Chapter 21: Elinalise
"so, Dad going to another continent to check if a rumor is true, and he wants us to continue looking for Mom here".
Said Alex, summing it up in a few lines, crossing his arms, and raising an eyebrow at the nodding elf.
"yes, Paul said that you three were looking for her as well, and you should continue, he will send a letter to you if he needs backup".
Elinalise responded, with eyes full of lust, Which caused Alex to feel uncomfortable, and Eris to send her a death glare.
"... so nothing changes? we go on with what we ware doing".
said Rudeus, looking at his brother, waiting for a decision, since Alex turned into the leader of their little party.
"... no, we are going to head out in a week, we're going to the magic university".
Alex responded, confusing most but eventually his brother figures it out.
"you want to research the summoning magic".
he pointed out, and the other two connected the dots.
the days went by, Eris, Rudeus, and Alex were preparing for a three-month journey, and Elinaise... let's not talk about it.
"So we're ready?".
asked Alex looking back at his party and their plus one.
they all nodded and off they went, their destination was the Ranoa Kingdom.
but the marching disnt last long about three hours later he felt something very strange but familiar.
(...that's holy power...).
deciding to check it out, he informed the others that he would be back.
"be right back, go and I'll catch up, just going to check something".
as he turned to the right, going off the path and heading towards a giant cave.
walking inside, he saw something that confused him... it was an egg.
and it was brown.
picking it up, he confirmed that the holy power that was covering it dispersed, he could guess who's doing this was.
so he went back to catch up to his party, taking the egg with him.
-seven hours later, with Bob-
"so, mind telling me what the egg is about?".
asked Alex crossing his arms while looking at Bob.
"well, you can consider it a goodbye gift".
said Bob, as he stood up, the answer only confusing the blonde.
"what do you mean?".
he questioned, tilting his head and his face showing pure confusion.
"well, you know, God business, not going to take long".
the deity responded, shrugging it off.
"how long?".
to the question, bob only sighed.
" about fifty or so years, and while I'm gone that man-god can see you, so I decided to get you a creature that has fate equal to you, so it's a precaution".
Alex was very confused, why would he need a creature such as that?
"and let me guess, you used a wheel to decide what the egg would hatch".
He deadpanned, watching as Bob averted his eyes.
"hey, be thankful, it's a stormcutter, you could have gotten a grockle".
Bob argued, with a huff, before smirking and continuing.
"and it's going to hatch any minute now".
Alex's eyes went wide, knowing what exactly happens when an egg hatches from the universe.
but before he could say anything he woke up with a start and looked over at the egg, it was wobbling.
quickly making water, he surrounded it, like an explosion rang out, startling everyone.
"What happened?".
"Are we under attack?".
"Huh?".
ware the questions that came from the three, but he ignored them, getting closer to the four-winged creature, with two little horns.
crouching down he looked into the eyes of the baby dragon, a hatchling, not even a minute old, he outstretched his hand and watched as it sniffed his hand, then licked it.
"Hey, little buddy, aren't you cute?".
Said Alex scratching its little chin, enjoying as the little dragon followed his hand when he stopped.
picking him up, he went over to Eris who was still confused.
"Eris remember when you wanted a pet dragon?".
he asked, getting a confused nod, and observed as her confusion turned into excitement when he outstretched the hatchling forward.
"Cute".
was the only thing she said, before squishing it like a toy, and soon Elinalise joined in.
Rudeus went over to Alex as they both watched the two women of the team squish the poor creature to death while it hailed towards them.
"so, are you going to explain this?".
asked Rudeus with a raised eyebrow, There was a slight pity in his eyes for the little dragon.
"don't ask".

"Gewuuu".
squealed the Stormcutter, who rested on the head of Alex.
"come on, let me hold him".
Exclaimed Eris, pouting and looking at the little storm cutter with wanting eyes.
"No".
He answered automatically, struggling off her attempt to snatch the hatchling from his head.
"so what are we going to name him?".
asked the ancient elf, also trying to snatch the little dragon, but huffed when Alex dodged her attempt.
"... Ace".
He decided, nodding his head, causing Ace to squeal again.
"so, you will be researching Summoning circles, what do we do in the meantime?".
asked Rudeus, adjusting his bag straps to make it more comfortable.
"Eris will study magic since we can all cast chantless magic, there is a high chance that we will be in the same class, also, You will be helping me".
Alex responded not looking back, scratching Ace's head.
