Chapter 81: Good News, Help to Repel, Cocky and Invasion.

(Oemitsu POV)

I am on top of the tallest building in Lebus. 'Lebus is a beautiful city, with quite a busy marketplace, and weird temples worshipping a witch. I know that the witch is a Demon that I need to kill, however, I am waiting for the perfect opportunity. After all, I can get not only the witch, but also Liza if I play my cards right. Talking about Liza, she is still pissed at me. Every time I see her, I get more, and more interested in her.

She executed more than 6,000 pirates in cold blood. She takes no prisioners, and kills anyone she deems as an enemy. I love that part of her. A pity that her nightmares are becoming more frequent. Soon enough she will go after the witch, but she needs a little bit more to trigger her curse, and I know how to trigger it perfectly.' While I wondered, I saw an eagle coming in my direction.

I smiled, and extended my arm to the side, and the eagle landed on my arm. After that, I picked up a small paper that was attached to the legs of the eagle, and read it. "So they managed to get the Princess? Good." I scratched the eagle's head. 'Why do most beings like to be petted? Anyways. I cannot let the Muozinellians do as they wish. I need to pretend like I cares about Brune, or else I will lose prestige, and influence. If all of the remaining nobility join Tigre's side, then he might have an army that can stand against me. I will not take such chances. Oh, I know what I should do... I will send that woman. She is always looking for a fight.' I smiled before I picked up a pen, and wrote something.

After that, I attached a letter on the eagle, and send it away.

(Karin POV)

"So... that brat wants me to go south, and help the Earl of Alsace repelling the Muozinel army." I commented.

"How many soldiers should we take?" My aid asked.

"5,000 are more than enough." I told him.

"But 5,000 is not enough." He complained.

"Hahahaha. 5,000 men are more than enough. Most of the Muozinel soldiers are infantry. If you get a good cavalry force, you can break through them quite easily." I explained.

"As expected of our General! Karin-sama is the best General in our nation!" He exclaimed.

"That is obvious. Now, go get the soldiers ready to depart." I ordered him, and he hurriedly left. 'This will not be as easy as I said. The one leading their armies is the one known as Barbados. Probably the most cunning General in the continent. Even Oemitsu had to pay concessions to form an alliance with him. This will be an interesting war.'

(3rd person POV)

Karin's elite army marched through the mountains of the south of Brune, running through the mountains quite easily. Karin oftenly boasts that her elites are the strongest in the entire continent, of course, this boast is not without support. Her army participated in every single war that Oemitsu fought, they are almost as well trained as Oemitsu's Winged Hussars. While Tigre was busy fighting the Muozinel army, Karin went around the entire mountain, killing any enemy scouts she saw.

She only had one objective in the mind. Hitting them while they are running from Tigre. Tigre employed a strategy that would only work if he managed to kill Barbados, however, the Muozinel General is not dumb. He retreated his main unit, and made the rest of his unit surround Tigre's army. But he failed to see something. Karin's army was right behind him.

Karin dashed out of the hill she was hidding, with her army following right after her. Barbados immediately retrieved his units that were sieging the fortified hill, and forcefully marched them to defend his main unit. 3 units were deployed numbering around 15,000 men, however, they couldn't get into formation, so the army led by Karin just broke through them. In the front there is Tigre, and the Vanadis, Ludmila Lourie, and behind there is Karin's army.

Without any other choice, Barbados changed his formation. Normally changing the formation in the middle of the battle is impossible, however, Barbados had a huge numeric advantage, so he managed to use his reserves to fill any gaps his army created. In the end, he created a defensive formation with most of his men focused on the Vanadis in the hopes of killing her. But, in the end the entire battlefield reached a stalemate.

While the Muozinel were suffering huge amounts of casualties, they never broke their formation, and Karin's army never managed to break them, they just kept throwing more, and more men at her. Karin herself charged into battle in the hopes of breaking through their defense, however, she was unable. The day quickly ended, and the Muozinel were clearly the ones who lost more men.

More than 10,000 of their soldiers died, but Karin didn't win thanks to that. She had to retreat when the sun set.

(Tigrevurmud Vorn POV)

'I am currently in my tent, feeling extremely sleepy, however, before I can fall asleep, I need to thank everyone that helped me win this battle. 'I managed to defeat the Muozinel thanks to the help I got from the Knights of Brune. I also got reinforcements from the King of the mountain. I need to meet the General named Karin, after all, she helped me repel the Muozinel invasion. If she didn't help me, then I would have lost even more men. I know that she didn't do it for free, however, I still need to meet her.

Not only to thank her but to also know her objectives. According to Ludmila, there is no way that Oemitsu did this for free.' Soon enough, a woman entered the tent, and the first impresson I had was... 'She is huge.'

She was probably the tallest woman I ever met. One of the soldiers gasped as soon as he saw her. "Tall." He immediately whispered after he saw her.

However, before he could even react, he was getting kicked in the head, but before that kick reached his head, Ludmila stopped it with her Dragonic Tool, Lavias. "What is the meaning of this?" She asked.

"Isn't it obvious? Your soldier disrespected me. He deserves death." The tall woman immediately answered.

Ludmila pushed her back, but Karin didn't take a step back. "Please, don't fight! I apologise for the lack of discipline of my soldier!" I intervened.

"That is not enough. His head must fly." She said.

"Your head will fly if you don't back off." Ludmila warned her.

"Do it. I am sure that your King will love if he finds out that you started a war with another nation for a soldier." Karin smiled.

Ludmila pointed her weapon at Karin's neck. "It is my duty, as the Vanadis of Olmutz to defend both civilians, and soldiers. I will avoid war as much as possible. However, don't think that I am afraid of war."

"Hahahahaha. I would love to destroy you in a battle, but I have strict orders from my King. He said on his letter that I must not start a conflict with any of you." She shooked her head.

"You are here because your King ordered?" I asked.

"Why else would I be here? I certainly didn't came here to see your annoying face." She said.

"Why? Why does your King want you here?" I inquired.

"Why should I tell you? My King decided to help you without asking anything in return. Be happy with that." She crossed her arms.

"Without asking anything in return? There is no such thing as a free lunch in this world. What is your King truly after?" Ludmila asked.

"You don't have the moral to talk, little Vanadis." She mocked Ludmila.

"I wonder what you are talking about, Giant General?" Ludmila purposely emphasised the giant part.

This pissed Karin even more. I could see veins popping in her forehead.

"You are not going to tell me, with a straight face, that you sent thousands of soldiers to their deaths for free. We all know that you will demand something ridiculous from Tigre." Ludmila said.

"It is better than pretending that I am doing this for free." Karin said.

Suddenly, a messenger interrupted both of us. "I have a message from his Majesty, Kureys Shahim Balamir!"

"So it is here." Karin commented.

I was rather surprised. I expected them to retreat, not to send a messenger.

"Kureys is an annoying opponent. He never fights a battle that he can't win. He also likes to flatter an opponent that he finds worthy." Karin said.

And soon enough, another messenger came in, and started to sing stories about my braveness. I could feel my exhaustion picking up.

(Oemitsu POV)

'I am currently in the war room with Liza, and her Generals. My plans took a drastic turn. Earl Kazakov decided that it was a good idea to take Liza's head. Apparently, he is claiming that Liza is a traitor that swore fidelity to a foreign King, so he used me as an excuse to get rid of the Vanadis.' I thought.

"How many soldiers does he have?" Liza asked.

"According to our scouts; 10,000 men." Naum answered.

"How is that possible? The lands of Earl Kazakov are barren. While they have a lot of population, they are not very rich. At least not rich enough to raise 10,000 soldiers." Her other General, Lazarl, said.

"There is also the cost of armors, weapons, and supplies. It is impossible for him to pay for an army that size." Naum explained.

"Then it means he has got foreign aid. Either from another noble, or from another country." Liza said.

All of her Generals, together with her, looked at me.

"Why are you all looking at me for?" I looked at them, clearly confused. "Fufufufu. It wasn't me. After all, being an ally with Liza is much more beneficial than having her die." I shrugged.

Liza nodded. "The chance of Oemitsu doing it is low. After all, if I die, and lose my lands, then he will lose a possible ally in the north of Sasha's lands. I told you before, and I will tell you again don't call me Liza, Oemitsu." She snarled.

"Still mad about that? Just let it go. I only took a sneak peek. Besides, that wasn't even my fault. You were the one who suddenly got up, and ended up showing me yo-." I stopped mid sentence because she glared at me.

In her eyes, I saw that she was daring me to continue talking. "Fufufufufu." I smiled.

After that, she proceeded to ignored me. After all, she couldn't lose face in her own war meeting.

(It was you who gave Earl Kazakov the weapons right?) Nyar asked me.

'Yup. It was me.'

(Hahahahahahaha. The way you denied it looked so real that I almost believed you. But you can't trick your Onee-chan.)

'It is part of my plan. For you to deceive your enemy, first you must deceive your allies. I call it, the feed the pigs strategy. To put it simple, I give money to nobles that are under the Vanadis, and in exchange they will refuse the call to arms from the Vanadis. They can either refuse, or slow down on their march.

Most of the Vanadis armies are made up of nobles private armies, and the nobles are greedy pigs that only work for themselves.' I told her.

(That is why you got rid of them in your conquered territories.)

'Nah. I got rid of them for fun. To be honest, watching fat pigs burn is quite fun.'

(I can't wait to get a physical body.)

'Not going to ask why. After all, I already know why.'

"We need to meet them in open field. We cannot put the people of Lebus under a harsh siege." Liza said.

"But, my lady we only have 6,000 men in Lebus. If we don't group up with other nobles, then we will face him at an disadvantage odds." Naum reasoned.

"Shouldn't we request reinforcements from the capital? Surely, the King isn't going to allow such a thing to happen." Liza's other General said.

"It will be hard. Lady Sasha is bedridden, so her army will not move to help us. Lady Eleonora, and Ludmila are both in Brune, so the closest army to us that can help us, is at least 5 days in distance." Naum told her.

"No one will back you up." I said.

"What do you know, Outsider? You are lucky our Vanadis let you enter this room." Her General squinted.

"Fufufufu. Your King is afraid of me. He is hoping that Kazakov can kill me. If he ends up killing Liza while doing it, then it is a small price that he is willing to pay. Either way he will not lose anything." I told them.

"Our King is not afraid of you, Outsider!"

I ignored him, and turned to Liza. "Liza, if you need my help, you just have to say please help me."

*Bam*.

Liza slammed her hand on the table. "We have fought disadvantageous battles multiple times, but we always came up on top. We will crush Kazakov's rebellion! I don't need your help Oemitsu, stay out of this war." She looked at me.

"Fufufufu. What an entertaining woman." I placed my hand on my chin.

"We set out." Liza said after ignoring me.

(You have been rejected. But, don't worry, your Onee-chan will comfort you very slowly.) Nyar whispered.

'Everything is according to the plan. If she accepted it, then she would have been a boring woman. Now, let's watch the show.'
