Chapter 5: First Spirit Soul

This building is huge, was my first impression. It was also beautiful. Second impression.
I went to the reception and asked where I can get my Spirit Soul. After getting my answer, I went to the Spirit Soul acquisition floor. It was also huge and grand. The flooring, I can tell with just a single glance, were more costly than a thousand year old Spirit Soul.
It was a little crowded. Soon my turn came and I went to get my spiritual power tested to know if I can handle a hundred year old ring or not.
Spiritual power is used to fuse with Spirit Rings or Spirit Souls. The higher the Spiritual power, the higher the chances of fusing with higher age soul beasts.
"From low to high, spiritual power is divided into: Spirit Origin, Spirit Connection, Spirit Sea, Spirit Abyss, Spirit Domain, and the fabled Divine Origin. These six realms were quite simple. Everyone is in the Spirit Origin realm when they are born. As for the meaning behind Spirit Origin, it means that it's the single origin everyone starts from."
"Afterwards, nature takes on a new look. This is the most basic of soul levels. You should be at this level. As for the rest, you'll learn it in school so I won't speak of it. Alright then. I'll start testing what degree of Spirit Origin you've reached."
As the staff told me about the basic spiritual power info a metal helmet fell onto my head. Then, metal arms linked together and strapped my head in.
Soon the results showed.

It was my spiritual power. Not high nor low, just in the average line.
"To fuse with an hundred year old beast Spirit Soul, a person need an advanced stage Spirit Origin realm."
"Spirit Origin realm can be ranged between level 1 to 100 spiritual power. Levels 30 and below are elementary ranked. Levels 30 to 60 are intermediate ranked. Levels 60 to 90 are advanced rank. Levels 90 to 100 is the peak of Spirit Origin realm."
Looks like I can't fuse with a hundred year old beast now.
I said.

She answered.
"Can you recommend me which 10 year old Spirit Soul should I choose for my first Spirit ring," I asked the attendant again.
She smiled and replied," Sir , which path would you like to take for you Blue Silver Grass: toxicity or toughness."
'There was no need for the smile but okay.'
"Can I have toxicity and elasticity with good maneuverability."
"Then you should choose the spider and snake type Soul beasts Sir."
"Can you show me the specific list and add the defective ones also."
"... Ok Sir. Just a minute." She professionally went to bring the list.
After a few seconds she came back and showed me the list. It has more than twenty different types of Soul Spirits.
"The Spirit Soul will not actually die or get harmed when I kill them for absorption, right?" I asked with uncertainty. A totally country bumpkin level question but as someone who doesn't even like to think of hurting them in my dreams, despite knowing the fact that I actually won't hurt them, my heart still can't accept it.
I am too weak to face any mental issues.
She replied professionally, "No Sir, the Spirit Soul will not be harmed in any way but you should fuse with it before 24 hours or they will dissipate."
Her answer putting me at ease, although she could be lying and all but I also don't see any reason for her to lie, I am getting self doubts now. Let's focus on something else.
Which one should I choose? All of them are good for my first ring. I had thought while boring through the list with my gaze.
"Can I choose this defective poison snake Spirit Soul."
"Are you sure Sir?"

I am not calm. I need to calm down. I bit my tongue to get some sense into me. The pain awoke me but that didn't help. Let's erase my emotions. All those distracting thoughts went out of my mind. I started to absorb the Spirit Soul.

I have completely absorbed the Spirit Soul and a white coloured ring was floating around me.
The ring was like a light projection along with smoke projection added to it. The ring was like a smoke, my hands can go through it but unlike light where I can't feel it I can feel my Spirit Ring with my fingertips. It's like a really fluffy non sticky cotton candy. The texture is ethereal like it exists and doesn't exist at the same time.
Is it something that only I can touch and feel? or can others touch my spirit rings as well.
Now that's something I would like to research. Was it like the same as the Spirit Pagoda's Spirit Ascension platform or the concept is different from it.
I remember that God has given me a gift. Petroleum something.

'He said that Soul Rings were just to medium to pass the abilities and I already have my gift since the beginning.
My physique was slightly stronger then my peers but that was due to the training I had been doing for the past three years. My intelligence also hasn't increased a single point, I have devolved actually. My speed is also barely able to contend against speed type Spirit Masters of the same group. My little bro is also the same as my old self. Maybe a little smaller it.
Why the heck I am joking at a time like this?
And where is my gift?
Well forget it, you can't trust Gods. He may just be messing with me. I have to check what my first Spirit Souls first ability was.
My Spirit Soul is a 10 year old five poison snake. It was derived from a 2000 year old Five poison snake. This Soul beast has lethal poison and really good maneuverability but lacks defence and attack.
It was a failed product when they were trying to make a hundred year old Spirit Soul.
I was going for the Human faced demonic spider but it was not available for ten year old Spirit Soul series. While Mandala snake was too weak in the ten year old beasts. All the others were those that were not able to mix with my future plans.
So I had to choose this one. Weren't those who transmigrate have better Spirit power. Why was mine so low?
26. Just four more and I would have been able to have the Human Faced Demonic spider for myself.
Well, what happened had already happened , there's no way to change it. I would just accept it as my fate. Plus even though I don't trust that God, I have this tiny hope that he could at least give me a decent gift.
I should already have the Soul skills information when I gained the skill. What is my skill now? Just when I checked the skill information in my memory, a dialogue box appeared in front of me and something changed.

The despair I felt was far weaker than coming to this world but it was still despair. I have been sloshing down the past four years, gathered money however I can and this is what I get?
I think Wulin must had faced the same despair when he was given his defective Spirit Soul.
I had already cursed the God enough in the past four years that now I didn't even have enough energy to get frustrated on it.

I didn't doubt the memory. I was thrilled. If what he said was true and if what I am thinking could become true then it would be something. It would be everything I would need.

Since coming here, in this world, this was the first time that I laughed. It felt amazing. It really did. Maybe that's why Captain wanted to laugh huh.
So how much have I forgotten by now. That there's still a lot more to forget.
