Chapter 2: The Bully got Bullied

Narrated by Alex

We both ran through the woods, and were in town soon. The Bender Institute was located on the outskirts of the city, and we had a lot of distance to cover. Some friends waved to us, but we were in too much of a hurry to wave back.

We went from the suburbs into the commercial streets, where markets had been set up, and hawkers were selling commodities. There was also a huge shopping central, and it was crowded. We passed through Stronghold Central Square, also known as the Heart of the City. This place always had a crowd somewhere, even at night. All types of events and competitions were conducted here.

A bus was waiting for passengers, and we climbed on. A few seats were empty, and we took a couple. The bus started moving, and we were on our way to the Bradlow Gates, which separated the plains from the city.

"I wonder how we should introduce ourselves," I said,"I'm excited just at the thought! Do we begin with a brag? You know, show our feats off, and impress the gals?"

"That's the lamest way you could introduce yourself," John laughed,"Gals? You came here for girls and popularity?"

"Well no, but still! My reputation would be off the charts if I could steal the hottest girl there!"

"You and your reputation," John laughed again,"I'd just go with the flow."

"Go with the flow?"

"Yup. You'll see"

The bus came to a halt, as a small crowd was present in front of the Bradlow Gates. They looked like our age, so they were probably the other new people joining the School.

"Well, we got company," John said, and got off the bus stand,"I prefer keeping to myself. Do you wanna try 'the brag'?"

"Maybe?"

John laughed again, which was a bit annoying now,"At least fix your clothing," and threw a shirt at me.

"Where'd ya get that from?"

"I always keep spare clothes. Anyway, cover yourself up. You don't wanna look like a brat"

I wasn't really looking like a punk, you know. I wore a white tank top, showing off my toned and muscular body, black denims, and white sneakers. But still, I put the cobalt blue shirt on, and it looked alright.

John sported a clean white tee, and wore a red checked shirt over it, unbuttoned. He too was fit and somewhat muscular, but he never really showed it. He had an oblong face, brown and calm eyes which never showed any excitement, and dark brown hair in a crew cut. Overall, he looked handsome. But I was the more handsome one.

We got off the bus, where the crowd waited for something.

"What happened?" John asked a boy

"Oh, nothing. It's just Gordon doing his usual dose of bullying."

John shuffled through the crowd, and I followed him. As we reached the front, we saw a red haired boy bullying a girl. The boy wasn't really that buff, but the girl was small, so he wasn't struggling.

"Hand it over," the boy smirked,"Hand it over now!"

The blondie reached into her pocket, and pulled out a wad of cash, tears in her eyes.

The boy smirked,"Well, now that's done. But there's still something left."

He grabbed her shoulders, and brought his face close to hers. It was pretty obvious what he was going to do. The audience did nothing, instead many took out their phones, camera rolling.

Then, a hand rested on his shoulder. John's hand.

"Gordon, huh? Good morning!" John cheerfully smiled.

"And who are you?" Gordon snapped back.

"Me? Name's John Will!" John said cheerfully.

"And what business do you have to do with me? Buzz off. I already have some business here."

"Oh, nothing. I just wanted to ask you if you could trouble yourself a bit, by letting the girl go, and have a peaceful life."

The boy turned to John," And why do you care what I do to her? You her boyfriend?"

A few laughed among the audience

John smirked, and looked down,"As a matter of fact, I don't even know her. But the thing is...."

He looked up again, with seriousness in his face. He landed a punch to Gordon's jaw, sending him down!

He looked down at Gordon,"I just don't like bullies."

John's voice was already deep enough normally, and when he spoke this statement, it seemed even deeper.

Nervous whispers among the audience as Gordon got back up, and slightly laughed,"So, you've got some fight in you, huh?"

He punched John back, sending him down, but John saw that early on, and recovered quickly,"Let's not start a fight now."

Gordon grinned,"Oh, but it's already started. My bad."

He went for another punch, but John dodged, and Gordon suddenly screamed. John had given him a hard punch in his..... Y'know, below his abdomen, between his legs......

Anyway, Gordon collapsed, clutching his crotch, while John turned to me, and said, "Get moving?"

"Sure."

As we turned, the girl slowly got up, and turned to Gordon, who was still in pain.

She fixed her hair, revealing dark blue eyes on a beautiful but timid face. She bent over Gordon, and reached into his pocket, pulling the cash out.

Then, she began taking her revenge,"Idiot! Freak! Donkey!" she shouted as she repeatedly kicked his crotch. It was clear that she wasn't experienced in cussing. She vented her anger out, and took a breather. She turned to John, and a blush was clearly visible on her face,"Th-thanks.." she blurted out in a tiny and soft voice. Awesome. John got the proper intro, and the gal too.

"It's alright," John said, and then turned to me,"Let's move?"

"Sure," I replied

We began making our way into the plains, and the grey school building was up ahead.....
