Chapter 45: VISIONARY
Thunder only heard the word scram and the woman was gone. He looked in all his four directions from where he was standing but he didn't see her again. He wondered how did she disappeared.
He walked back to Amanda's house with a deep thought and a confused look.
"I didn't know you love strawberry cupcakes!".
Thunder was startled by the voice. "Alpha Luke!". He saw him pointing at his suit. He looked at his suit and saw the smudge on it. He remembered the girl who throw herself onto him. "Ah, there was a beautiful girl outside running with a strawberry cupcakes on her hand and she just landed on me by accident". He was smiling like a fool. Like a lovestruck fool to be exact.
Luke's eyes squinted. The only girl he knows that will runaway with cupcakes on her hand is his Mate. He gritted his teeth. Now he has two Alpha as rival.
The long night has ended and everyone bid their goodbyes. The Alphas and Betas of different packs will rest now and tomorrow will be the real deal. Some of the she wolves finds a partner but some didn't and those who didn't are still hoping for a higher ranks to be their mate the reason.... is power.
Selena went back to Stronghold mansion running and panting. She was still holding the cupcakes that Luke left while her tears falls like rain. She can't control them. She has no plan on eating those cupcakes and just treasured them but the cupcakes itself are all disfigured, thanks to the big jerk who chased her and ruined everything, she is totally pissed.
"Did somebody die?".
Selena's step halted. She knows that voice so well. "Luke!".
Two strong arms held her from the back. He inhaled her scent and exhaled loudly.
"I don't like the smell of other men in your skin". His words has a hint of jealousy.
Selena froze hearing his jealous tone. "I'm sorry I had an accident and a guy helped me". She said with full honesty hoping he would believe her as of today she doesn't want any misunderstanding between them.
"It's okay as long as you're alright". Luke sighed. He can feel how tensed Selena is, he don't want her to feel pressure from his possessiveness. Besides he knows what happened and he knows his mate is not at fault. He just hated someone touching her and leave their scent on her skin.
Luke released her and gave her a big box.
"What's this?". She asked him innocently.
"Your favorite". He took the cupcakes from her hands and throw it in a near bin though he felt a little hesitation from her of handing to him those ruined cupcakes he just ignored it. He pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped her hands. "Next time if you want to eat strawberry cupcakes just asked me, okay". He said gently to her.
Selena just nod while staring at the handsome face of her mate with full of love and longing.
"Did you miss me!". Luke sweetly asked without looking at her and while wiping her hands. But a sudden tension envelope his heart. He wish to hear a positive reply from the woman he longed for.
Selena cried. And nod consecutively. "Very much... I miss you so much".
Luke saw how her tears falls like water in a faucet. "Don't cry my love, my heart hurts... I miss you more than you miss me, do you know that?... I feel like dying everyday without you". He said with full of sincerity. After putting the handkerchief on his pocket he hugged her tightly as if he don't want to let her go again.
Selena put her arms to his nape and whispered to his ears. "Will you choose a new mate?".
"Never!.... There is only one you in my life. I don't care what others will say nor what the law states. All I know is, you belong to me and I belong to you and I will find a way to make you mark me, just you wait my love". He also whispered to her ears. He released her and look deep into her eyes while cupping her face. "Promise me that this beautiful pair of eyes will only see me".
"I promise that my eyes and my heart will only see you, all of me belongs to you alone". She kissed him with all of her emotions and love attached. 'Because you are the only man I will ever love'. She carved those words to her heart.
Luke only coaxed her to sleep after ushering her to her occupied room. He didn't stay long. He wants to respect Selena's wishes. He can only have her after she mark him.
Selena who's very tired immediately fall into slumber. She still have traces of tears and Luke wiped them with the back of his index. Her tears can really break his heart.
"I will never let those tears to show up again because of me". Luke leave a sincere promise to his beloved Mate.
A faint smile show in Selena's lips.
Morning.
All the Alpha and Betas gathered in one place. In the Shadow Claw's conference room. The awaited meeting has arrived. Its time to show every cards on the table.
"First of all let me thank you for coming to our Shadow Claw Pack. I know how hard it is for you to leave your Pack because a Pack without an Alpha and his Beta is open for assassination". Luke opened the meeting with a light but direct point. "I know you have a lot of questions, you can start now".
"How did you know those rogues will attack your Pack?". Gavin asked the first question.
Luke's eyes squinted a little. The young Alpha is quite smart he knows what question to ask. "Oracle?". It's a mocking answered for him but sounds like more of a question.
"You have a visionary in your Pack?". Curtis Rivers asked with a surprise.
"Or my warriors are just better guards than yours". Luke changed his answer. It's supposed to be a tease for Gavin but he didn't know that the Alpha of Snow Moon Pack will take it seriously.
"Can you please be straight forward. This is a serious matter, do you or don't you have a visionary in your pack?". Curtis voice sounds irritated. He doesn't like to be played specially when the topic is very important to his Pack.
"If I say yes, will it really matter to you?".
"Yes it matters to me!".
Luke was surprised with his answer. He is gazing Curtis seriously with a question in his eyes.
Curtis sighed and start to talk. "The Snow Moon Pack's great power is having an oracle or visionary. With her vision we can stop attacks or destruction that may harm our clan. But our visionary is very old now and none from our bloodlines of today inherit her gift. But we are still training our little pups hoping that one day we may find one like her again". Curtis have no choice but to reveal their Packs secrets. He let his card down first.
"And you are saying this things because?". Luke knows there's a catch in the end. Revealing a Pack's precious secret, there's always something they want in return.
"Let your visionary marry into my Clan". Curtis said seriously.
Other Alphas looked at each other then shift their eyes to Luke's serious face.
Luke chuckled and suddenly hit the table with his fist. "No!". He said it with a growl.
Drew almost run to his Alpha. He is sensing a killing intent in him and tension arises inside the room. Luke's gesture made everyone becomes defensive and alert.
"I know this is a serious matter but Snow Moon is the best way to go to train your visionary pups or young ones we've been doing this for hundreds of years and I believed with respect, that Shadow Claw training methods are for combat only because you have great warriors here". Curtis subdued his emotions. He needs a clear head if he wants Luke to listen to him and he is right.
Luke's sudden rage mellowed in a moment. He thought Curtis was right but marrying his Mate into their Pack is a big no for him. Besides he is not sure if Selena is a visionary. They haven't talk about it yet.
"I will think about your suggestion". This is the only answer he can give him. He needs to know first what his Mate is thinking or her views. Also he needs to know if this is a part of her ability.
