Chapter 21: Intruder (2)

Outside Earth, at the end of its atmosphere, the black universe was illuminated by thousands of stars. There, the sun's rays reached lethal frequencies for any human or common living being. Even though that immensity attracted countless curious people, not much had been explored and discovered about the universe.

Suddenly, at the border of Earth's atmosphere, a humanoid figure appeared out of nothing. Covered by weird dark shadows that constantly moved over its figure, not much of it could be seen. The shadows danced all over him as if they had life on its own.

"Here am I… the failed world of my master!"A husky, commanding voice rang through the sky as the figure loomed above the Earth. It wasn't loud enough to be heard on the ground miles away, nor was it loud enough to hide the tone of surprise from an attentive ear. "Well, it does exist..."

Along this journey the figure had doubts, he thought that it could be some kind of punishment from the master. Mainly because this place was taboo for disciples! He had unwittingly overheard a conversation about this place by one of his seniors and had made the mistake of mentioning it to another disciple. In the end, the news spread and reached his master's ear. But that couldn't be helped: He knew how strong his master was and he just couldn't believe that he once failed to build a world.

[Ah! I should just shut up my mouth more often…] The figure blamed himself and soon focused on the planet below. [Let's find who did it and return back to my sect.]

With a sniff of his nose, the humanoid god felt the small quantity of Qi in the air and could help but to smile. "Some stupid god really stole the place…"

From his perspective it shouldn't be someone strong, if it was, why would he or she waste time in a failed world on the foremost corner of the universe? There was nothing really important in this galaxy, unless some reclusive figure, not many gods used to come over.

Just like worlds, galaxies also had their unique properties and qualities. Most of the good places were filled to the brim with powerful gods seeking for opportunities and Heavenly Worlds filled with them. This galaxy however, at the edge of the universe, contained mostly the failed worlds and should not have any cultivators around. That being said, the shadow figure curiously wondered why someone would steal a wasted project.

It was not unheard of gods fighting for the ownership of a world, it was quite common actually, but he had never heard of a case where a god would expose himself just to get an unranked planet. Intrigued, he spread his divine sense slowly and carefully towards the ground below, avoiding drawing the attention of this world's god..

"Oh?" He couldn't help but to exclaim lightly, in surprise by what he saw.

Tens of thousands of skyscrapers filled a gigantic city where thousands of people went about their business. Strange means of transport that he had never seen before, not because of the wheels, but which moved without using Qi. Other technologies that allowed long distance communication, lighting and basic things without the use of Qi! For a moment, he just stood there, shocked. He had thought there would be basically any civilization inside, probably a few tribes and animals as the newer god tried his hands into creating a world.

[Is this really a failed world?] His mind raced as he tried to comprehend the sight below him. [Wait…]

He inspected the people with his divine sense and realized that they had no Qi! Weaklings, only one of a hundred thousand had started to cultivate! That could only mean one thing: this place had been built even before god took the world! The civilization here existed for a long time! Did his master knew about it?

But how was that even possible? To create those things without Qi?

"Oh, hello there little one… have you found what you're looking for?" However, before he could investigate further, a strong male voice sounded behind him. Although amicable, it sent shivers down to the deepest part of his soul as he heard that voice.

He had been detected!

[Shit! I'm done!] The shadowed figure thought, scared. He was an expert in stealth, quite proud of his powers to say the least, capable of hiding even from gods more powerful than him. This time however, he had been spotted without sensing the other god. At that moment, his instincts were urging him to escape!

In that split second, the shadow god sprang into action and immediately took a communication talisman within his storage ring, trying to contact his master asap.

Unfortunately for him, he wasn't fast enough. His face paled as he saw the green talisman dimming in his hands, the void around him was completely blocked! He hadn't even noticed how his opponent did it!

"I'm sorry, but I don't want any more guests…" Mocked the other god, laughing quietly for himself.

[Damn it!] The shadow figure clenched his teeth, hopeless. With the void completely sealed, the only way to get out of here was fighting!

With no other option in hand, he decided he should at least see who he was up against, so he turned to face the inevitable. What he saw was a beautiful middle aged red haired man, he had imposing posture around him, emanating power and royalty. His eyes were sharp and had a golden mysterious tone. Furthermore, he wore a white robe that fit his body perfectly, with a mystical black star emblazoned in the center.

He trembled when he saw that robe, when he saw that star!

"T- The Celestial Star Sect!" He exclaimed, fear was palpable in his voice. He felt like a bucket of cold water had been thrown on his face. Now he knew there was no way out, there has never been.

"Hmm" The red haired man nodded as if it was nothing, a small smile on his red lips. "I thought not many people would recognize us after such a long time…"

What was the Heavenly Star Sect? More than a simple entity, it was shrouded in mystery and many thought it was just a legend in the universe. Unfortunately, that was not true and there was a saying that could explain what kind of existence the Sect was:

Time flows, the Void breaks, but the Celestial Star Sect is eternal!

No one could say for certain how long the sect actually existed, but its own disciples. Some claimed that it was even older than the universe itself, or at least the older sect in the universe. People didn't know its origins, nor how many disciples the sect had. In fact all they knew was that they were reclusive and tended not to meddle in the gods affairs. Not many had met the sect before, but its symbol was widely spread: A black mystical star in a white robe.

And now, right before his very eyes, one of such mythical figures stood still.

Seeing that the shadow figure was paralyzed with fear, Leo shook his head lightly and spoke again.

"May I know who you are?" It wasn't quite a question, because at the same time he asked it, Leo waved his hand and a strong wind blew, easily dispelling the shadows that covered the mysterious figure.

As the black shadows that covered his body dissipated, its body was revealed. He was no normal human! The 'man' was two meters tall, had small black eyes, two small black horns on top of his head and three big mustaches that resembled a catfish.

"Oh, a Heavenly Shadow Fish…. interesting." With a glimpse Leo was able to identify his opponent's origin. Leo pondered out loud for himself. "A quite nice bloodline, though not a very rare one."

The catfish man bowed respectfully, deciding not trying to fight nor run. He had just closely inspected the void around him and noticed that the seal even contained the Dao of Time!

"I'm called Hei Niyanyu… I beg your pardon if I interfered with anything from the Celestial Star Sect." Immediately afterwards he bowed deeply, trying to not get killed in this mess his master had sent him.

Leo nodded lightly, as if the mad did the correct thing. He understood pretty well the reputation its sect had on the universe.

"Actually, you arrived just in time. As you can see, my master has just taken over this world and is intensifying the Qi around it..." Leo smiled gently, as if explaining things to a novice. "For now, I am responsible for introducing cultivation to this place and I need a helping hand, what do you say?"

[M - Master!] If things were not bad enough, this man had a master here! Two Celestial Star Sect disciples at one place, what a nightmare! How strong could this man's master be!? Niyanyu bowed his head once more and nodded, he knew that the other option would be death. Even though he was loyal to his master, it made no sense to die because of a stupid decision like that.

"Will I be able to leave one day?" He asked weakly.

"Maybe?" Leo shrugged. In fact, he did not care. "It is all up to you."

"Okay then…" Niyanyu nodded slowly. "What should I do?"

Smiling at his approval, Leo waved his hand in a grabbing motion. The atmosphere trembled and the stars seemed to fickle. Suddenly, Niyanyu spatted a mouthful of blood.

"I've shattered your cultivation base up to the Nascent Soul…" At the same time Leo raised his hand, showing Niyanyu's spatial ring. "I'll take care of your belongings for a while…"

Hei Niyanyu cleaned the blood on his mouth and cursed inwardly. To destroy a person's cultivation base to where one wanted exactly… that required fine control. Now, he wasn't even sure if his master would be able to save him if he was here.

"Now, do as you seem fit for a villain in this world." Leo continued as if he did nothing. "I want you to act in the shadows to make things a bit more interesting… but remember, do go overboard! I don't want any mass murders in this place, we're here to raise its potential, to show the importance of cultivation!"

"I'll do as you say…" Niyanyu had nothing more to say.

"You may leave once you achieve godhood again, now go!" Leo said these last words and then ignored the big catfish man and vanished into thin air, lifting the seal around the void as well.

The man could only sigh, he didn't dare to express his thoughts. In the end he had lost thousands of years of cultivation in seconds…That was the harshness of the cultivation, he could only blame his weakness. A thing he would make sure to introduce to this world.

Shaking his head, Niyanyu looked to the world down below with his small black eyes.

"Well, let me see why they are so interested in this world after all…"
