Chapter 3: Silver bullets part 1

It was a calm night with a lovely full moon. The land was lit up by the brightness of the full moon. It was rather odd that nobody was seen outside to witness the magnificence of the moon. Because this same lovely moon was the very source of power for the wolves that were pushed into the forest by the humans.

It was at this time that they had access to their full power. Human kids were told frightening stories about the full moon to protect them. It was with this mindset that the humans grew. In constant fear of what they did not fully understand.

During nights like this, every human would be in their bed snoring, but for the wolves, it was a night to hunt! Hunt any unfortunate soul who would be found wandering too far from the safety of their home.

It was on this same night that lord Aiden had gone to hunt for animals. He was in his woof form so that no human would take notice of him. When werewolves took their actual form they looked like normal wolves except much bigger, agile, stronger, and had blood-red eyes that screamed danger.

Unlike other wolves who were out to hunt humans he only hunted large animals.

The ten years old Nicholas had sneaked out of the house in an attempt to follow his father. He was in human form because for some reason he nor his siblings could take their wolf forms since birth. But that didn't mean they were left with nothing. They had some pretty cool tricks up their sleeves.

Nicholas' sharp ears heard a commotion from the town square. Though it was faint to the human ear he was no ordinary human. He leaped to the town square and the sight that greeted him made his eyes widen.

The human had forks and torches in their hands. A pole was placed in their midst and on the pope was a wolf he knew. His father!

The little boy wanted to help but his father looked at him. Silently telling him not to interfere. He wasn't in his usual form so the humans had no idea they were about to burn their beloved lord.

Nicholas watched as they lit the pile of wood underneath the pole. The Lord's body was engulfed with flames but he made noise, not even a single wail of plea. He just stared at his son who was among the people. He knew his son wanted to help but if his son did it would expose his identity and not only his but put his siblings' life in jeopardy.

The lady had passed away soon after the death of Aiden because she shared a bond with him.

...

Luna and her aunt and uncle were trouble. Their cattle had gotten missing or was killed because there were bloodstains where they kept the animal.

They would have suspected it was a werewolf but they had made sure to get rid of any woof in the community so it couldn't be any of those creatures.

Luna's uncle had brought the matter up to the magistrate but he had brushed it away like it was nothing. Luna never liked that magistrate even though he showed interest in her. He was a little older than her and a very aloof person. He had been appointed recently and since his appointment nothing had gone well.

Luna stood in front of the magistrate's office banging the door. She wouldn't have gotten the courage to do something like that but when you have a mob backing you up it wasn't that hard.

It seemed like the same faith had met the livestock of the people who stood in front of the magistrate's office.

The door opens suddenly and Luna almost hit banged on the bulky man who opened it.

"Come in." His voice was deep and serious.

When Luna and her aunt were about to enter the man stopped them.

" Not you. Only her."He said pointing to me.

Her aunt didn't like the idea of Luna going there alone so she tried to protest but the man wouldn't budge until she eventually gave up.

Luna entered the medium-sized office and the bulky man closed the door behind her. She looked around and notice the magistrate was sitting in front of his desk.

The files and parchment were pushed as side and a bottle of wine was placed at the center.

"Take a sit, Luna."He said ushering her to a seat opposite his.

"It's miss Allen for you," Luna said fiercely before taking her seat.

That was the exact reason why the magistrate liked her. She wasn't the type of girl who acted shy and innocent before men. She told you what she felt and nothing less.

They were now sitting opposite each other with the desk between them.

The magistrate glared at the bulky man and he turned to face the other way like what was going on was of his business.

"I told you we should stop addressing each other formally. We could use our first name." The magistrate said.

Luna rolled her eyes. She didn't want to raise his hopes by calling him by his first name.

Luna cleared her throat loudly when she noticed the magistrate was watching her chest not her face.

"My face is up here not down there." The magistrate looked startled that he had been caught staring.

"I was just staring at the design of your dress. It's a nice dress."

He lied.

"I'm sure you were, "Luna said sarcastically.

" Have you thought about my offer?"He asked her.

At first, Luna wondered what this man was talking about before it dawned on her. A few days ago he had told her to marry her. He had made a lot of promises none of which Luna was interested in but she still played along.

"I have no interest in you Mr. Hall! I never did and I never will!"Luna dropped the act. She was tired of him trying to flirt with her.

The magistrate looked at her angrily. He hit the table with his hand which startled Luna.

For a second Luna could see the magistrate-eyed come blood red before he blinked it away.

" Y-you are not h-human!" Luna said stammering out of shock. The majesty was a wolf. And here they thought they had gotten rid of any wolf in the village yet they were being led by one. How ironic!

Luna tried to run away but the bulky man was soon behind her.

Her aunt had told her never to use her elemental ability but Luna used it.

She pushed the bulky man using the wind and was about to run but before she could, she felt someone hold her shoulder.

"What a waste. A Hansonian. I'd have to kill you now. But before that, I would have a taste of you"The magistrate said. This time Luna could see his blood-red eyes and fangs that were sharp and pointy.

The magistrate pinned her down with so much strength that Luna became weak from the impact.

The was a loud knock on the door but the magistrate just shouted back" I'm busy right now go away!"

The door suddenly broke open and Luna saw the last person she would have thought would be here. It was the lord and behind him was Lucas.

"I'm honored to have you ad guests, Milord."The magistrate stood up from Luna and looked at the lord and his brother.

"What perfect timing," Lucas said looking at the familiar woman who was on the floor.

The magistrate looked both irritated and scared right now. H had received some visits from the Lord's brother but he never expected to have the lord himself grace his office with his presence.

It was when Lucas went to help Luna out did he finally recognize her, "Luna!" He said looking more horrified than surprised.

The lord was also shocked when he heard his brother call out her name. The shocked expression on his face quickly turned to anger.

"Why did you have her pinned down."The lord asked angrily.

The magistrate was confused. How did they know her and why was the lord suddenly annoyed with him.

" I can explain milord. She is a Hansonian spie!" Luna looked at the magistrate with an unbelievable expression on her face.

Lot Nicholas raised his thin brow in question.

"I was dealing with her."The magistrate continued to defend himself.

Lucas pulled out a revolver from his pocket and aimed it at the magistrate's forehead.

" He's a werewolf," Luna said with much struggle.

The magistrate laughed, not bothered with the fact that a gun was pointed right at his head.

"Those bullets won't hurt me."The wolf stated the obvious fact. Ordinary bullets could not harm the wolves or vampires.

" Are you sure about that?"Lucas shot the magistrate's leg. The magistrate screamed in pain as the bullet sank into his skin.

How? The bullet wasn't supposed to hurt! Not this much at least.
