"Emmy? Did I miss something here? Please tell me," Mason asked while he kept pressuring me to tell the truth.

Obviously, I didn't want to tell him the truth. That was just a self sabotage. No matter how 'trusty' Mason was, he still had too many people watching his movement almost 24/7. One slip from his mouth, and I would die.

I had an idea in my head, but it would be so embarrassing, it would ruin my image in front of him, but this was the only thing I could think of to save my ass.

I took a deep breath before giving him the reply that I thought would get me out of this mud, "It's just… my play pretend, Mason."

"Pretend?" Mason sounded surprised. "What do you mean play pretend, Em? I don't understand…."
