Chapter 7: [New World Arc] Part 7: Acceptance and...Marriage?
After watching the fight outside and chuckling at the random students' performance and Keigo's reactions, I went back to my seat and waited for the teacher to arrive in the room. In the meantime, I was recapping the things that had happened to me today.
Yuta: 'I was in a hospital and I suddenly woke up in the world of Bleach. My appearance is the same as the Yuta Okkotsu from Jujutsu Kaisen but it seems only physically since my identity is different. Everything I've seen so far has made me dismiss the idea that this is all a prank.'
While I was thinking, I didn't notice that the teacher had entered the room...and I continued with my thoughts.
Yato: 'I thought about the possibility of it being some kind of simulation, but I think the most a simulator could do would be to show me images and maybe make me feel something on my skin through another machine or something…but…I could taste that coffee...'
Misato: "Yato Yasakani?"
Yato: 'If this was a dream…I would have woken up for sure.'
Misato: "Yasakani?"
Yato: 'Does that mean that somehow I'm really in this world? What happened? I died and came here? Where is my helper system!? I didn't talk to any God on the way! Nobody gave me any tutorials!'
Misato: "YASAKANI!!!"
I was startled when I heard the teacher. In addition to being quite distracted by this new information, I still hadn't gotten used to my new name. Without thinking too much, I quickly raised my left hand to show that I was attentive…which I wasn't.
Yato: "I'm here, sensei!"
Misato: "Pay attention! I told you not to sleep in my class!"
???: "He was probably thinking about his wife, sensei."
Yato: '...Wife…?'
The voice came from one of Ichigo's friends, Mizuiro Kojima, and although his comment was completely random and nonsensical, it gave rise to a tremendous uproar in the class.
???: Wow! It is true! Look!
Another student, whose name I don't know, spoke pointing in my direction, more specifically, to the left hand that I had raised. When I looked at my hand I noticed something…that wasn't there before.
Yato: 'A wedding ring…?'
Misato: "That's amazing, Yasakani! I had no idea that some people get married this early these days. Was this an arranged marriage by any chance?"
As I was still intrigued by that ring, I didn't really notice what they were saying. All I could think about was
Yato: 'This wasn't here before…'
Keigo: "Seriously!? What kind of person gets married at 15!? How can a guy just throw his life away so soon!?"
It looked like Keigo intended to talk some more but he fell flat on his face, courtesy of a punch from Ichigo.
When I realized, with the exception of Ichigo, Chad and Uryu, almost all the students in the room were surrounding me and filling me with questions that I couldn't understand because they were all talking at the same time, but whatever it was, they were all very excited. The funniest thing was that even the teacher joined in the conversation for a while.
???: "Tell me more about her! Is she from here?" - said one of Orihime's friends.
As I was in a combination of startled by my discovery of being in this world with my sudden exhaustion, I thought the girl was referring to the ring.
Yato: I don't think so…?
