Chapter 2: Smelled The Fragrance OF Him

POV Liam

"Smoochhh.."

"Babe..wake up." A loud smooch landed on my cheek. I could feel the spike of the beard that brushed against my cheek.

"Hmmm...just one more minute.." I grabbed the end of the warm blanket and covered myself with the quilt. I loved the warmth of the bed and especially my body hurt like hell.

"You will be late for work." A smooth voice whispered in my ear making me flinch. I never knew until yesterday that my ears were my sensitive spot.

"I am tired and sleepy." in my hoarse voice I tried pushing away the man who was playing with my earlobes, teasing and trying my patience.

"If you don't I am going to eat you up whole." In a teasing manner, he brought up his hand to caress my back and shoulder in a perverted manner.

"Back off...." I kicked him on his torso. I smiled happily when I heard his painful squeal.

"Heh..serves you right." I was finally going to sleep peacefully again.

"You will regret this.." The voice soon got fainter and fainter until I could hear it no more.

"Huh.!!!"

I gasped in surprise as my blanket was cruelly pulled away like snatching a cotton candy from a child. It was too easy for the man to do that.

As if waking up from a deep sleep, I opened my tightly shut eyes.

"Huff...."

"Huff.."

My chest heaved up and down as I tried controlling my breath and fast-beating heart.

"You are finally awake huh?" A shrill voice entered my ears which were opposite from the one I had heard just a moment ago.

Forcing my eyes open I looked at the blurred person standing with a blanket in front of my bed.

Oh right! How could I forget this? My eyesight had gone bad and I had been using specs for around a year now.

I reached out on the table beside the bed and grabbed my specs. Adjusting it on my nose bridge, I looked at the man who stood before him.

"Oh, it's you, Ryan." I smile at him but a disappointed bitterness entered my heart chilling down the warmth sensation I had gathered up a few moments earlier.

'A dream, I see.' I feel the bitterness turn to numbness until I feel nothing.

"How long were you planning to sleep in for?" Ryan looked at me with a glare in his eyes. "Remember, you are the one on house duty today?"

"Sorry." I smiled scratching my head. "I will get to it soon." I got down from my bed, put on the slippers, and walked to the bathroom.

"You better be quick." I heard him shout after me in irritation.

Oh, don't misunderstand or something. Ryan is not my boyfriend or anything like that. He is just my roommate.

He and I met around two years ago when I left my country and came to the states. He needed one to split the rent and I needed one not too big nor too small.

Since our necessities matched each other we have been living like this but like you just saw he is biased against me.

The reason you ask? I do not know. He may be that way since the beginning.

After a long and warm bath, I got out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped around my waist as water dripped from my wet and curly hair wetting the carpet.

Looking myself at in the mirror, I wondered looking at the manly figure I had.

'What if I was a girl?.. Maybe Robert and I might have been together.' As soon as that thought entered my mind I quickly shrugged it off.

The fact that I am me whatever my orientation I should never forget it and try to change or hate myself for it.

But.....

I was a coward and I am still a coward.

I was a fool and I am still a fool in love.

It has been two years since I left behind my past but he appears in my dream every time, teasing me, giving me illusionary happiness which disappears as soon as I wake up.

"Liam...hurry it up. I am going to be late for my date." Ryan shouted from his room as if him going to his date was the deciding factor of the existence of the Earth.

"I am coming." I dry myself and shout over at him who is munching chips watching the baseball match.

Carrying a tray of food and coffee, I place it on the table.

"Tsk.....super slow." Taking a bite of the toast Ryan focuses on his baseball match again.

-

-

"Finally free." I stretched out my hand in the sky after I came out of the apartment.

"Damn, I am late." Looking at my watch I dash towards the subway to catch the last train to my office. I am not well off to have my car after all.

*Crash*

*Bang*

I collided headfirst into a tall man on the platform.

"Sorry...I am sorry." I apologize bowing down out of my habit and dashed inside the compartment as if my life depended on it.

Well, my career did depend on it, and with it my living money and rent-paying money. My job was my life force so I dared not to get late.

Finally taking a deep breath of relief I sat down on the empty seat.

"Sniff..sniff..."

I smell something other than the cologne on my suit coat. It was light, almost unnoticeable but it was there.

"Thump!!"

"Thump!!"

My heartbeat quickly not because I rushed here but because I felt it.

A familiar smell of the one that made my heart beat like no one else. But what was he doing here??

'He is married, has a beautiful wife and probably two dumplings by now. Don't delude yourself." I scolded my beating heart till it completely calmed down.

Many people in the world use that cologne.

I smile warily at my own foolish heart unaware of a greater shock that would shake down me to my core was waiting for me.
