Chapter 36: Naruto

Surrounded in a forest green, a small figure sat cross legged beneath a tree, taking comfort in the shade to ease his feeling of exhaustion.

Lei took calm breaths, his stomach inflating and deflating with a calm rhythm. A whirlwind of chakra seemed to spin with each inhale and exhale yet Lei remained focused.

After a few more minutes of silence, this focus was broken

Lei pat his pants and got up. His chakra reserves after that little meditation was at a comfortable level now.

Lei's reserve was monstrous, maybe not comparable to the nine-tails but it wouldn't be far-fetched to say that it was at-least half.

Because of this, Lei hadn't really need to worry about his chakra that much. But not this time. Perhaps he should of expected this but the chakra usage of travelling to a Hiraishin marking a universe away was extremely taxing. He had only managed to get here after eating away over ninety percent of his chakra.

Furthermore, he couldn't quite tell which marking is which from a universe away which led him to his current location.

At a first glance, it would seem that Lei was in a safe place with the abundant of trees and animals around him but that wasn't so.

The marking he had teleported to was one of the few he had set up around Konoha, which meant that he was most-likely near the border of the Land of Fire; A place where many shinobi's are constantly patrolling.

"Where should I head to now..." Obviously he should get moving lest he get involved the middle of something but... he didn't even know where he was. He also didn't want to use his Hiraishin right now due to his chakra. He'd be fine in an hour or so but he didn't really have the patience to sit still for too long.

So with closed eyes, Lei focused on his chakra and sent it out around him. Images flashed through his head as the chakra spread, at first it was just constant images of trees but after a while of searching he found an image of a small village.

"Off I go!" Lei jumped and started traveling through the trees, heading towards the direction of the village.

...

Once Lei made it to the village, he noticed some heads turn and look at him weirdly which reminded that his clothes wasn't exactly something common.

After changing his clothes to something more appropriate, Lei's stomach grumbled. He looked around, embarrassed and went looking for some food.

Although the village was small, it was bustling with activity with many people coming in and out from the gate. It seemed like the village was a trading checkpoint or something.

Lei stumbled into small cafe after a little bit walking. Since it was still morning, they were serving breakfast which brought a nice smell to the cafe.

"Umm... are you a ninja by any chance?" The young lady working in the counter looked at him and asked.

Lei tapped his Konoha band hidden around his neck and smiled"Yup, I'm a Jounin from Konoha"

The lady was surprised at Lei's rank but didn't push on to whether it true or not. She was just worried it was from another village.

His clothes was minimalist but the design was often used by shinobi's, which was probably what brought the question. That and his ninja weapons and pouch.

The lady didn't bother Lei after that and took his order.

Lei just went with whatever he was feeling and bought fried eggs along with a cup of coffee and sat near the window, watching passerby's do their business.

"This place isn't bad..." Lei sank into the chair and yawned.

However, just as Lei was closing his eyes, the people outside started to increase. Lei felt his curiosity rise. But before he could act, he felt an immense amount of chakra outside.

Lei left his table and food unfinished. He body flickered outside and stood on the roof, that chakra he had just felt... definitely came from someone strong. Lei wasn't much of a sensor but although crude, he can turn his chakra into a wave which made for a good fast and ranged sensor. Lei didn't bother processing all information and instead focused on the largest source of chakra.

There were a few, but there was two in particular that outclassed the others. Lei didn't find it well when he sensed one of the two familiar. This was because of the unnatural spike and explosive increase. It's once sunshine like chakra turned red and boiled with power, this was no doubt;

Naruto going into his jinchuuriki form.
