Chapter 150: Bring out the war hammer axe

Jade bolted past Legion and the flying pests he released. She set her eyes on the two mortals still at the entrance of the cavern. Sid had long disappeared along with the dark energy haze from the explosion.

Lanse spoke hurriedly to Szedra. "Szedra, give me the fragment. We only have one other and we're not losing this one."

They weren't close but Szedra thought it was better Lanse lost the fragment than her. Lanse hinting that she was weak never crossed her mind as she unzipped her pouch. She threw the wrapped plastic ball to him the fastest she could. Nothing could have snatched it between reaching his fingers.

The fragment had merely reached Lanse's hand when the whoosh approaching it made him pull it back fast. The invisible object missed his hand. But the purple ball of glowing energy about to blast into his face wouldn't. The light illuminated the palm of an invisible hand inch before him.
