Chapter 2: Difference

Xenia was always a rebellious child she never believed in the "women are born to serve men role" upon being rebellious she was quite a bit different as well in a family of women born with sun kissed skin, long blonde straight hair, ocean blue eyes with a hint of gold in the center , clear skin , thin lips , long slender upturned noses And tall slender figures. Xenia was 5'6 she had pale skin ,Rosie cheeks with freckles that lay across them ,her eyes were big and brown with gold and green swirls in then ,she had springy curls that were wild and long her hair reach the bottom of her lower back ,her hair was brown and glistened red when the sun hit , her nose was slightly pinched and her lips were full and perfectly pink matching the color of her cheeks she had a curvy figure that was also tiny. Xenia was always finding herself in trouble , never making the right choices with her family her sister were all About perfect posture and pleasing men at first glance after all a noble husband wanted an obedient wife one was says nothing unless spoken too and let's her husband make all the decisions for her and her life for the rest of her life. The thought of marriage made Xenia sick, so sick in fact when 5 of the 7 sister got married at the early age of 16 Xenia found her self holding her tummy running out of the chapel covering her mouth and breathing heavily. Xenia was the youngest of the 7 and her sister Mary Anne was the next to get sold off like cattle . Mary Ann was 18 and to her mother that was a year too old to be getting married but " better late than never " her mother said . Xenia's mother Sonya always reminded her that with her "looks " she may never find a husband not one of royalty at least maybe a farmer or stable boy. Her mother was cruel to her she has many stripes in her back as a form of punishment. Her mother would make her stand on a stool in the living room as she unbuttoned her dress all the sisters would laugh and giggle except Mary Ann , her tiny blue eyes would quickly fill with tears and fear and depending on what Xenia had done depended on how harsh the punishment was . Usually Sonya would strike her according the her age after Sonya strikes her to her satisfaction she would make her kneel and apologize for her wrong doing and Sonya would toss salt into the wounds and make her stay kneeled until the entire family left . Mary Ann would come back after everyone had gone to bed and help Xenia up and would dress her sounds she would cry and hug Xenia and express how sorry she was she would kiss Xenia on the temple lightly and hold her Xenia didn't cry anymore she didn't give her mother the satisfaction of seeing one single tear stream down her face.
