner]

[Please look at the Dungeon status]

He looked at the left of his status screen and found the dungeon tab; A big screen opened after he clicked on it.

"Hm.....the ones I killed?" He looked at the big Skeleton in front of him. Then, after some thought, he just clicked the restore button.

'Fuck....I have fifty extra mana which is better than before, but damn, it took thirty mana points to restore them.'

CRACK!

The sound of bones creaking fell in his ears. Kyle looked at the big Skeleton, which was as if getting remodeled. Every bone broke and joined again, making it a disturbing sound, but what mattered was that the Skeleton was back alive.

Kyle looked at the Skeleton with weird eyes, 'The room was of the big Skeleton's at first. Now...where will it go?'

To his surprise, he clicked on the surveillance button, and many screens opened in front of him, showing every part of the dungeon.

All the skeletons were revived and moved around mindlessly in their respective rooms. Kyle even had the option to move them around without going to them.

"You will stay here and help me practice my sword. We will have to raid other dungeons to make ours the strongest in the world!"

There was not much reaction from the Giant Skeleton, but it went towards one of the corners and stood there looking at its Owner with indifference.

"Ughh... whatever"

He clicked on the Raid tab in the hope of getting the dungeon points fast.

-------------------

Kyle could see many options; some were familiar to him, while some were new.

'Did my team also change bodies like me?' He thought wanting to meet one more time. They were the weakest that had banded together to have some chance in life.
