Chapter 11: Mission Accomplished

Due to the admin's unforeseen transmigration, the DGC has decided to give a mission before other members may be invited.
- Save Steve Montgomery from being killed by Andrew ✔

'Finally, the mission is complete.'
It's been two weeks, give or take, since Richard died. In that time I was able to complete all the missions. Well, stopping Andrew from using his powers for evil was completed when we were at the hospital. It seems all he needed was a little love and some help. What's that saying, all it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man to lunacy.
So, once the Andrew mission was completed, the Steve mission completed itself as well. At that point, I had the option to turn in the mission, but I decided to try to complete the two optional ones. Helping Aunt Karen was par for the course once my mom found out she had cancer.
Turns out my mom was friends with one of the best oncologists in the western United States, James Wilson. I'm just kidding. His name was Gerard West or something. Anyways, he told us that Aunt Karen's cancer was very much treatable and that if she didn't get any treatment she would have passed, like in the movie.
In regards to the meteor, I was able to go to the clearing where we found it before the cops got to it. Thankfully I had been doing my telekinesis training so I was able to dig it out by moving decent-sized piles of dirt. I wasn't able to pull it out of the ground just yet, but soon I will be able to. I can feel it.
Anyways, before I started the excavation I remembered a scene from the movie where Andrew moves the camera to the sky and it shows a crop circle. So I used my phone to do the same and was able to capture what looked like a spiral crop circle. After that, I began to excavate until I reached the thing. And boy was it crazy looking.
~Flashback~
"Whew. Using my telekinesis like this is not easy. I'll increase my training after this, I'll train twice a day from now on. Anyways, it looks like I'm almost at the thing. Oh, there we go. Holy shit."
In front of me no longer stood a crystalline structure but a web of flesh-like tendrils all around the cave. At its center, a cocoon.
"Holy shit. This place looks like that one movie, what was it called? Ugh, come on. Ah, War of the Worlds. Except these look like flesh, not vines."
I started to move closer to the cocoon while making sure there were no surprises. The sound of my feet stepping on flesh was not pleasant. It almost made me hurl.
"I guess Andrew was right. The thing was alien, but who would've guessed it was alive. And now it looks like it's gestating. I've seen too many movies where they wait until it hatches. I'm not taking any chances."
With that said, I tried to use my telekinesis to see if I could crush it. But I couldn't.
"Shit! It gave me my powers, of course they wouldn't work on it. Or at least, I'm not strong enough to overpower its defenses. I need to hit it with rocks."
I grabbed all the rocks I could with my telekinesis and launched them as fast as I could at the cocoon.
"Damn, it's working but not well enough. I need to puncture it somehow. Too bad I didn't bring any pens. Okay, time to try on the fly."
I moved two rocks in front of me, but before launching them I applied pressure to them. I wanted to compress the rocks in the shape of a spike. I didn't quite yet have the control to instantly make it a spike but I could force it.
"Okay, now let's make these puppies spin."
Adding rotation was something I had been working on ever since I thought about it with the pens. Thankfully, I was able to get it down soon after. Once the spikes were rotating at high speeds, I let it rip.
SHICK
RUMBLE RUMBLE
The alien looked like it was writhing in agony. Afraid it was going to cause another cave-in before I could finish, I sent four spikes at it this time.
SHICK x4
Before I could close my eyes, the same red light flashed out again, knocking me unconscious.

"Ugh, what the hell?" I groaned while sitting up. "That feels familiar."
I opened my eyes to see if I was dead again and saw only the darkness of the cave. Abruptly getting up on my feet, I readied myself to fight the alien. I scanned the cave and saw nothing but what looked to be ashes on the ground.
Bending down to touch them, a screen popped out in front of me.
[Congratulations admin on completing the mission, would admin like to accept the rewards?]
'Nice! I need to cover up the hole I made and then when I get home I'll accept the rewards.'

Now sitting on my bed, I navigated to the mission tabs to accept my rewards.

So the mystery item is revealed! This is where I expect some people to drop the novel, and to those people I say, thank you for your support. To those that stick around, I thank you and I hope you like what comes next.
Now, for the world merge. It's not going to be a world merge of anything that is not slice of life or sitcom. No dxd, supernatural, vampire diaries, or anything of the sort. I realized that Chronicle is too small of a world for me but I wanted to use it as a template because I like it so much. Always thought it deserved a sequel.
Of course, this is a chat group so that means world-hopping missions but I also don't want to forget about the main world. So therein lies the world merge. It'll help me expand the world in a way that I like. Also, the background creation can be used here.
