Chapter 35: The Threat
Lim Do Yun was raised to be the heir of the Lim family.
Lim Do Yun was expected to be the pride of the Lim family.
Lim Do Yun is responsible for bringing the Lim family to the next level.
The Lim family had money, but they were still in the last layer of the wealthy family.
The Lim family has power but is not as powerful as the great eight families.
Even though everyone called the powerful cluster a great eight families, there were only six standing families. The foolishness ruined two great families.
The Lim family flourished only after establishing their ties through marriage with one of the great eight families - The Sun.
Lim Do Yun's stepmother was the cousin of the current Sun family's master.
Even then, none of them could get closer to the Sun family to strengthen their relationship on a personal level since the marriage. They still rode the tide using the Sun family's name and reputation. After all, the Sun family have hands both in legal and illegal business.
The Lim family could never compare themself with the Wangs.
The Wangs held undefeatable power and innumerable wealth. Their mere mention sends trembling fear down the elite society as they never engage in illegal business.
No matter how clean any elite families were, they at least engaged in some dirty business behind to protect themself. But the Wang were different and refused to engage in such measures.
Everyone thought the clean conduct of the Wang family showed their power and smartness. But Lim Do Yun always thought they were behaving morally superior and idiotic.
Even though the Lim family could never ever compare themself with the Wangs at the moment, Lim Do Yun wanted to raise his family as powerful as or more powerful than the Wang family.
Once, he mentioned it to his father and grandfather during their casual conversation. He was reprimanded severely.

Since his childhood, he was trained to act like the heir.
He was taught intricate business details and negotiations to bring victory to their family business.
There were many aspects his grandfather and father taught him to be a business heir. He met their standards when it came to the work. But he has failed to meet his grandfather and father's expectation to be the heir in his conduct.
So he was determined to prove his worth through the crisis of CraZe entertainment. Even though his cousin was the president and in charge of rectifying the issue, he wanted to be part of getting CraZe back.
The first successful and more stable business of the Lim family was CraZe entertainment. Even though their other ventures were successful, they were not as steady as CraZe in bringing in money and fame for over a decade. Because of this, their family attached great sentimental value to the CraZe entertainment.
But the family put more effort into other businesses than the flourishing CraZe. They only assigned trusted people to manage the company and were little involved with CraZe. So the disaster of losing shares without knowledge happened.
Thankfully his cousin identified it at the right time.
But the family was shocked when they discovered they were no longer the sole major shareholder.
Even though he was not managing CraZe, as the family heir Lim Do Yun felt it was his personal failure.
Lim Do Yun was not satisfied with the way SMJ handled their merger. They stood on the high horse and gave him orders. Their boss did not even come to the meeting personally. But he chose to stay quiet for the sake of the family business and the resource CraZe would get from SMJ.
He was elated when he saw one of the resources would be Choi Haneul.
Lim Do Yun was happy to see his little brother and felt proud of the achievement the other made as choreographer Han. His little brother even became one of the treasured employees of SMJ.
He knew with his brother's skill at dance and music, his company would reach the top again. He wanted Choi Haneul to stay with SMJ till they get the necessary resource. Once they were in the top and safe zone, he wanted Haneul to resign from SMJ and work for CraZe under him.
Lim Do Yun came to the company to discuss his plans with Choi Haneul.
He knew Haneul was with the human resource department as he completed some document signing processes. So he thought of going over his plan with his cousin, Lim Tae-Ri and their vice president.
Even though Haneul was not technically an employee of CraZe but of SMJ, he still needed his id card to get access to the company. Also, his basic details need to be added to their system.
Lim Do Yun did not expect Choi Haneul to barge into the president's office like he owned the place.
The thought brought down the bitter realisation to Lim Do Yun.
Technically, Choi Haneul did have the right over the place as an owner.
Their mother was the one who found the company and raised it to a greater extent. But after her divorce, the company was taken away from her, and Haneul lost his place in the family and the right to have the family name - Lim.
Still, no one could change that Choi Haneul has the same right over the company as Lim Do Yun.
As he observed Choi Haneul, he felt the threat to his position as the Lim family heir for the first time.
Choi Haneul walked inside the room nonchalantly but commanded authority with each stride.
The laid-back walk and the hardened eyes pushed everyone to the edge.
Something in Lim Do Yun's heart trembled as he realised Choi Haneul behaved more like a CEO rather than him.
Lim Do Yun felt the threat for the first time in his life.
The chance of him not becoming the heir of the Lim family grew higher with each stride Choi Haneul took inside.
