"Hey, can you get up? Just run as fast as you can right throught that hole."
"Old man, you're not doing this..."
"Oh, yes I will. Now go! Bring this with you. That dagger will be yours and yours only."
"But, I can't live alone!"
"Just go... hurry up!!!"
"No. No no no no no.... No!"
A dream of the past woke the boy up in his wooden bed. He shook it off, and took his ragged robes to start his day. As he was about to open his door, someone knocked on the window showing the gesture of looking at the clock. He knew he was late for something.
"Ahh!?!? Shit, I woke up late for this day?"
*knocking*
"Darius, get out now or you'll be late for the ceremony of the king's visit!"
"Okay... Just gonna prepare for things I'm gonna use later granny."
"Darius, I know you really want to do this but, isn't it a bit too early? It's a horrible world outside Aurinburg."
"I have decided this weeks ago. Also I need to do this as well..."
Darius took his dagger and clenched it hard as he look at it with cold eyes. He later on grabbed his bag and took a sack to collect food for the farm where his granny took him in.
"I'll get going now granny. Go ask the kids for help if you need anything."
"Darius, take this letter and give this to the town's guild hall. My name is written there with my consent for you to be an adventurer."
Darius quickly took the letter, turned it upside down and he saw the signature.
-Signed by Valieyn Gottenbron, letter of consent from the Gottenbron Farm and Orphanage.-
"Thanks for this, also the list of food to bring back, I'll be bringing a lot after my first adventure."
She turned to her purse and took a folded piece of paper and gave it to Darius.
"I'll be back before dusk."
"Safe travels my dear."
Darius took the bag along with his dagger and went on with his journey.
He took berries and herbs on his way to the town. Slowly but in a continous phase, he managed to gather a sack of Gin herbs that is usually used for healing salve and other herbal potions.
After half an hour of walking and gathering, he reached the first hut of the town and saw a signage saying,
"Welcome to Aurinburg."
"Finally, that took longer than I've expected. That must have been a lot of herbs huh?"
As he walk past the post towers he was halted by the guards.
"Young man, what do you think you are doing? You do know that the royalty is going to have a parade here yeah? Why are you just strolling around with that filty sack and robe of yours?"
"What's wrong with that? I normally do this and if I'm not mistaken, merchants and errand boys are allowed to wear anything that fit them be. You're new to the post are you?"
"Why you, shut your trap filth~!!!"
The guard raised his battle axe as another guard came close to them and said slowly.
"Woah woah slow down newbie. You're losing your head with his words? You got a lot to learn then. Hahahahaha!!!"
The guard look at Darius and put his hand on his shoulders. With a big smile on his face, he said.
"Come on pal, get in. But remember that the royalty will be here later so don't walk along the roads or you'll be caught up with the crowd. Hooha ha ha!"
"I get you, I get you. What do you want this time old geezer"
Darius look at him dead in the eye and without a doubt the old guard took a step back and gulp in a deep breath.
"Come on Darius, you don't have to be rude and call me that. Captain Rain, Captain Rain's the name come on. Or atleast Rain yeah. Also bring me a sweet roll this time, here's the payment. Buy something for yourself as well with the extra."
Darius took the pouch and walked away from the post. While he went away, the guards at the back of Rain talked about who he was.
"Hey who was that bratty kid?"
"You don't know? He's the kid who~"
Rain came close to them and cut their conversation.
"Those talks will put your necks on the line if you won't cut it. Go back to your lines, the Carriage is coming near. Men, Halt!!!"
Every single guard took their weapon in front of them and pierced the ground.
"Hail King Wallenrein!!!"
Three carriage came close and the center is a white one with a flag of the Lion and Bow. It was the king of the lands of Alpine. Sat close to him was his adviser and the other side was his wife, Queen Ellaine.
They were a flash of brilliance and elegance as their carriage came closer to the roads. But the questions within the vicinity is, where did the princess go this time.
