Chapter 9: Shocking Reveal Part-1

(A.N: This is just an experimental segment, tell me if you liked it.)

The next morning, Ben jolted awake from a vivid dream. In this dream, he found himself in a world entirely made of smoothies—vibrant, colorful, and tempting. With excitement coursing through him, Ben dashed towards the nearest smoothie and eagerly consumed it, relishing every sip. He frolicked around, sampling various flavors and reveling in the blissful paradise of smoothies.

But just as everything seemed perfect, the dream took a dark turn. Vilgax, the formidable villain, ominously appeared and unleashed destruction upon the smoothie world, reducing it to ashes with his terrifying power. Ben's joy turned to rage as he confronted Vilgax, but despite his efforts, he couldn't match Vilgax's strength. Defeated and distraught, Ben watched helplessly as the beloved smoothies faded away before his eyes.

In a moment of despair, Ben's anguished cry echoed through the dream world, "Nooooooooo!" And with that, he abruptly woke up, still reeling from the intensity of his emotions and the vividness of the dream. Frustrated by the abrupt end to his smoothie-filled fantasy, Ben grappled with the lingering sense of loss as he woke up to reality.

--------- At Plumbers HQ----------

Max Tennyson was briefing the Plumbers on their new assignments, ensuring everyone understood their tasks. Meanwhile, Rook waited patiently for Ben to join him for their patrol.

Eventually, Ben strolled in through the elevator, casually sipping on a smoothie. Max glanced at Ben with a mix of amusement and exasperation, questioning why he was late. Ben responded wearily, admitting, "I kinda overslept, Grandpa. Needed some smoothie to recharge myself."

Max sighed, shaking his head at Ben's typical behavior. "Only you would treat a smoothie like a cup of coffee," he remarked with a hint of affectionate exasperation.

Then, turning to Ben, Max advised, "Don't keep your partner waiting, Ben. It's important for both of you to understand each other properly."

"Fine, grandpa," Ben responded, accepting Max's advice. He then turned to Rook, offering a sincere apology for his tardiness. "Sorry about that, Rook. Ready to hit the road?" With that, he hopped into the Rust bucket, Rook's new ride.

As Rook looked around, his excitement for their new crime-fighting adventure was palpable. He couldn't contain his curiosity and began asking Ben about everything he found interesting along the way.

Ben's frustration from his dream compounded with Rook's incessant questioning, causing his patience to wear thin. As they searched through most of Bellwood's alien areas, they encountered zero crimes, leaving Ben eager to blow off some steam.

By the time they stopped searching, night had fallen. Just as they were about to head back, they encountered a punk-styled man wielding an alien tech phone. Rook was surprised by this sight and turned to Ben, asking about their next course of action.

Ben signals to Rook to stay quiet and follow the man, who Ben identifies as Corvo. Corvo is known to be associated with the mob, particularly working for Fistrick.

Ben recalls that this is the same time where he encountered a Megawatt seeking his help. Ben and Rook discreetly enter an alley where Corvo is engaged in a secretive conversation on his phone.

As they believed they were being stealthy, Corvo had already noticed their presence. Swiftly, he ends his call and morphs his phone into a blaster, unleashing a barrage of shots at Ben and Rook, prompting them to swiftly dodge the incoming fire.

Corvo swiftly dashes to his getaway car and speeds off down the road, leaving Ben and Rook in hot pursuit.

Ben quickly turns to Rook and instructs, "You follow him with Rust Bucket, while I chase him solo." Rook swiftly acknowledges the plan and rushes off to retrieve his proto-truck.

Ben then quickly activates his Omnitrix, intending to transform into Jetray, but instead, he finds himself transforming into Spider-monkey.

Ben curses at the Omnitrix in frustration, muttering, "Oh, come on! I've been using you gently. Why are you still giving me the wrong alien? Anyway, now's not the time to argue. I have a criminal to catch."'

"Okay, time to improvise, Spider-Man style... ahem, spider-monkey style!" Ben exclaims. He jumps into the air and spits webbing from his tail, swinging around the buildings with supreme agility, parkour, and maneuvering, just like a certain superhero.

In just a few minutes, Ben caught up to Corvo's car and started shooting webs at the car's tires. The tires got entangled, causing the car to quickly lose control and crash into a nearby pole. Just in time, Rook arrived in the Rust Bucket and apprehended Corvo with cuffs while Ben transformed back to his normal form.

As Corvo tried to plead innocent, Ben quickly opened the car hood, revealing a broken container inside. From the container, a spark generated, and cracks began to form on its surface. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning escaped from the container and landed on the ground.

Corvo attempted to feign ignorance of the crime, but all of his actions had been recorded, leaving no room for escape. Meanwhile, the Megawhatt was rejoicing in its newfound freedom. Rook, unsure of what to do, pointed his blaster at the Megawhatt, ready to act if necessary.

This did not go unnoticed by the Megawhatt, who playfully attempted to zap Rook. As Rook endured the zaps, Ben found amusement in the unfolding drama. Eventually, Rook, growing irritated, asked for forgiveness, which prompted the Megawhatt to cease its assault on him. Instead, it redirected its zaps towards Corvo, seeking retribution for the trauma he had caused.

The Megawhatt ceased its zapping after some time, seemingly satisfied with the retribution it had inflicted upon Corvo. As the Plumbers arrived on the scene, they swiftly apprehended Corvo, preparing to bring him in for interrogation.

Ben quickly comprehends the Megawhatt's intentions as it bounds excitedly in a particular direction. Realizing that the creature is leading them to the boss's lair, Ben instructs Rook to follow its lead. Meanwhile, he contacts the Plumbers and requests a large containment box capable of holding a significant number of Megawhatts. Although the Plumbers are puzzled by the unusual request, they agree to procure the container as Ben requested.

As Rook sets off to follow the trail, Ben activates his Omnitrix and transforms into a suitable alien for the pursuit.
