Chapter 2: THE BEGINNING
" It's an honour to have you here, in kingdom Vetimom. I hope every second that passes flows for your comfort. I'll take your leave and summon king Agememnom". Elixia said and courtesied before she left king Agriba of Gothen, who didn't bother to give his. She strolled down the corridor while her train trailed behind her. When she got to a certain door, she paused in her tracks, held the door handle but didn't push it." My baby". Elixia said and faced the path she was heading, then continued her journey. " My queen. You can't go to the king's chamber in this condition. It's far from here. Why don't I..."."No. It's a pressing matter. That's why I need to see the king, my husband". Elixia cut the maid off. Which caused the maid to tremble with her head down.
The chamber of the king was the farthest from that of the guest. And this caused the maids trailing behind the queen to pray in their hearts. They wouldn't want her kissing the floor as that would make them lose their job. And not only that they would lose their lifes. ' How can he ask of my daughter's hand in marriage? She is just three. She hasn't even reached teenage hood?Whyyyyyy?' Elixia cried in her head but maintained her domineering look. The rest of the journey to the king's chamber was silent, as the rest of the maids didn't dare to talk when her personal maid has been silenced.
Finally reaching the chamber of the king, Elixia sighed in relief. The anger in her made her eyes blind and ears deaf to the greetings from the guards and maids that she walked passed. Which surprised them to their marrow. She sashayed into the chamber to make known of her presence. The generals with the king courtesied. But she didn't give hers as her eyes were fixed on the king, her husband."Why are you this heartless?Even to your blood? Our daughter? Why?"Elixia questioned. King Agememnom wasn't surprised at her behaviour as this was how she behaved while pregnant.'Always acting as a baby. How do you get to make all your facial expression suit you?'Agememnom questioned internally. " My lily what happened? What do you want?" He asked in a low but sweet tone. He gestured the generals in his chamber to leave which didn't take them a minute. Standing behind her he placed his hands on her shoulders. His mouth was so close to her ear leaving no space." How about riding me till we get to the dinning hall,huh? Or, you order the maids to spread my clothes on the floor of the hallway, for you as red carpet,hmm?" He joked lowly. Noticing her expression didn't change a bit even at his silly jokes. He walked to face her with utmost seriousness." Okay, what do you want?"." His head".Elixia blurted out not rethinking. A frown climbed his face not understanding what she meant." Whose head?" He asked with his hands crossed across his chest." Agriba."With her answer his hands fell and he cowered backwards. " Can you give it to me or I get it my self?" ' Why is this child making my wife blood thirsty?' He asked internally. Summoning courage he asked"I know so many Agriba. So which...." " Agriba of Gothen. " She cut him short.His eyes widened in fright. He had never seen her in this state. Finally relieving himself of the shock with " Whaaaaat?" The guards outside rushed in. " My king is anything wrong?" Questioned obviously the head guard and the others scanned the room with their eyes. Elixia turned to face them. " Nothing is wrong. The king was just surprised I walked all the way from the guest chamber to his". She explained with a genuine smile on her face. Then the guards mouths twisted in form of 'oh'. And the guards looked at the king whose expression has changed from that of shock to confusion. Then they turned to leave. Agememnom walked to face her.
Immediately the door was closed. Her frown returned, even looking more dangerous. This caused Agememnom to blink a few times but what he saw wasn't imagination. Her face clearly showed anger but her eyes thirst. He couldn't tell what she thirst for." Um, Elixia are you okay?Or was the walk excruciating?" He asked dragging her nearer to him." Arrrgh". She pushed herself from his hold." Don't you get it?" Now her back was turned to face him. " He wants to marry Marimus, one of the twins".She completed her sentence with a face ready to sob. He placed a hand on her shoulder." Why don't you rest now,okay? Leave the rest to me." " Okay" . Her reply washed away all her expressions as sleep can in slowly.
He helped her as she walked further into the chamber. Then he gently placed her on the bed.'Of all things in the world. Agriba asked for my daughter's hand in marriage, in exchange for an army?' He questioned himself. He looked at his wife who was already fast asleep with stress written all over her face. ' This child is quite fragile. Only the thought of one of her sisters getting married at a young age annoyed her. That she let her mother react furious.' He thought internally and smiled. Then strolled out of the chamber heading for that of the guest.
