Chapter 2: Flashback
"Mom please don't leave me", I say choking back tears as I saw my mom in her last moments wearing her white wedding dress now soaked in red blood.
"I'll always be with you", she said taking off her necklace. "Marlene, be strong and never trust anyone, no matter how trusting they seem". "What does that mean", I cried out as my mom took her last breath, leaving me with so many questions and a necklace in my hand.
I was born different than most kids.While normal kids my age were playing with Barbies and toy cars, I was training and studying.
The reason being was that I, like my parents, as a sort of shapeshifter.
It all starts at the age of 8. At this age, all the way till you turn 13, you can change into any animal of your choice. However, as you age your powers start to diminish, till you can only morph into one animal.
I was nine when my mom passed away, and from that day on I knew what I wanted to be. since she was a beautiful fox, I had decided that once I turned 13 I would try to permanently turn into a fox as well.
However, as I stated before, I tried.
Once the very anticipated time came, I stood before my peers and my dad including his comrades. Once they signaled for me to transform I readied myself and poof.
I looked down and saw my paws. I was a bit surprised to see that I was very small for a fox, but once I saw my dad's surprised face. I understood.
I have not turned into the beautiful fox I had hoped for instead... I had turned into...
A DOG! A small white dainty and poofy Pomeranian dog.
Oh just great!
Now I'm stuck with the second form of a freaking dog.
