Chapter 7: Dark Forest
Jeon Min Tae's POV:
"Okay. Looks like we are going to have some adventure" Said Mary.
The guard showed us the way. We started walking through the forest. It was 8pm but felt like 10, because of weather and the dark forest. Forest which was looking beautiful at first started looking scary too. Suddenly it started raining I checked my bag for umbrella and remembered I gave it to Sashi cause my bag was full of stuffs.
"Sashi open the umbrella I think there is going to be heavy rain" I said and Sashi ignored me while whistling.
"Sashiiii" I nearly shouted this time.
"Babe there is a problem" said Sashi looking like a child who just get caught red handed eating an extra candy.
"Pray tell" I replied and everyone turned to Sashi.
"That umbrella is in my bag and I left my bag in the car" said Sashi looking everywhere but me.
"You don't say" I said giving her death glare.
"Okay then keep going. It's just 5km we will reach highway soon" said Mary calming everyone.
"Okay let's get it" I said before walking again.
We walked for too long but wasn't reaching anywhere. It's like highway has refused to come.
Sashi screamed and we turned immediately.
"What happened?" asked Karii.
"Ghost ghost ghost" said Sashi in a voice which can wake whole forest.
"Whatttt??? Where???" I asked while hiding behind Mary.
"There!!! There!!!" Screamed Sashi again.
"It's not a ghost it's just shadow of that tree" said Mary pointing at a giant tree while holding me and Sashi behind her.
"OK let's go" said Kari. We started walking again. After sometime another scream.
"What now?" I asked.
"It was lightening!!!" replied Sashi.
"I can very well see that, Stop screaming and keep moving" I said in an annoyed tone.
"I heard there are wild animals in these forests, recently few cases happened" Said Kari.
"You don't say" said Sashi.
"You don't get to speak. We are in this situation all thanks to you" I said while pointing an accusing finger at Sashi.
"It's not my fault that jerk of a driver left us" said Sashi in her defence.
"I should've known when u said 'Leave everything to me' means 'Dig your own grave'." I said in regretful voice.
"Both of you stop fighting. Remember We are together bulletproof" Said Mary. We both smiled at her. I started to think how can she be so calm in the situation like this but then I heard.
"Are we together animal proof too?" Asked Kari.
"Shut up!!!!" Me, Mary and Sashi said in unison.
"Hey I think there is a house over there" Said Mary pointing towards a small house.
"More like a Hut" Said Kari.
"Worse than that" I added.
"Do You think they will let four innocent beautiful girls stay for a night?" Said Sashi in dramatic tone.
"Where will you go then?" I said laughing and got hit on my hand from Sashi.
"Stop you both" said Mary while holding her laughter.
We reached that place but nobody was there. It was completely destroyed, walls looked old having cracks everywhere and roof looks that it is about to fall.
"Hello, anybody here" Said Mary slightly raising her voice. No answer.
"I don't think anyone lives here. I mean look at this place it doesn't look habitual" I said while pointing at that place.
"I think so too." replied Mary.
"Let's stay here for the night, we'll leave tomorrow" said Kari.
"Will it be safe here?" I asked.
"I don't think so. But Kari is right we can't travel at night It's too dark. Right now it's the safest place"
replied Mary.
So it's decided we are staying here tonight. I looked around place was quite old and dirty but I was exhausted to complaint anything. I lied down in between Mary and Sashi and slept right away.
Next Morning...
I heard someone screaming I woke up immediately noticing Sashi and Mary also waking up at the same time. Kari was not there We rushed outside immediately. There is something weird about this place I thought.
I mean we are at the same place as last night but at the same there is something different about it.. Something is not right.. Something has changed. The house, the forest, the wind all of it.. I can feel it.. And I know they all can too. But what was it. I got distracted from my thoughts when I heard "Where are we?" Said Kari in a frightened voice.
"Uh weird house in the middle of the forest" said Sashi in sleepy voice without even opening her eyes completely.
"I don't think so this house looks nothing like last night, I mean it looks pretty decent" said Mary all confused.
"Maybe because of dark" said Sashi yawning still half asleep.
"Care to explain where all the cracks have gone?" I asked, feeling a bit worried.
"Where in the Hell all the cracks gone and why rooftop is intact like its brand new" Sashi screamed.
"The forest looks different too, there is something strange, it's not normal." said Mary in concerned tone.
"Maybe we are in a parallel universe" Kari suggested.
"Stop watching too much K-dramas" replied Mary.
"Where are we???" I asked feeling completely clueless.
