Chapter 1: A New Beginning

"Fuck!"

She gasped awake, breathing heavily, tremors still racking her entire frame. Her watery eyes looked around the girly room, confusing her even more. Everywhere she looked, there appeared to have been a pink explosion. She could be girly but not THAT girly.

Once her breathing had evened out, she finally felt what was wrong — she was no longer in her body.

As if her brain had been waiting for her to calm down, it immediately assaulted her with memories that weren't hers, making her clutch her head in pain.

In her last life, she was named Lauren Moonstone and she'd been the most promising young witch of her coven. She was destined for a great life and it eventually led to her downfall.

Her own mother, the leader of the coven, was power crazy and wanted to siphon Lauren's magic. Mother Moonstone forgot the fact that her daughter was a very petty person — if someone wanted her powers, she would rob them of their own first.

It was the greatest spell that Lauren had accomplished. But as with every spell, magic has its consequences.

Hers was death.

'At least Mother died with me,' Lauren thought with slight glee. Her mother wasn't really dead, but since Lauren had stripped her of her power forever; it was a fate worse than death.

Looking at her surroundings, Lauren assumed that the spirits felt bad for her — they thought she'd died a regretful death and decided to grant her another chance at life.

But ... was it necessary for her to be reborn as a brat?!

Lauren Mallory, who she was now, was a very beautiful girl with long, white blonde hair and pale green eyes. Standing at five feet six with a slim figure, she resembled a fairy.

The problem was her attitude; her core was rotten. The previous owner of the body was a spoiled princess, but an intelligent one. She only acted that way with her family. To the rest of the world, she presented herself as a popular gentle girl.

"Lauren Mallory," she mumbled to herself, "Not too bad." Cunning people were her favorite kind.

Lauren stood up from the bed, staggering a little before she beelined straight for the computer on the desk nearing the window. She'd wanted to try it after she'd woken up. She had to.

Once in front of the computer, she gently traced a finger across the screen, the static energy following her hand. She finally breathed a sigh of relief. See, in Lauren's past life, she was an elemental witch — electricity in all forms was her gift and she would have felt utterly empty if she'd reincarnated without it.

Having her magic back instilled a confidence in her movements that wasn't there before, with her touching her temple with a low voltage electricity; the "hum" protecting her mind. She didn't know what this world entailed, if the supernatural existed here as well, therefore ... better safe than sorry.

Satisfied, Lauren took a step back and sat back down on the bed again. She shifted through the previous host's life memories and assessed the situation.

Right now, she was fifteen years old and had just started her Freshman Year of high school the day before. She didn't yet have friends but she was familiar with a few people who'd grew up in the same town.

Forks — a small town in the Olympic Peninsula of northwest Washington state, that existed under a near-constant cover of clouds. The town was gloomy but the inhabitants were warm, albeit a bit too gossipy but that was expected of small towns.

Lauren had nothing to complain about her new life ... she had well-off parents who left her alone most of the time. She was beautiful, intelligent and talented. No one had had time to discover the evil mask of this little queen bee, which was a major bonus point. It meant she had a blank canvas to work on — she could slowly but surely mold this life with her own. She wasn't that different to the previous host of the body anyways.

While she meticulously examined her memories, someone — or rather several someones — caught her attention.

The Cullens. Five inhumanly beautiful kids; two Freshmen like her, and three Sophomore.

It should've stopped there. At least it did in the previous host's memories but Lauren prided herself in having a great eye for people. The Cullens had pale skin, otherwordly beauty as well as gorgeous topaz eyes.

Vampires, her mind was saying. Not the same vampires that existed in her world, no, these ones were far more ancient, according to her Coven Head. The Cold Ones, as he called them, were supposed to be real only in books. It looked like they were real, all right, simply in another world.

Even though Lauren found them intriguing, she wouldn't do anything about it. She knew what it was like to be the freak of the town, there only to be dissected under ignorant fools' scalpels. She wasn't kind but she wasn't cruel either; she'd leave them the space they so clearly asked for.

For now, she had bigger fish to fry. Like how the hell was she supposed to use this outdated technology?

CREATORS' THOUGHTS

Hello hello, sparkly readers,

This is my take on what it would look like if a witch (with a temper) from another world reincarnated into Twilight! My OC comes from another fantastic world so she doesn’t know twilight is a book :)

This is a reverse harem (I’m adding another warning in here since why not) so my OC won’t need to choose between her three kings — after all, why choose, right?

Also, vampires with fangs ... enough said.
