Chapter 148: Do some actual damage instead of simply asking for help
Glaring at his missing hand, the devil healed himself once again and decided to take the little human more seriously.
Speaking out more mysterious words, multiple tentacles started to move toward Secre, ready to attack.
Secre looked at all of them and was about to deal with them.
[Light Magic Mana Zone: Lamp of Avior Gloria]
[Sword Magic: Origin Flash Rampage]
All the nearby tentacles were destroyed in an instant before Secre could even make a move.
"Sorry, Secre but-" said Lumiere.
"-let us finish what we started 500 years ago." continued Licht.
The two looked towards the devil with determined looks on their faces.
The devil looked back at them as well and wondered how were their spells working on his magic that devoured the magic of the human world.
While he was in thought Licht and Lumiere started their assault in full force and started attacking at great speed and power, not giving the devil any chance to utter a word.
Secre looked at the scene and walked back to Sekke.
"Looks like that was all that I could show you right now," said Secre.
"Hm. Don't worry. It was great. You will get more chances to show off in the future so don't lose hope." replied Sekke and simply smiled.
Secre smiled back and was about to start talking but soon turned around when she heard Licht call out Lumiere's name in worry.
"Lumiere!"
Looking towards the first wizard king, Sekke noticed that he had lost his hand and was about to be stabbed by a black trident.
But all of a sudden Yuno's end Asta got in action and rushed to help the wizard king.
Using Yuno's wind magic Asta shot forward in his black mode and intercepted the trident with his demon slayer sword.
"Nice save Asta!" cheered Sekke as he simply watched the show.
"You aren't gonna help them?" asked Secre in worry.
"Not yet," replied Sekke with a shrug.
"Why?!"
"I made a bet with Yami-san. It would be unfair if I just went ahead and beat the devil when he was not even in the room. So I am waiting for him to come back." explained Sekke in a calm tone as he simply watched the fight.
"Are you being serious?" asked Secre feeling slightly pissed at the dark lord.
"Well yeah. I mean, if you want you can go ahead and help them. I will deal with him if things go too much out of hand. But that's that." said Sekke as he simply made a throne for himself and sat down.
Secre looked at her partner with a surprised look on her face and then back at the scene above.
Deciding to deal with Lumiere's injury first she flew toward him and started healing him.
"You sure it won't backfire, my other half?" asked Vritra.
'It probably shouldn't. I mean if he has something that can wipe us out then there is no point whether we fight him now or later. Not to mention, apart from him getting back to life from the brink of death again and again using his magic. He is not that much of a big deal. We simply drain him out of mana. One punch. He dead.'
Vritra stayed silent not knowing what to say. His host's deduction was accurate according to him and he too felt that the devil was not that big of a deal if they fought in the mode or even in the [Berserker] mode.
The two simply stayed silent and watched the fight unfold waiting for either Yami to take action or for something bad to happen.
"Oi! Sekke! Quit slacking and help us defeat this guy!!!" said Asta as he saw Sekke watching the fight while sitting on a throne.
"For someone who always keeps on saying that he's gonna be the wizard king you are surprisingly quick to ask for help," replied Sekke.
"What did you say, you bastard?!?!?!"
"Asta....do some actual damage instead of simply asking for help."
Hearing those words Asta was about to argue once again but feeling the seriousness of his tone, Asta stopped and stared at Sekke.
Sekke was looking back at Asta with a serious expression on his face as if saying, 'Just do it, you idiot! What are you waiting for?!?!'
"...Alright, just stay back and watch me surpass my limits," said Asta in a calm tone as he took out his demon destroyer sword as well.
Yuno who was beside Asta looked back at Sekke and he too could feel his gaze on him.
Remembering how badly the man who was sitting on the throne bested him in the royal knight's selection exam, Yuno clenched his fists tightly.
'I am still nowhere close to his level...I need to surpass my current self. I need to break my limits.' thought Yuno in a serious tone.
Secre looked at her partner and felt surprised since she thought that he was just being unreasonable to not help the others in taking down the devil when in reality he just wanted to help Asta to surpass his limits.
'Does he think that Asta's anti-magic is the key to this victory?' thought Secre.
Sekke on the other hand simply yawned since the action stopped for a while.
'Come back Yami-san. This is getting boring.' thought Sekke.
"You all really have quite some time to talk around during a fight. I advise you to hurry it up though." said the devil in a slightly mocking tone.
Everyone focused back on the devil waiting for him to explain his words.
Feeling the attention a huge smirk appeared on his face as he simply opened his hands and more portals spewing mana and life-devouring tentacles appeared.
"No matter how much you blow away this magic, it will keep flowing until you defeat me. Since the exit is on this top floor, all of your friends in the lower levels will be swallowed up and die if you keep wasting time." explained the devil as he started laughing.
"You bastard!" yelled Asta in anger as he gritted his teeth.
"Is that so...Noelle, Fana, Anna, with me," ordered Sekke as he stood up from his throne.
Everyone's attention shifted to Sekke as he simply stretched his body.
"You all fight. I will get the rest of them here. Fana, and Anna, explain the situation to the other elves."
Hearing his words, Asta and the others smirked while Noelle and fire magic elves nodded.
"You sure want to leave them to save the others. I can kill them all in that time you know." taunted the devil.
"Well, I'm gonna place my bet on you being a one-trick pony and not that strong. Just remember. Once I'm back. You're dead." said Sekke with a smile as he simply jumped off the bronze platform.
Seeing him fall into the sea of tentacles the others panicked while the devil just smirked thinking that the idiot was just jumping towards his death.
However, the mana around Sekke soon started to turn violent, and immediately the devil's eyes shook in horror.
"...A dragon."
Turning to his Dragonforce mode Sekke faced the sea of tentacles in front of him and simply took a deep breath.
A strong blast of black flames came out of his mouth engulfing the tentacles in front of him and destroying all of them in an instant along with the ground.
Seeing the hole appearing on the floor, Noelle and the other two immediately followed Sekke and went to rescue their friends.
Meanwhile, back in the room, the others smiled seeing Sekke and the others leave safely and turn their attention back to the devil who was looking towards the hole with a frown.
"...I might need to finish this soon and get out." muttered the devil im a serious tone.
